I made my appointment for 8 am this morning with Dave. I was there on time, they opened promptly. Dave took my motor home in, and they aligned my front end and installed a new SAFT T PLUS steering stablizer. What a difference. Bought a used camper shell for my F250. I purchased it for a fair price. All the employees I interacted with were friendly and helpful, especially Kenny. Other places charge up to $150 to install the camper, they did for free and very professionally. I was in and out the door in about 20 minutes with my camper. However price isn't everything I also appreciate good customer service and what I got from Dan and his team was nothing less. What a disappointment. I've been dealing with these jokers for 15+ years. It appears the owner's terrible customer service and attitude trickles down to his employees. Supposedly repair Suburban RV propane heaters - but they don't. Extremely rude counter person who argued with me when I asked to clarify if they fixed Suburban RV heaters. He said yes they repair heaters but not the gas valve - which is what I told them was the problem when I dropped it off. I was charged $68 for "diagnostics". The counter guy finished the conversation by telling me if I wasn't happy I could go somewhere else. Another customer in the shop at the same time left when I did and commented on the counter person's rudeness when we got outside. I'd give zero stars if that was an option. read more

My car got broken into and they smashed the side window of my truck topper. As the only listed SnugTop dealer in Chico, I called this place to see about getting the window replaced. Dude who answered the phone couldn't be less interested in helping me, put me on hold for a while before asking for the serial number and then letting me know he'd get back to me....That was a week ago and I'm still waiting to hear back. Wait, no I'm not...I contacted a shop in Redding who had excellent customer service and helped me order the window on the phone. If you aren't interested in my business, just tell me. Although after reading the other reviews about this place, I'm hardly surprised...actually think he did me a favor not having to deal with him at all, thanks! read more

We had our RV in for repairs. They called us and told us it was finished. We went to pick it up and it was NOT done. We had to leave it again. We asked them to keep it locked and they replied it was perfectly safe. Well, a few days later we got a call from Chico Police to inform us that our 5th wheel was stolen out of their business. Mind you, it was loaded with our belongings. Now they are trying to bill us for repairs! They should owe us money. We have nothing to show for the repairs. If they produce the 5th wheel, we would be glad to pay for it. This was Chico Truck and RV. read more

After going to court and satisfying a $54.00 lien in 2017, Dishonest Dan will still not release the lien with the recorder's office AS REQUIRED BY LAW within 15 days of satisfaction of a judgment. I even offered to file it for the jerk but he said he didn't want to help a bad person like me. Guess we're going back to court. Not sure if he knows that he will be responsible for paying a fine, reasonable court-related fee, including my attorney fees. read more

Took my Jet Boat trailer in to have lifted 2-3" with new leaf springs. Quoted $450. Get a phone call saying my brake system is bad on trailer. I said "let's skip it" I go check on the project and my trailer is lifted 10-12" and the tech is replacing the surge brake unit. I tell him neither are acceptable. He promises that it will get fixed and price will be super cheap for brake controller. Go get it a few weeks later and it's sitting lower than it ever was before, and I have a brand new surge brake actuator for brakes that don't work. Clueless service advisor hands me a bill for $1138.... read more

Beware. Took my truck for a B&W hitch installation, and told the service manager that I had another truck to drive so there was no rush; take your time and do it right. I was called a few days later and told my truck was ready to be picked up. After taking off work, and getting a ride to pick the truck up, I found they had chopped up my bedliner, the trailer brake receptacle was installed crooked, and the passenger side inner fender liner was also cut/"chopped up" in a very un-sightly fashion. I brought all this to the service manager's attention and he notified me they would replace the bedliner and inner fender liner. I left the truck with them and was to return once the truck was complete. I received a call notifying me the bedliner had been replaced, but they were unable to cut the new hole for the hitch as they were "scared" to mess it up. I understood and said I would do it myself. I was also told the inner fender was on backorder and unsure on arrival date. We agreed I would pick the truck up and receive the inner fender at a later date once delivered. Since they had to order the inner liners in pairs, I requested to keep them both as I was unsure if the new one would match the original one remaining on the driver's side. I was told absolutely not, and they were not willing to "eat" another $60(I believe their cost was $40) by giving me the other one. I was not interested in arguing over a small amount and paid for the installation. On the way home, I noticed a loud "rattle" sound coming from the back. After crawling under the truck, I found the heat shield had been cut, moved, and left hanging by 2 of the original 6 bolts. They also installed lock washers in the wrong locations, one bolt was missing the lock washer, and all of the cross-member bolts were installed in the wrong locations. The short bolts were installed where the long bolts are to be, and the long bolts in the short location (this is a huge safety issue since the short bolts installed in the main weight-bearing cross-member were too short to reach the entire length of threads as designed). I also found that the cross-member bolts were not torqued and a few of them had been barely tightened. I find all this very frustrating when I waste as much time fixing the mistakes and taking multiple 45 min trips, then if I had just done the job myself from the start. Once again the technitions came to my rescue. I had planned on having some normal maintenance items taken care on my RV but when I went to start it it wouldn't I had it towed in and in a few hours they diagnosed that it needed a special fuel pump. They had it ordered that day and all of my repairs were finished in a few days. They had to repair a repair I had done in an emergency in Oregon but they did it correctly. I also noticed that they had some great looking trailers, like flat bed, dump and enclosed for sale. I own an older flat bed and will bring it here for its maintenance. read more

