I got a hydrafacial with my mom for my birthday and my skin literally GLOWED for my birthday dinner across the street at Mangiamos. I saw people from high school there and they couldn't believe how young I looked, which was a great thing to hear on my birthday. The whole spa is so relaxing and calming, such a hidden treasure in Manhattan beach. I adore this spa and am treated like a pampered princess it is SO hard to leave. Best massage ever! I wanted to treat myself to a birthday massage and I'm so happy with my choice of spa at Trilogy! They were so great in helping me celebrate my day with a free glass of champagne after my service and a discount on the massage. I had Theresa as my masseuse and she was great! The massage was great and I highly recommend her. I also loved that the spa has showers with body products to use, a sauna, soaking tubs and the outdoor patio. I can't tell you how frustrating it has been to book appointments, not be able to look up my information on file (I am a repeat customer... not sure for how much longer) and get normal follow up or questions answered here. Then when mistakes are made they blame the customer. C'mon guys, for the prices you are charging, you need to have some sort or organizational processes and respect for the customer. Is it also too much to ask for any sort of confirmation email, text, etc. once a massage or service is booked to ensure accuracy... since this has also been a problem? I absolutely loved this spa! The staff were super friendly and my massage therapist was magical. I arrived an hour before my scheduled treatment so that I could have enjoy a nice bath and lay out in the patio. I loved that there is a beautiful patio and deep amazing baths. This is absolutely a fave spot for me now. I've gone a couple of times and even have gifted someone an experience here. It's so clean and it was wonderful they have refreshing infused waters and herbal teas. Oh You can also bring outside wine to enjoy on the patio. read more

I LOVE TRILOGY! I have been here twice once for a couples massage and again for a facial quickie facial. Both occasions have been for a friend's birthday. It's perfect for a girl's day, bachelorette or a day getaway For my massage, I had a very great experience with Jovonna who was really good with making sure my lash extensions didn't get squished down while facing down. She was good with making my experience as relaxing as possible and had a great touch. For my facial, I had the pleasure of having Sanam who OMG was AMAZING! Since I had never had a facial I thought a "quickie" (25 min express facial) would be a good way to few out the experience and immediately after my service I regretted not booking a full facial (50 min). Sanam was also amazing at making sure my lashes stayed in tact and set the steamer close enough that it didn't affect them but was still working my face. Sanam also went as far as giving me a mini upper body massage/facial whilst my quickie facial. She was great with giving me tips on how I should maintain my face daily. A peaceful and relaxing spa right by the beach. On the bottom floor is the retail part while the spa is upstairs. It's as if you walk up the stairs and enter into another world...a calming world. The female bathroom and locker room were very clean and easy to locate. After changing, my husband and I were off to our couples massage. It was just heavenly. The person who worked his magic on my shoulders and back (which are where I hold my stress) did an incredible job. He worked out many of the knots in these areas. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. My fiancé treated me to here, today, for my birthday and it was our first time ever going to a spa. I know .. don't judge me. We did the couples massage. The facility is beautiful !!! The women's restroom is VERY clean and spacious. Sauna, spa tubs, showers, beauty area with tons of lockers. There was always someone there cleaning and restocking on supplies. They also have a waiting area with hot water for tea, fruit infused water along with grapes, sliced apples and oranges for their guest. There's also a large balcony adjacent to it. It was cold today, so we didn't go outside to the patio area but you can see it from the waiting area. The staff: very friendly with beautiful personalities. I wanted to treat myself to a massage since I don't do it enough and also wanted to try some place new. I searched Yelp for places near home and Trilogy was it! I was able to book online rather quickly and snagged a morning spot on a Saturday. I went with a hot stone massage because I love heat and pressure on my muscles and skin. I also purchased a Yelp deal which was a nice perk for new customers. I parked nearby on the street and walked over. The entrance looks like a gift shop right across from Sunlife smoothie shop. I checked in at the front desk and they lead me upstairs. I was given a brief tour as there are many hallways, and I settled in the ladies' locker room. Comfy robes, sandals and lockers were available and very clean. The locker room itself had nice amenities like a sauna, rain-head showers, and soaking tubs. Once I was ready, I met with Rochelle, my massage therapist. We went into a corner room with dimmed lighting and zen style music playing. This was a full hour hot stone massage and it was worth every single penny. I praised Rochelle for working on tender and sore areas and thoroughly enjoyed the heat and pressure. I left that room feeling so much better and then I sat in a cabana outside and read a few magazines. I took a nice hot shower and was on my way! I will definitely be back! read more

