The building was clean, the staff was very friendly. I only needed the storage unit for a short period of time. When I went to clear out my unit, my belongings smelled of some kind of pesticide. I had to throw away a lot of my things. The manager assured me that they did not spray the units with pesticides but she offered to give me the forms to make a claim. For this primary reason, I would not rent from them again.

Most of the items I had in storage at the Dumfries, VA CubeSmart were removed contaminated with mold growing and or extensive musty smell like they were stored in a wet, damp, dark, musty basement. I never dreamed that I would be removing my personal effects from storage in such deplorable conditions. I had several lamb and leather coats that had mold growing on them and canvas oils and artwork boarders that were destroyed and I had to replace. I had thousands of dollars worth of brand new high end - clothing, linens, pillows, towel...that damaged and not salvageable. Other items required me to have to spend over two weeks and taking away hours upon hours of my time washing and rewashing and rewashing items in laundry detergent, bleach, and chemicals designed to try to counteract the offensive smell of mold/ must smell. There was no evidence of water damage. The lack of climate control and excessive humidity control contributed to this issue. I would never recommend CubeSmart to anyone!!!

Needed a storage unit until our house was ready, this seemed like a clean place. We went there…read moreweekly to swap out clothes for the 4 weeks of us using the unit and every week we saw the same dead mouse when coming in the building. We've notified the front desk, customers serve as well As left a message with the district manager. We are at week 5 and the mouse is still there. Also, very difficult making online payments, and never anyone in the office during operating hours. The photos were taking each week. One last thing is smelled like spoiled food as well or vomit.

He apologized for all the inconvenience and gave some of the reasoning as to why the delay had happened, all of which was fair. He addressed more of my concerns in my original review. From what I understood, the carriers are third-party, so they can't really control delays. He understood my frustration about the refund being only about $24 and asked how much would I think is fair. I said $200. He said that's completely fair and ended up zelling me the money right after the phone call. Obviously the move itself was a bit frustrating, but this I think more than made up for it and it was super validating feeling like he understood where I was coming from. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the conversation and the resolution.