I always try to give my money to local business (my family has been in Butte County since 1945) but this place made that pretty much impossible. I went with an open mind even after reading the reviews and Dan's unprofessional responses. Long story short is their costumer service is horrible. Dan made a mistake on his stock# and gave me a quote on the wrong dump trailer (still wrong on their website). No problem, people make mistakes. Wasted over an hour there because nobody seemed to know where Dan was. Never did find him and wasted a weekend of planned work. They acted irritated with me when they were the ones that made the mistake. No apology, no we will make it right and work with you..just nothing. In the end, after I had to call several times over the next week, they could give a rip about costumer service and made no effort to make it right (wouldn't have taken much). I was looking at spending around 6 grand but I guess they don't need it. Went to Sac Valley Trailer's and got the trailer I needed for $600 less than what I would have spent at this place. Very pleased with product, sales experience, and very importantly, the follow up service. Needed a dump trailer. Researched brands and prices in Northern California. Ended up locally in Chico, and I sure am glad. While I was focused on PJ, Chico Truck and RV owner Dan suggested I consider LoadTrail in the 6' x 12' size. (They sell both PJ and LoadTrail). Checked prices at several NorCal dealers; Dan's initial quote was the lowest. Bought the 6x12 LoadTrail with high side extensions and couldn't be happier. Handles both debris loads and my Kubota BX 23S very well. I like the way the multi-function tail gate allows me to spread chipped rock on my ldriveway. Since the Camp Fire, I've really put the dump trailer to work removing fire-related tree debris. I've had two minor issues with the trailer (both self inflicted). Chico Truck and Trailer's Service department handled both immediately, even though I went there without an appointment. They didn't charge me either time. Great family run local business. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! If you're reading this review, hopefully it is BEFORE you deal with this company, not after. That was the mistake I made. My star rating is because you can't give zero stars, and to be fair, Wes was really cool when I talked with him at the front counter. Dan and Nanci (owners), different story. I took a trailer in for diagnosis, signed a blank "estimate" sheet before service & Wes said they'd take a look when they could. Later in the day I got a call to pick up my trailer and was told I was good to go, all covered under warranty. Off I went. Then I got a bill... they said it turns out the part wasn't under warranty. Is it my fault they screwed up? No. When I called to dispute my bill, Dan screamed at me on the phone! Later I called back and spoke with Nanci. She started out a little more professional but we still didn't agree. Then she said something about me being "bitchy". It took all I had to maintain my composure and I apologized if she thought I was being rude. I said I'd get back to her and hung up. I know this is just my side of the story, but I swear, with all of me, that I was calm throughout my interactions with both Dan and Nanci. I realized after speaking with Dan and Nanci that they are both very aggressive and confrontational people, and that I wasn't getting anywhere trying to talk about my bill. I gathered my blank estimate and the invoice/bill they made after the fact and I decided to go in to speak in person. Initially I spoke with Wes, and again, he was very polite and had good customer service. He apologized and said he couldn't answer any of my questions so he got Nanci. When she came in, she smiled politely but as soon as I put my paperwork on the counter to show her where my confusion was coming from, she palmed the paper off the counter like it was a basketball and threw it behind her and started screaming at me to "Leave! Get out now!", shaking her arm, pointing at the door. Nanci is a pretty sturdy gal with very long nails and a lot of rings. I almost tripped over myself as I ran out, both scared and humiliated that I was yelled at in front of other customers. In the end, I paid my bill, because I felt like my hands were tied. I will NEVER go back there, ever again. I know this review is long, but it is important info. I hope it may help someone else avoid the pain I went through. I have read other reviews and they seem almost identical to my experience. These people are shady. They worked on my trailer without my written consent when they were only supposed to evaluate. Then charged me for something that was supposed to be free. To top it off, they both yelled at me! Unacceptable in a place of business. One more thing- I just reread their reviews and on 3/11/18 they had FIVE people give them 5 star reviews and another 5 star on 3/13/18. Sadly for Dan those weren't recommended. Two other 5 star reviews posted "a month ago" from today, 4/20/18, which would be in the same time frame. Coincidental? I think not. They also had a really heated 1 star review also "a month ago". I cannot say enough wonderful things about Chico truck and RV. We brought in our fifth wheel that started having several issues shortly after purchase. We had it repaired three times prior to bringing it into Chico Truck and RV. Not only were they able to repair the issues the first time around, they took care of everything with the warranty paperwork. All I had to do was drop it off and pick it up and everything else was totally taken care of in a very timely manner. After my past repair experiences where the shop did not fix the problem permanently, it took me three months to get it back and then they wanted to battle me on paperwork I wasn't expecting anything special but this place totally blew me away. Also very disappointed with their service. They repaired a door on our RV and put in old broken pieces from the preexisting door. Only cost $400. Pretty rude as well. Should of read the reviews before I took my rig to them for repair. Not very good at finding the problem they charge you by the hour till they do, that's typical. What's not typical is making you pay for diagnosing the same problem twice. When he diagnosed it the first time I replaced the part in question myself and paid him to diagnose it (around $900 diagnosis and part). After replacing it, it turned out that it wasn't what he told me it was but something else entirely. Tried to tell him that I was out of the first diagnosis and 500$ for the part. He basically told me to kick rocks, I'll never go there again. read more

