They see the child as a whole person and not just a cough or a rash. I have often had to wait (ex a 2pm appointment can often turn into a 3pm appointment or once for me, even turned into a 4pm appointment when a child with an urgent issue came in). If you hate to wait (or have a tight schedule), it might be frustrating. When my child is sick or has an issue - I don't want to feel like I have to go home and look things up on the internet to confirm the pediatrician gave me all the options and was up on the most current guidelines, research etc. I trust Westchester Pediatrics to tell me what I need to know and that's it. For an anxious mom who is a compulsive looker up of things, that's huge. I trust the care - no need to look anything up.

She diagnosed my daughter with an ear infection and also made the decision to test her for the flu based on my daughter's symptoms, which I'm very happy she did because my daughter had Influenza A. She explained her diagnosis and her treatment to me so clear. Even though the urgent care co-pay is steep for me ($50), I would not hesitate to bring her back here because she was well taken care of. This is my second time taking her here and I have yet to complain about anything. I never waited more than 30 mins. There's plenty parking and staff is very friendly and helpful.

I recently had a colonoscopy at Westmed at Ridgehill. While my physician and the staff were overall…read moreexcellent, I have to say I was extremely upset and distressed at the lack of privacy for the procedure. The room I was in for the actual procedure had at least eight beds in it, all separated by cloth curtains. There were both men and women patients, and the doctor and the nursing staff were running in between patients for their procedures and for their recoveries. I was required to undress completely while separated only by cloth from the next (male) patients on either side, probably a maximum of 6 feet away. We could hear everything from each other's anesthesia instructions, to the results of the test, to the follow up instructions about recovery and passing gas. It was really an unacceptable lack of privacy. I felt like I was in a cattle corral. I've been a Westmed patient for many years. I've had several colonoscopies and I've never been in a public area like that during the procedure. I am 76 years old, female, and I'm increasingly appalled at the corporatization of the care there. Summit management should be ashamed and should reconsider their lack of concern for patients since their takeover of Westmed. There is so little regard for a patient's dignity or privacy when everything is sped up and organized to maximize quantity and profit. I'll be going somewhere else for my next colonoscopy.

After multiple visits and imaging, communication and follow-up were extremely poor. I requested a simple call to review my CT results but received no response and was only contacted 20 days later. In the meantime, I was billed for the scan without getting timely results or a clear care plan. The lack of communication and delays made an already difficult recovery more stressful and costly. This needs serious improvement.

She doesn't frown or make judgments and make you feel bad about your choices. In fact, she works with you as much as you can. She is very respectful and I really love taht about her. I have two kids and she is my fourth pediatrician and I'm glad I found her. Everyone else before were either dismissive, holier than thou or made you feel bad if you asked too many questions. UPDATE Since I wrote this review I have brought my daughters in to see Dr. Cinnante as well. She is wonderful and extremely caring, taking the time to listen to you and work with you. She even follows up with you on issues pro-actively which is unheard of today. She makes me and my children feel like human beings, rather than a record in their customer database. Jesus is not my savior. I respect religion and the right to personal beliefs. I do not want religion mixed in with my daughter's strep test. Let's just start off with the receptionist (specifically the one who sits directly in front). This lady is rude, barely can understand her and the $5 every time I need paperwork done is funny and sad at the same time. But let's get to the doctor or PA my daughter saw (2nd time there). Let me give you a bit of a background with my daughter and doctors. She was born with Bilateral Hip Dysplasia, so lots of doctor visits, X-rays and sonograms from the moment she was born. She also developed a bad toe infections that required 2 biopsy's at the age of 2, again a lot of doctor visits, she also banged her head on the floor face first and bit a small hole through her lower lip which required surgery, and finally add in prior doctor visits for shots, physicals etc. So my daughter DOES NOT LIKE going to the doctor's office, she loses her mind once she knows the setting she's in, especially when she see the Doctor, MA or PA. At this physical appointment, this Doctor or PA that saw my daughter asked developmental questions about my daughter while my daughter tried to escape. I answered everything honestly, yet it's like she didn't believe me. She was more focused on how my daughter was acting (again she hates doctors, she has PTSD), and concerned my daughter was exhibiting Autistic Traits. She asked if my daughter spoke (she does, she's just not where she needs to be), I was trying to get my daughter to say her colors (which she knows) and said person "NO, can she say it herself?!" She can, sometimes you just have to get the ball rolling with her and she'll start pointing out all the different colors. The energy this doctor was giving dismissive and she already made up her mind my daughter might be Autistic and was focusing on that, wanting her to be evaluated for a bunch of things. Let's not talk about the HIPPA violation when she came into the waiting area where I was with my daughter and people were around, and she brought up my son's Autism in front of other patients. Which she was unaware of when we were in the room, so this means after we left, she checked her chart and then his and realized he was, which is why she approached me in the waiting room. Again fixated that she believed my daughter was autistic because she was screaming her life away in the room (AGAIN she had PTSD with doctors and if she would have asked why she was acting that way, she'd understand, but she didn't care). Now here's the kicker, we got her evaluated, and guess what? NOT AUTISTIC! She passed her educational evaluation with flying colors, and the evaluator was very impressed that at the turning age of 3 she potty trained herself in 2 weeks, and holds her urine through the night and gets up in the middle of the night to use it, if needed. Just because one child is autistic, it does not mean the other is, and the way she was trying to push that narrative is crazy. Now the last thing I'd sad is my daughter's iron levels came back extremely low, heavily low, and was told to get blood work done ASAP. We did that same day, this was over 6-8 weeks ago, and have yet to receive a phone call for the results or a game plan. Now one would say I could call, but one would also think with levels as low as hers, there would be som urgency from their end. Luckily we dealt with this issue with my son, and got his numbers back up quickly, so we know what needs to be done. Safe to say, we'll be changing pediatricians, only took 3 visits.

I brought him in with me and nursed him with her help so that she could observe. She reframed so much of what the hospital told me generically and tailored it to me and our son based on how and what she saw. and she was spot on! he was happier, less frustrated and trusted me to read his cues correctly and get what he needed. it was an instant fix, I can't get enough of her!! She makes herself available by phone too if tou can't make it to her in person. She and Dr. Stephen are in this with you every step, honestly we couldn't have asked for more caring human beings to help guide us.

We used quite a few on call service when kids were little - we were inexperienced parents at the time. And we can't always find and trust the info we search online. There's always a doctor is on call during off hours there. Last December when we took kids to visit their Grandpa, my 10 year old had an asthma attack and I didn't pack his inhaler. I called the service agent and asked to have the doctor to contact my husband directly while he was on his way to a local pharmacy with our son. Dr. Halpern happened to be the one on call that day. After she spoke with the pharmacist over the phone, my husband was able to get the prescribed inhaler and a spacer. We're so thankful! After all these years, we know the office is closed from 1 to 2 pm for an hour lunch break. Luckily, we haven't had any emergency situation that my kids need to see a doctor happened to be that lunch break.
