My coworker recommended me this place and I was a bit scared first as I didn't know what to expect with pricing, but with insurance from work this is very affordable. Since becoming a patient a few months ago with Dr. Zhou I have gotten a cavity filling and a cleaning and she was very helpful and great. What made me write this review though was today, I had been experiencing tooth pain and in a spot where I recently got the filling that was in between teeth. Assuming that the filling must of fallen out because it was very painful full when I flossed. I called at 8 am the next morning and they scheduled me for a spot at 9:30 am that day. Well they took X-rays and the whole shabang, and found that the filling dint fall out but my teeth grinding had caused my teeth to become super sensitive. I felt really embarrassed about asssuming that and they were so nice and didn't even make me pay for the examination, Dr Zhou gave me recommendations and answers and made me feel very understood. As a Raleigh native this is probably the best dentist I've been too. I can't think of any complaints.

This was after I had told them I hadn't been able to go to the dentist in quite some time so you would think they would take their time cleaning. Then I was told I had numerous cavities and rather give me care options or show me on the x-rays where they were they rushed me to schedule an appointment for two fillings that would be roughly $500 out of pocket. Thankfully I was able to obtain the x-rays they took and I'm going to show it to my family dentist and try to see them even though they are three hours away. I had a friend go and her experience was much better hence why I trusted going to this place but guess I got the wrong people I don't know.

Four years ago I cracked my tooth on a roughly chopped piece of meat (bone). This was especially…read moredistressing because I'd avoided going to see a dentist for about 17 years. Yeah, I'm aware that was a horrible idea but my whole youth dentists would pump anesthetics into my gums that didn't work. When I complained I was given more of the same ineffective drug or ignored. With memories of sitting in a dentist chair with tears streaming down my face from the very present pain of a drill I wasn't looking forward to dealing with that again. A co-worker recommended I try Lane and Associates off of Wade Ave. There was no denying I had to get the cracked tooth taken care of so I made an appointment, asked for prayers, took a sedative and went. Like no lie, I asked my PCP for anxiety meds specifically so I would go. He thought I was kidding until I started panicking that he wasn't going to give them to me. I made my husband take time off from work to accompany me. With tears already streaming down they took x-rays and examined my tooth. I was so obviously terrified that the dentist examining me didn't think he could work on me and considered sending me to a real sedation specialist. He asked me if I thought I could keep myself together during the actual drilling and filling of the tooth. We discussed my issues with anesthetics and worked out a plan and some hand signals so I could communicate if I was ok or not once tools were in my mouth. We set a future appt for the actual drilling and because of how patient, accommodating, and understanding he was I actually went back. He placed me on nitrous oxide for a full 30 minutes and finally we began. He didn't use any of the anesthetics I had told him didn't work. He took his time. My tooth was fixed and it was my first positive experience with a dental office. I can't say I was totally over my dentist fears. It was another year and half before I went back; knowing a decade and half of avoidance had led to cavities. I had 5 cavities to address. I took my mom this time. We broke up the fillings into 2 appts. The dentist (a different one) and I figured out (again using hand signals) that no anesthetic fully works for deep drilling but I can handle it if we take a few breaks for me to collect myself. It wasn't even about my pain threshold it was about being heard and respected enough to be given some measure of control in these appts. I've made and kept every 6 mth appointment since then. A year ago I began foregoing the sedatives (oral and gas). 6 mths ago I went to the dentist by myself for the first time EVER. I can't say enough how much I love this dental office or what a positive impact they've had on me. Everyone that works here has been amazing. Dentists, techs, and hygienists. I can't recommend them enough. They literally redeemed the entire dental experience for me.

But after my last appointment in March I will never go back! I honestly think I bothered the hygienist and I definitely interfered with her lunch. When I tried several times to use the suction tube to get the water out of my mouth because I was choking...she told me "I need you not to do that and touch my arm". To which I responded "I need you not to choke me." And she was not nice, and she actually left during my appointment and someone else came in. Oh and do not schedule an appointment near lunch - as I was also told they had to "find a dentist" for me. I mean then don't schedule your clients for 11 am appointments if everyone goes to lunch at noon. Front desk snapped at me when I asked for my treatment plan too - for services they recommended and that I would pay them to perform (took a week to get it, but I am not going back). Also, the website is glitchy and they send you weird texts about forms and if you are in the parking lot. And I just called to cancel my next cleaning and she literally hung up on me.