My GF's parents were in town for the holidays. They had an emergency issue with their RV. We spoke with the service manager who was able to squeeze them in and got parts the next day and got them back on the road right away. We thought that they may over charge because of the situation, but we found it to be very reasonable and they did and excellent job. The RV was kept clean and Greg was very helpful. I personally don't have an RV, but when we came in to pick up their RV, I saw how much they have for my truck! A young man at the parts counter helped show me different steps and accessories I was thinking about for my rig. Prices are better than online. Was very happy with the entire experience. I took my RV to CT&RV for a number of items that needed attention. They scheduled an appointment for me to bring it in and they were ready when I got there. Several things needed fixing-- a knife valve, door lock, and a short in my air conditioning. The first two were fixed straightaway. The last one was a puzzle. Electrical shorts are no fun for anyone. They are hard to find, and tricky to test. Here's where CT&RV distinguished themselves: They stayed on it-- and on it-- and on it. They went beyond what most businesses would do. They just wouldn't let it go until they found the problem and fixed it. What company does that these days?? And, they nailed it at a fair and reasonable price. The owner Dan cares about his customers and business; the service director, David, took a deeply personal interest in fixing it completely and correctly. They made a lifelong customer out of me. I love these guys! When I needed an oversized PJ dump trailer and shopped around for the best price I contacted Dan by email for a quote... Time went by and I shopped around some more, and he still dealt with me fair and square, and came in well below the quotes I got from other PJ dealers. When I arrived at the the store I was greeted in a professional manner by Dan and referred to Kenny who worked efficiently to complete my pre-authorized financing paperwork, DMV paperwork, and configured the trailer for me to drive away. I cannot recommend them highly enough. I have called several times after my purchase to ask advice about customizing my trailer and have been graciously received. Brought our trailer here mid-July for a generator problem, we told them we felt the carb was bad and needed replaced. 2 weeks later after not hearing back from them, we called. Sure enough they said the carb needs replacing. Told them to go for it, but we needed to "borrow" our trailer for a softball tournament in that weekend. He said there was no way to finish it, but told us to pick it up, sleep in it for the weekend, and bring it back after the weekend. When we had it for the weekend, it was obvious that NO work had been done in the 2 weeks he had it. Returned it to the shop 3 days later, we were told a week or so for repairs. Also said we were missing an air filter and cover. We told him to go for it, make necessary repairs. After 2 more weeks of hearing nothing, we call them. Greg says Generac doesn't have a cover in stock and has to have one custom made. By this time he has had the trailer for a total of one month, and still no work has been done on it. We told him we need the trailer for opening season deer hunting weekend the following week. He promised he would get the carb on the generator and we could use the trailer, with the understanding that we would once again, bring it back to him after our camp trip for the cover. The cover had been special ordered and was due to ship while we were hunting. We got home from deer camp, and got a phone call a week later saying cover arrived. We told him we would pick up the cover and put it on ourselves, we're not going to haul the trailer there a 3rd time. Pick up the cover, a piece of 8x8 metal plate, for $46. Get it home, doesn't fit. The opening is twice that size and round!! Took it back, Greg had no answer as to what happened, he was in a flurry of other "issues" occurring at work, and lacked some serious customer service skills, was short and rude to his employees and all around cranky. The other guy at the counter found the actual cover we needed, and ordered it, and said he put a 2day shipping on it. Greg said we would not pay for shipping since that company sent the wrong part to begin with. We asked the guy how much the cover was, he told us $16. Clearly we were due some sort of refund, Greg said "wellllllll, we can settle it up when the part actually gets here". 7 days go by, not sure what happened to 2 day shipping, we get a call its here. Pick it up, Greg says the part was 16, and he paid $30 shipping so we are good money wise. Husband was tires if the entire process and said fine and left pissed. Called him back and told him that he told us he wasn't going to charge us shipping since we were sent the wrong part. He said he had to pay the shipping a 2nd time and had only made $3 off of this sale to us and had to charge us for shipping costs on both parts. Whatever, you're a liar and your customer service skills suck. You have a bad attitude, and lost us as customers (after spending almost 600$ the month prior for repairs). read more