If there is spa perfection, Trilogy Spa has attained it. Let me start off by saying i work in the spa industry as a massage therapist myself and have had dozens, if not hundreds of massages around the world. I am VERY picky. So when I like a massage therapist, it truly is saying something. I'm the client that has no fear of stopping a massage within the first ten minutes if it's sub-par. So that being said, I want to give my praises to Rochelle! What a gifted massage therapist. She is so intuitive, meaning perfect pressure, perfect spots to focus on, just the right amount of conversation to make you feel comfortable but not like you "have to talk." Plus, a bright welcome smile and energy. In addition to a fabulous massage, the spa itself is just amazing. I went on a Wednesday afternoon, so it wasn't too busy. I was able to enjoy their lovely sundeck mostly to myself. I fell asleep and took selfies and drank tea and did all the things you would imagine one would do on the sundeck, even got a little sunburned! I also made sure to utilize all they had to offer, including giving myself a scrub with the complimentary sugar scrub they offer, filling the bathtub and soaking for awhile after my massage, sweating in the sauna (OK, for my taste the sauna could be much hotter, but I like it really hot and most people probably couldn't handle it) and using their great smelling wash products in the shower. I spent a total of four hours there and if I had more time and money, I could have spent much more and longer. One of the great perks of Trilogy is that you can go with an opposite gender and still have an area to relax together, which is the sundeck. it's very romantic up there, too, with the sunbeds and drapery. Great place for a date! I've posted some picture so you can really get an idea of all they have to offer. Just be careful on your way out, their boutique shop has so many great things, you might empty your pocketbook like I did! Update to respond to Chandra S. - I have been to numerous places in my life to receive a massage, from $50 massage parlors to $$$ spas at the four seasons. Not once in my life have I ever been told that a 50 minute massage would cover only the period from the appointment time until 50 minutes thereafter. It is wholly unprofessional of you and your establishment to claim that that was the only time you possibly had. If that were the case, you should have informed me accordingly. I note here that your spa reached out to me the day prior to our massages to request that we bring cash for gratuities but failed to mention either the horrific parking situation or the severe time constraints on your masseuses. It's clear to me from your practices and your response that all you care about is money. I see that you keep mentioning the weather - so I was supposed to make sure to arrive on time and pay good money despite the absolute lack of parking and insane foot traffic in the area and yet you are claiming that, due to extenuating circumstances, I was not owed the full service I paid for. This is not a good look and I repeat that I would never recommend your facility or visit it again. Thanks for taking the time to respond and confirm all my thoughts. You've also confirmed that I effectively paid $120 per person for a 35 minute massage. This was a colossal waste of time and money. Yes, times are tough and this massage was supposed to be a nice treat. Too bad it turned out to be the complete opposite. My fiancé and I just had a very disappointing experience at trilogy spa. I was initially thrilled to find a spa that was offering regulation-compliant massages outdoors in a private and covered setting. I made an appointment for my fiancé and myself, relying on the fact that it's noted on the app that the spa has parking. The spa is located in downtown Manhattan beach. There is no parking. It took us 30 minutes to find parking and we were therefore ten minutes late. Once we got in, the whole experience was super rushed. We were rushed through our temperature checks then rushed upstairs. But the real kicker is that I paid $120 each for two 50 minute massages. For $240 we each got a massage of only 40 minutes. I thought this was super offensive given that I'm really only paying for time with a timed massage. I still left my masseuse a 25% tip bc I know times are tough and I think this might just be the spas policy given that my fiancé and I were BOTH let out ten minutes early, but I think it's pretty unacceptable. I was devastated when I was informed that the spa I used to go for ten years was sold to a British company and they decided to close it down. I am currently in the search for a new spa which could provide all the services that I need so I could have all done at once. I decided to try Trilogy spa since is nearby my house. As soon as I walked in, the staff was very attentive and friendly. They took me upstairs where the lockers are located , I put the robe on and waited for my facial on the patio area which is so nice and relaxing specially on a sunny day but small area. The esthetician was very gentle while she was doing my facial. I had the hydro facial and oxygen therapy. The only issue that I found was that the oxygen was a little strong so make sure to breathe deeply before every application. The waiting area is a little small which doesn't give much privacy. They gave me a complimentary body scrub because it was my first time. I was happy with the facial but I still need to do more search and try other spas before I make my final decision. read more

