Been here a couple of times to get my hair cut by Daniel. He always does a great job and gives me exactly what I'm looking for. The shop has a cool atmosphere and way better pricing than the trendy shops in DC (Wise Owl Club, Barbers of Hell's Bottom, etc). Yesterday I went in for a trim. I am growing my hair out a bit longer than normal this fall/winter but have a meeting coming up for work and wanted to look a little more polished. Daniel only charged me $10 instead of the normal $30 since he didn't have to do too much which I really appreciated. My wife and I commute together so the fact that the shop is over a large antique store is also a plus as she can browse while I get a cut. Did I mention they have beer on tap here as well? In short if you are looking for a quality old school barber cut at a good price look no further than Tried and True. read more

Walked in to a "welcome!!". These guys here have it going on. Easily Frederick areas top barber shop. Located in downtown Frederick. Spacious room with lots of great collectibles and a pool table for your enjoyment. But that's not the best part. 2 taps await you while you are there. Whether you are waiting or in the chair. You get to drink a beer. How cool is that? But that is only half the experience. The talented barbers are the ones that keep you entertained. My beard was the longest it had ever been. I liked the length but I felt like the shape was all messed up, and I had no idea how to fix it. Tried a couple YouTube videos but I didn't feel confident in just going at it solo. So I went to the upstairs portion of the shop and was greeted by Garrett Shipley. It didn't take much of me explaining my situation for him to know what to do. Polite and professional, I felt super relaxed in his chair (the free beer didn't hurt). The end result was great. I came in as a walk in met Tyler. I was able to get a cut and shave right away. Personable, asked questions to find out exactly what I wanted. Very professional and very personable. I have tried a few places in downtown and none of them clicked with me. Either the cuts weren't that great or the customer service was lacking. Tried and true had both quality and customer service.
