Since becoming a patient a few months ago with Dr. Zhou I have gotten a cavity filling and a cleaning and she was very helpful and great. What made me write this review though was today, I had been experiencing tooth pain and in a spot where I recently got the filling that was in between teeth. Assuming that the filling must of fallen out because it was very painful full when I flossed. I called at 8 am the next morning and they scheduled me for a spot at 9:30 am that day. Well they took X-rays and the whole shabang, and found that the filling dint fall out but my teeth grinding had caused my teeth to become super sensitive. I felt really embarrassed about asssuming that and they were so nice and didn't even make me pay for the examination, Dr Zhou gave me recommendations and answers and made me feel very understood. As a Raleigh native this is probably the best dentist I've been too. I can't think of any complaints.

I was in the office crying to my husband over the phone, not knowing the whole time that my insurance would have covered it. When I went home, Without any cleaning or treatment of any kind, I checked my insurance and confirmed that perio maintenance cleaning was covered in my insurance and that they just did not apply my insurance correctly. I would have had to pay almost $400 for something that was already covered by my insurance for free. Then this morning I checked my dental insurance and they submitted a claim for a dental cleaning they did not perform. It is going to be a nightmare to sort this out with my insurance. WATCHOUT!!! Just assumed N Raleigh was more expensive, so hired them when the cost was 30 percent ($350) higher than my former dentist, Red Flag 1. Red flag 2 was that they red flagged practically my entire mouth in the first visit. I immediately told them to not bother and I was not interested in anything else. Red Flag 3 was they used a lot of technology that makes you feel they are cutting edge. The technology was just for show as the result over the year was bad at best. Red flag 4 was they continued to talk about repairing everything in my mouth at each visit after I told them I was not interested. My former dentist told me everything was fine and the issues had been there for years, but they were not a cause for concern. They don't listen. Red flag 5 was that they have rooms set aside for finance and hard sales. Really? Lastly, and the final straw, Red Flag 6 , the crown fell off fourteen months later and they charged $443 to put it back in. Not only were they $350 more to install the crown than the competition, they had the gal to charge for repairing their own faulty work. I confronted them that my other four crowns had never had any problems in twenty years. The girl at the front desk had the gal to say they were the best and the prices were fixed for all dentists. She was either dumb as a rock or a shifty salesperson. I called her a shift salesperson. I did not want to complement her by calling her dumb as a rock.

I've never had so much trouble getting a doctor's office to submit basic information to insurance…read more I paid upfront for Invisalign treatment in early February, after being promised that they would submit the claim to my insurance. However, they did not even submit the claim to insurance for nearly 2 full months, despite multiple requests to do so. Once they finally submitted the claim (in April), my insurance asked several basic follow-up questions about the treatment so they could process the claim. It has now been another two months and Crabtree Valley Dental has still not provided that info, despite multiple letters from insurance. Over the phone, they keep assuring me they will take care of it but weeks go by with no action. It seems pretty clear now that because they received my money, they they have little interest is helping with my insurance claim. I previously had good experiences with CVD, but I do not recommend that anyone pay for any treatments up front with them. Make them submit to insurance first, because otherwise you may never see that money again.