Wow, what a great spa in downtown MB! My friend gifted me a prenatal massage and I can't wait to go back. The staff here is super friendly and booking an appointment was a breeze. There are plenty of metered parking around, even on Farmers Market days. When I arrived, checking in was super easy (no forms to fill out!) and I was greeted by a friendly receptionist who showed me the locker room and waiting areas. The locker room was very spacious, and it even has a sauna, rain shower, and soaking tubs! The waiting area was really quiet and relaxing with fruit, water, and tea. There is even a super nice outside rooftop waiting area with swings and cabanas. Jenni did my prenatal and she was amazing! I usually asks for firm pressure but have been taking it easy while being pregnant. Without even letting her know, Jenni provided the perfect firm pressure and was amazing on my neck, shoulder, back, and IT bands and got a lot of my knots out! This is a sad day. I LOVE trilogy. I've taken so many friends and boyfriends here, this is always my go to gift/gift card place. I've been going for 7 years and it was always a good experience, Until the last 2 times I went. I took my friend for her birthday and we got a couples message together. My friends masseuse was great she said. Mine was so terrible she literally just put lotion on me rubbed it in as hard as possible then put a hot towel on me and whipped it off. The 2 girls that were at the front desk that's day were so kind to me and said they'd tell the manager the next day. Over the next few days I got no phone call from anyone apologizing or saying it'd get a refund I just saw it on my bank statement, that's all fine... I wanted to give it another chance. This time I came in, I saw gale and I was a few minutes late. Maybe gale felt pressed for time I'm not sure. She was frantically giving me a message it wasn't relaxing at all! Having her pick up my leg by my toe her pulling and jiggling/shaking my body then dropped my foot to jump back up to my shoulder she was all over the place. Some messaging took place but not very much. She ended my message by saying see how that goes washed her hands and left. I had the most amazing facial from Jessica she made my whole experience so much better that one start is there for her! When I went up to pay I told the girl at the front desk about my message and she said I can put it down for you not to be scheduled with her again. She didn't care to know anything about what was wrong. just really left a bad taste in my mouth. For my birthday gift, a friend decided to take me to get a massage at this spa. He'd called the Hermosa Beach Trilogy Spa to schedule the appointment, but when we arrived at Hermosa, they told us that they'd actually booked us at their Manhattan Beach location... (grrr) Although they did reimburse us for the parking meter. The Manhattan Beach location is as others yelpers described... bigger than you'd expect from outside, but it has dark, narrow walk ways. I loved the ladies bathroom - rainfall shower, sauna room, free lotion, etc. They had an outdoor patio, which you can option to get your massage outside. There's also a cute little waiting waiting area to lounge and snack on fruits while you wait to get your massage. I think I got the Trilogy Full body Massage. I've never gotten a massage at a spa, so I can't compare the massage I got from Luke. He was really nice... nice build, blond, blue eyed, 6'1 (need I say more..?) Because we had gone on a weekday after work, soon after our massage was done, they were getting ready to close. I felt a bit rushed by the employees cleaning the place and the front desk girl coming up and checking the locker room every 15 mins... After we were done, we went down to pay at the front desk, only to find that the prices at the Manhattan Beach location are $10 more than the Hermosa Beach location... which we made the appointment at in the first place.... I felt somewhat ripped off... we told the front desk girls what happened, and they said they'll leave a message with the manager and call us back... yea right... even if they did call back, I doubt I'd want to go back. btw, parking around this area are all meters... so bring lots of change! read more

