When I need something cute to wear to a wedding, or a night on the town, even when I went to Vegas, Wildside is my "go to" boutique. Not only are the clothes reasonably priced, but I know I will always find something I love. Juliette (owner) always has the best suggestions. One reason for posting this review is reading the comments from Penelope and Paul F. Penelope, if you "pretended" to look around, which to me that answer is a no, then you can't comment on what the clothes are like. And the store is beautiful, it doesn't smell like mold. Sad that you have to make up things to complain about. Paul F., I have a hard time understanding how you can blame Juliette for your wife's shirt having snags from a necklace? Juliette has nothing posted in her store that would say "don't wear this necklace with that shirt because..." take some responsibility. Bottom line is Juliette has been in the retail business for several years, has always worked tirelessly to bring Grass Valley the best clothes and at a great price. read more

Friendly and personable owner. Great selection of clothes. I always find something really cute to wear here. I've gone in once or twice and tried stuff on, then stepped out of the dressing room and asked the owners opinion and she is totally honest just like your best friend would be. I appreciate her helping me find what works on me and not just telling me I look great in everything. Then getting compliments on the clothes I scoop up from here confirms her good taste. The woman opening the store came out to stop me from leaving. She had opened the store late I guess that day, so I couldn't get in during their advertised "open hours." Weird or weirdly enthusiastic? I went with enthusiasm that day and boy am I regretting this today! The store smells like mold. Wanted to turn around and leave the second I walked in. I pretended to look at the clothes, heard a kinder voice in my head for a moment saying, look around, give this wave of inspiration to go into a store I normally would not be caught dead in a quick poke with the old eyeball of discernment. I eventually wandered out. Clothes are shit. Literally hand stitched by deprived and depressed children in Sri Lanka or Malaysia, heavily effected by the war in Ukraine and the pandemic in China. read more

My wife and I just discovered this downtown shopping area in Grass Valley. My wife wanted to check out this store, Wild Side, last weekend. She found a top she liked and a couple of necklaces. We had a great experience in the store and the owner was very nice. In fact, we engaged in a long and pleasant conversation with her. We left the store knowing that we would be back even though Grass Valley is close to an hour away from where we live. The first time my wife wore the top she chose to wear it with the necklace also purchased there. At the end if the day, she was surprised to see the necklace, which laid on top of the shirt about chest high, had left snags all along that area. At no time during the day did it ever get stuck on the shirt so my wife did not know there was any issue. As she really loved the shirt, she tried working the threads back through but with the solid backing, she wasn't successful with getting that to work. Because she had worn the shirt and necklace only that one time, we called the store and told the Owner about the issue, expecting she would at least replace the top because this issue would of course be noticeable and after all, there was no warning that the material was that delicate and it didn't seem to be. Also, it was her necklace that caused the damage as well. The Owner's response was to advise my wife to pull the threads back through with a needle. Since my wife had already attempted to fix the top she said she would give it another attempt, but that the backing on the shirt was such that it would not allow fir threads to be pulled through to the backside. Besides that, it seems this was simply a damaged item through no fault of my wife. My wife asked the Owner if upon attempting to pull the threads back through, if this did not work, could she return the shirt for replacement of the same. At that point, the Owner was extremely rude and unprofessional by saying to my wife, "SERIOUSLY?" and other comments that indicated she was completely unwilling to do that and acted as if my wife's request was unreasonable. I ended up telling this woman that I recognized her business ethics by her response and ended the phone call. We will not be returning to this store and where my wife had told a few friends positive things about this store after they complimented her new top, she will now go back to these friends and advise that they not give their business to this woman. Incredible how we could go from a very happy and positive experience to one week later an extremely negative one. She should have wanted to make things right with her customer but instead she acted condescending and downright rude. Cute clothes but not worth the trouble should you have a problem with anything. Too many other places to choose from. Crossing this one off the list. read more
