I absolutely love shopping at Tribal Weaver, especially their t-shirts. The designs are unique, creative, and clearly made by local artists, which makes them stand out from anything you'd find in a typical store. The quality is excellent, and the shirts are comfortable and well-made. You can really feel the care and originality behind their work. I'm in this area on vacation, and my best friend pointed out this shop to me. I was pleased to see it was an actual hippie store, though I do feel the name itself is misleading. The patchouli incense instantly put me at ease as we browsed the store and my friend bought some things to bring home. There were a lot of references to the 70s, along with hilariously inappropriate stickers/gifts. It was a pretty good time. read more

This is a fun tchotchke shop right in the center of town. They offer a lot of cool stuff for sale in an alt/hippie atmosphere. I'll just point out you can get a lot of their wares on Etsy and other online shops for far more affordable prices, but the experience here itself is most of the fun. read more

I have been going to tribal Weaver ever since I was in high school. Now I am in my late 40s. And this place is still open. I have always had great service and anything I have purchased has always been of quality. I love all the chakras, candles, and incense. I've always been able to find great gifts for birthdays as well. Definitely a great place to try if you haven't been here before. read more

Very racist people in the store, I asked them what they meant with tribal as an indigenous person and they threw me out of the store and said we don't need your kind in here. They also had some strange items for sale and mostly kids stuff not a lot of selection and also definitely not true to the name as most of it wasn't woven or tribal towards any country. The value of the items was trashy very old and ridden items not very much integrity in their holding up. Would not recommend. read more

I love coming into this store, they have some great items! From candles to clothing to spiritual books and more. They have a wide jewelry collection, which I love. Staff is always super welcoming and helpful! Sometimes I feel like you don't come across staff like this often. They also sell items from local artist which is such an awesome quality to tribal weaver! Again I would recommend stopping by here if you're in the area. I was curious about this location since I went to the Tribal Weaver in Auburn. I'm sad to say I had a better experience at the store in Auburn. I'm guessing because of the location, they are quite overpriced. I saw the same incense at this location as I did in Auburn for twice the price. The staff were friendly, but not the same welcoming vibe as I received in Auburn. Just seemed like another tourist trap shop to me. read more

Stopping by here was supposed to make me sooo happy but instead it made me sad. This was my favorite shop growing up, back when it was next to the Del Oro. I was super excited to go back and find some of the fun stuff from the old days. The shop has changed quite a bit. There wasn't any of the stones or magic fairy hippie type stuff...no candles or any of the things I was used to. The gals working were super nice and helpful as they could be. I ended up and the Auburn one a while later and found out the the two stores are no longer connected and have different owners, which I'm sure attributes to the changes in the type of product they stock..as well as the price increases. The GV one still smells like Tribal Weaver..so that made me happy. All in all...if you're looking for the tribal weaver you grew up with - go to the one in Auburn. read more

I love this store! The staff is amazing, and very polite. They immediately help you with anything you need! The store is roomy and smells great. The only things I don't really like about the store, but I can look passed, is the expensive prices, not much selection in the ear plug section, and the sometimes miss-marked items. I say that for expensive prices because their quality is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. For the miss-marked items, I have bought a size 4G plug and gotten home and have it be a size 00G. This wouldn't be a bad thing, but they do not accept returns with jewelry, for obvious reasons. The ear-stretching section is a bit limited, but the plugs/tapers they do have, are cool and unique. read more

I'm not sure what to think.....I'm reading all these positive reviews and I've had good experiences with this store in the past. Today, however, was a different story. My son visited Tribal Weaver today (12-31-2014) with the intentions of buying some jewelry and asking questions relating to piercing and gauging. The girl he spoke to must have been having an off day because when my son attempted to ask questions, not only was the girl rude, she proceeded to insult MY capabilities as a piercer.......and I wasn't even there! Needless to say, we will not be taking any future business to Tribal Weaver and I sincerely hope the girl my son spoke with learns some better people skills. read more

Tribal weaver in grass valley just lost my business today. I purchased 5 nose hoops and not even five minutes after leaving the store I got home and realized they were the wrong size. I called and asked if they could simply exchange them for a smaller size and they turned me down because they couldn't be certain that I had not put them in my nose. First of all tribal weaver does not sell sterilized jewelry so in my opinion we as costumers should be able to exchange jewelry if sold the wrong size! Who knows how many people touched the same nose hoops that I bought today let alone the girl who sold them to me touched them as well! They truly need to change their no return/exchange policy. read more

I have been going to this store for years and the last few times I cruised through I was astonished to see that the help was so rude. I watched the women working be extremely rude to a women and her baby when the women was just asking for directions! The customer wasn't understanding the rude help behind counter so instead of having patience the help told the lady "sorry that your upset near yelling" the poor lady was not upset she was just trying to find a place to buy a sweater for her baby becuase they didn't realize it was cold there at night on their vacation... The sweet mom walked out right away when she yelled at her. It was a train wreck to witness then I kept shopping to see the women get very testy with another women that just asked for help "I'm helping someone else thing now" was said with such aggression it was insane... It was like lady didn't drink her morning coffee or something. She made at least 3 people uncomfortable in my 10 minute shopping experience.... Such a nasty experience I will never go back which is a shame because I've been shopping there since I was in high school... read more