This is my go to spa in the area, as it is the only spa that I know of in this area that has full bathtubs and showers! They do offer body scrubs here and they have a water spray room where you get sprayed down after your scrub. It feels amazing! I have gotten scrubs, facials and massages here! They're all amazing! My best friend came to visit me recently and we both had such a wonderful time here. I usually come alone, if it's on the weekend the Mr will join me, but it's totally more fun if you are with your girlfriends because you can hang out in the rooftop cabanas after your massage and just relax and chatter away while enjoying your drinks and fruits. Incredible and much needed massage during such a stressful time. Initially, I was nervous to be in such close proximity with someone else during the pandemic. But they followed Covid protocol very well. I felt extremely comfortable from start to finish. All staff had masks, we filled out covid questionnaires before arrival, and the open air cabanas were breezy and felt safe. My partner and I got couples massages - Jenny and Michelle were phenomenal. I was disappointed by my recent experience at Trilogy. They are in their new location now so i was anxious to try it out. They provide very little information on the website about what the spa has to offer in the new location. When I arrived, i was told the sauna, steam room, etc (all the things you normally get as part of a true spa experience), aren't up and running yet. I was taken through a maze to get to a single room with a chair you can relax in while waiting for your treatment. did you don't do that, you're waiting at the entrance waiting area. Once i got to my treatment, my technician was kind of figity and i could feel him shaking the whole time. Also the music inside the rooms is so so quiet (i like the background noise to help cover up all the outside noise like people walking down the hallway or talking at the entrance), but it was so subtle i could hear everything. There were other little things with the message that didn't make it feel like it was worth $150. I won't be going again until they change some stuff up. read more

Nice spa. It's surrounded by other shops in a well-kept plaza near the beach. Upon walking in, you'll see their gift area, and that is where you'll check in for your massage and treatments. When everybody is ready, you will be led upstairs. Of course you'll find the entire area surrounded by anything therapeutic. Pleasant aromas from the scented candles, perfectly dimmed lighting, calming music. At the rooftop, there's a whole area where you can absolutely relax while waiting for your massage. It has a nice view of the beach from afar (but not a grand view because the roof isn't very high up from the ground). If not a view of the beach, then a view of other nice buildings and palm trees. If you want to tip your masseuse, it has to be in cash and it will be separate from the price of the service. Parking: The area can be a bit tricky in terms of parking. For anything here, there's a parking structure/lot that I personally never use. You can probably try for the outside street parking or a certain area of parking spots near Ardmore and Valley. That's all I got. If you can find parking, this spa is a good place. read more

I enjoyed my facial time with Meredith who was welcoming and informative of my trilogy facial treatment. She would tell me what kind of products she is using on me and each step she is dojng. I felt so clean, fresh and relaxed afterwards. I would come back here again especially since I enjoyed my facial time. Plus, i didn't get to use the balcony lounge due to the rain. i had gotten mama a gift card here for christmas and she decided to get one for me just for being an awesome husband. we came by on a nice spring afternoon for a couples massage. we lucked out with same day reservations. i got a lady and mama got a dude to work on our kinks. both very friendly and attentive to what we wanted done. very soothing experience. the place is very comfortable. the shower/locker area is very modern. the shower stall had 2 shower heads. the after massage outdoor patio was awesome. beds and soft chairs. great california beach weather doesn't hurt either. the place is located next to lots of food and drink options. next time mama and i will make it an all day affair. will definitely return. read more

Trilogy is a small, cute spa in Manhattan Beach. I was surprised that other Yelpers commented on the amount of amenities because I think they have some but lack a few key amenities like whirlpools and steam rooms. Having said that, what makes this place unique is the yummy products and the deck with lounge chairs. The first thing I did was fall asleep on the deck, only to be awaken by an attendant who took me for a bath with an eye mask and sugar scrub and coconut oil. I also tried their "float". This was interesting - a machine where they wrap you in a waterbed-like wrap and you start on a hard wood surface and then they lower it and you "float" with cucumbers on your eyes and relaxing music. It gets a little warm and you get sweaty. I don't know if I would pay for this separately but it was good to experience once! I ended with a facial. It was wonderful. I would get another one. Funny thing, even though they didn't have all the typical amenities, somehow I was there for 4 hours without even realizing! Oh and I would say the receptionist staff wasn't the most friendly (however this is Manhattan Beach it has to be ippity), however the attendants in the spa and my aesthetician were awesome! read more
