To say Sean and his team of experts saved the day for my husband and I would be an understatement. These guys literally SAVED us from suffering through a 2-day road trip without A/C. The day before we stumbled on the amazing team at Roberts Automotives my husband and I had flown up to Washington to collect our RV (which had been stuck there for nearly 3 months being repaired after we hit a deer while exploring Washington's National parks over the summer). On day 2 of our road trip back to Los Angeles from Washington, our newly repaired A/C stopped working! It was late in the afternoon on a Friday so we knew finding a mechanic willing to help us close to closing time, and in an RV no less, was going to be a challenge but after speaking with the owner Sean on the phone we trekked an hour out of the way to visit his shop in Chico. Not only did he and his guys stay after hours to help us but they were also the friendly faces we needed after a stressful day on the road. They took amazing care of us, communicated in detail what was wrong and how they were going to fix it, and even took us on a road test to ensure all was working as it should before we headed out. I've taken my truck here for service and was very happy. They are honest. They are good. They know trucks. They know Diesels. What I didn't know was...they know New, expensive, high tech (High $$$ Repairs!) Mercedes Benz Diesels. I was sitting at home after a hard day at work. Girlfriend comes home and says our brand new GLK 250 Bluetec is on the fritz. -"What's it doing" I say. - "Sputtering, coughing, no power, smells and while I limped it home from the gas station into the driveway, it won't start now" the girlfriend says. -"When did it start doing that" I say. -"Right after I filled the gas tank" she says. -"You meant the Diesel tank right" I say? -"Of course I meant Diesel" she says. Oh my. She filled the tank and drove our brand new Mercedes Diesel filled with a fresh tank of gasoline, home. I frantically starting calling and searching and the dealership said they could get a used engine installed for probably around $19,000. Faced with the reality of losing our vehicle as it would not be covered under warranty, I made a call to Robert's Automotive and explained my dilemma. They had a plan. At the very least, they would be able to tell me exactly what the dealership would have to do. It was worth it to me to know what I would really be facing at the stealership. Towed it in. They started on it the same day, kept me informed and called me the next day and told me to not walk, but run to the nearest slot machine because luck was on my side. They were able to remove large amounts of moving mechanical components to get to my gas tank, drop my gas tank, drain it, replace seals, inspect pumps, button it up, fill it and get it started...and shortly after they got it started, you could hear the ugly gas burn out of the remaining hallows of my engine and settle into that wonderful chitty chitty bang bang of a Mercedes Diesel. I am ecstatic. I am thrilled and grateful. They did not make any promises. They managed my expectations. They communicated with me and they were able to take care of us. Shawn is awesome. I searched for a diesel mechanic, forever it seemed like, someone to work on the dreaded Ford 6.0. He loves these trucks and can fix anything. Injectors, glow plugs, oil pump, bulletproofing etc. He kept me up to date on progress and parts needed as well as cost. He is honest and fair, I highly recommend him. I absolutely found a true angel today!!! On top of everything else, since being uprooted by the bear fire,,,My diesel truck breaks down on me right off of the hwy on the skyway in chico yesterday, barely got it in a safe enough spot,,,still a bit in the road,,,,anyways,,, after calling a different shop ( which is getting their own awesome review) the fellow who answered could tell i had just reached the end of my rope,,,i was desperate,,,,he was totally booked out for a couple of weeks, he made a call to Roberts automotive and spoke with, kendra,,, she told him to tell me to bring it right in and they are expecting me!!! Whooooosh,,,,ok so now I can breathe a little,,,,.so so worried about the bill as I am do to leave town on fri for a new job!!!! This Repair shop is AWESOME!!! I took my 1998 Dodge Diesel in to have the check engine light figured out. Plus my Transmission was shifting crazy weird. I was shocked when the owner Sean called me to tell me what it needed in just a few hours plus he helped save me money on parts. When I picked it up I couldn't believe how good the truck drove! It's had this stupid check engine light on and off for years. No other shops including two Dodge Dealers could figure it out...... Sean replaced the Throttle Position Sensor and reset the light. Good service. Except I was charged for them to do a scan on the problem that my car had. I already told them exactly what the problem was because I had taken it to auto zone and they do the scan for FREE. I was charged 100 dollars for something that didn't need to be done in the first place. Oh and what do know, the problem I had told them was the problem that they fixed. I had the paperwork from auto zone and the codes and everything for the problem. Smh. They basically found an easy and unnecessary way to charge me. read more
