Oh my; I had this light company for many years and I even recommended them to many of my friends and family. I have used Tri-Eagle for several years now and always Paid my bill on time everytime. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I needed to Pay 1/2 today and the other 1/2 on this upcoming Tuesday wich is the 17th. in speaking with representative Sarah who was more concerned in telling me not once but twice how my bill is Pass due[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. My plan for TriEagle was expiring and I switched energy providers. I called them to make sure they don't renew my contract when it expired. They let me know that I have to call the day that my contract expires for me to be able to cancel without getting charged a cancellation fee. I don't know if the person helping me was new or something but this seems very odd to me. I'm worried that when the time comes they'll tell me that I should have cancelled earlier and will force me to renew my contract. My contract period was also for 3 years. This was my first electricity plan I bought after moving out on my own. Definitely learned my lesson with electricity providers and hope they don't end up scamming me when I have to call again to cancel my contract on the day it expires. I signed up in November, before my contract up with previous company. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was told the contract would arrive with all the $#'s we had discussed via email, within the day. It did not. The next day it arrived but it was a link to go online and set up account. That would not work, they had trouble on their site[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. My first bill from them showed I was charged. 16.6 per kw, instead of the 13.09 I was told I would be billed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Instead of arguing that at the time, I had to concentrate on getting the bill paid because TiEagle claimed the bank draft did not go through- 2x. I changed the bank draft to card pay. And got the bill paid. There were funds in the bank[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Next bill included 2 draft charges and a late fee. I had to go through several heavily accented individuals to get this rectified. There were funds in the bank. 70 was returned to the account. This second bill also had the issue of being 3x more kwh used in the 15 year history of my home. TriEagle just said it because the weather was colder. I argued it was not that much more use. And we also had time away from the home during this period so this did not compute. [[HIGHLIGHT]]At the moment I am on hold again with someone I can barely understand, to rectify the difference in the rate I am being charged, he noted that was too much of a wattage increase[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. They are now stating the amount of 13.09 I have been told was my rate was just an average and it is 16.2 now because Oncors rates are that. I was told previously (not in writing) my TriEagle rate is 11.01 and the bundled rate with Oncor is 13.09-- yet I am charged 16.2 with a note at the top that my average last month was 14.2 and this month 15. The man also has tried to tell me the 13.9 rate is the average of 2000 KWH not over. I shut that down, because on their own bill 16.2 is for 1000KWH- it doesn't go up when I use more KWH. I called Trieagle while shopping for electric service in Pflugerville, Texas. I liked their rates and tried to sign up. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was told that my information didn't come up in the system, so I had to send a copy of my Texas ID and social security card.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I wasn't told, for instance, if I had to send both sides of each card - and didn't. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was told that in two business days, plus Saturday and Sunday, I would "receive an answer", but not an answer to what.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The CSR, who was the 3rd I had gotten in as many calls and came the closest to able to speak English, simply kept repeating it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Answer to they verified me, answer to I could get electric service? [[HIGHLIGHT]]Since I've never run into unable to find me in the system when applying for anything, I also tried, twice, to apply for service online. Both times it said "a problem at our end" prevented submitting it and I must call customer service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I called customer service Monday morning, I learned they couldn't FIND the application I submitted with a CSR on Friday OR the one I tried to submit online, specifically because it never got submitted in the first place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was told they got the same error when they tried to submit anyone's applications and not only mine. In other words, their own technology doesn't work, and it failed to work too long and too broadly for the company itself to be any good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Someone with a specific extension at their customer service department, pretending to work in his office, called me a week after I actually moved into my new place to argue with me[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. That was the section of the customer service office that claims to be in the president's office. I ended up with Green Mountain Energy, and the signup was simple and straightforward. I had to submit my ID just once, only my driver's license, to prove my age, to get the senior citizen waiver of my security deposit, and I was specifically told to submit both sides. My application was approved and I had my account number, which is what the landlord required, and I only had to wait on the fate of my security deposit. It should NEVER take more than one day to get the electricity turned on, except pending the payment of a security deposit. I asked why they think they needed either to reset my password and they were unable to give a reason other than "it's company policy" and "we cannot help you unless you give us this information"[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I responded this was an invasion of privacy and no other company doing two factor auth. has asked/demanded this of me. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I wrote to their customer service dept and they responded "we see you account is working", well h**l of course it is now. They totally ignored my privacy concern and did NOT answer WHY them needed this information[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I was looking to switch to an electric company with better rates and this one was the best at the time (14.7/kwh) compared to our current electricity rate month to month at 20/kwh. I was overjoyed to see that they do not charge Oncor delivery fees like other companies do. However, being too good does come with a price. First, I did the enrollment on the website. At the end, it said there was an issue on their end and I were to call customer service. The wait is long but I get a hold of someone and they said I needed to email in additional verification which is my ID to complete the process. Mind you, they already had my SSN. This should be enough to credit check and verify me. Once I emailed my ID, it took a couple of days for me to hear back from verification. When I heard back they said they could not verify me but didn't tell me why. Then they asked for mortgage deeds which no one had previously told me on the phone that I needed to send these. I went back and forth on them about why they needed so much personal information for me to sign up. Then oddly enough, they said I was verified without my handing my mortgage documents. Only problem with this is it has been 7 days and I noticed they had already changed their rates on the website. I called back stating how their verification department took too long to verify me and asked if I would get the same rate I previously wanted. The customer service rep asked me what was my address so he could finish my enrollment. Now he says he couldn't find my information or my enrollment was ever made! He then told me he will call me back within the same day to see what was going on... and he never did. So yeah, don't waste your time with this company. If a rate is too good to be true, there probably is something up. I just can't believe how much time I wasted and I could have gotten a better rate with a different company at the time had I known. So maybe I had dodged a bullet with not end up going through with them... I ended up just now signing up with OhmConnect Energy and their online process was a breeze and I was verified right away with just my SSN! read more

Lied to me about the price per kilowatt hour just to get me locked into a 3-year contract then when I moved to another state they're not in they had to let me out of the contract told me my electric was cut off on the 3rd I get the final bill they left it on until the 24th charging me 21 extra days of electric and refuse to take it off..... On top of that if you speak English and you try to call your customer service it's ridiculous the amount of time you have to repeat stuff over and over just to try to get them to do anything! Luckily, I reviewed my mom's email to see how badly she was being ripped off by this trash company. I contacted TriEagle to provide service to my new condo in Houston, TX. I spoke with a representative on Thursday afternoon and the power was supposed to be activated the next day (Friday). The same day I had contractors resurface the hardwood flooring in my new condo ($4000) and the floors were supposed to dry on Friday and through the weekend and we were going to move in on Monday. Saturday morning when I opened the door and reached in to turn a light on to check and make sure that the heat was on I noticed that there was NO power to the condo. I called TriEagle at 830am, it turns out that they had made a mistake on the condo # and subsequently there was no order placed to turn the power on. When I explained the situation to the representative all I was told was that they were sorry for the mistake, I asked to speak with a manager and was told that there was nobody available to speak to me and that they would have someone call me back as soon as they could. They told me that there was nothing that could be done and that they wouldn't be able to turn the power on until Monday, possibly Tuesday. 6 hours later that day, still no call back from TriEagle so I called again and was again told that there was no manager available to speak with me and nothing they could do. I hung up and called TXU Energy, spoke with a rep and had power turned on to the condo within 2 hrs. I never did get a call back from TriEagle. ABSOLUTE PISS POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! There are a lot of energy providers to choose from, I have no idea how a company like this is able to survive in this market with that level of customer service. read more

48 HOURS WITHOUT POWER on some of the coldest days in Houston! All because someone didn't write up my contract renewal correctly and it was on a weekend! To add insult to injury the CS reps lied to me over and over! By the time Centerpoint figured out it wasn't them but Trieagle it was 2:30 Saturday pm. 1st Trieagle rep told me my power would be on between 4p and 9p that evening - NOTHING! Next morning the next rep told me my power would be on by 11am - NOTHING - and if not she would personally call me back and we'd get on the phone with Centerpoint together - NO CALL! The next rep explained that's not possible because even an URGENT REQUEST (mind you I'm disabled and have was in severe pain long before this point and a weeks worth of groceries had gone bad in my fridge) has to go to some other dept at Trieagle, then to Ercot and then to Centerpoint (and then he blamed Centerpoint for not having any Sunday turn ons - I called Centerpoint but as of late that evening they had no reinstate from Trieagle!)!!! That rep asked if he could do anything else for me and I said not unless he could do something to reimburse me for my lost groceries (he didn't offer - I had to ask) and he said he'd give me a $60 credit on my account - to which NOTHING has appeared on my account!!! Finally Monday morning, CP had the request and my power was back on! I know I'm just some little person and they are a big company and it's not personal to them, they don't have to give a you know what - but it sure feels personal to me!!!
