Great wax experience (Brazilian/Half Leg) with Denise. Only my second wax experience ever, after waiting nearly three months, and she made it as painless as possible. Not only was there little discomfort, but she also worked rather quickly. I was in and out within 25-30 minutes. On top of that the place itself was cute and quaint. I randomly was waiting for my "step son" to get this first Brazilian! Don't ask me why, don't ask me if i encouraged it but i gave him a ride to Trim. When you first walk into this place, it is very clean, relaxed, bright and very welcoming. He was seen right away and i was just hanging out on the couch patiently waiting for him either to scream or walk out of the place. I had a 2pm appointment with European Wax center but then decided why not get a Brazilian at Trim myself. Don't ever let anyone tell you that waxing doesn't hurt, because it DOES. There is no stupid calming wax or numbing cream, don't let these other salons fool you. Waxing will hurt but as time goes on it becomes better. You know what to expect plus your hair grows in thiner and in patches you, YOU WILL BE FINE. I have been to this salon twice and Sharon was my technician. She was fast (just how i like it) and thorough (just as i expected). Sharon did not have an endless conversation with my vagina because she knew she had to get work done. What sets this place apart from some one the other salons, is that their techs are customer service savvy but don't waste your time. It shouldn't take 40-45 min to wax a vagina. At Trim you go in, you lay down, you make small talk and within 15-25 min you are out and back to regular life. I made a last-minute appointment online yesterday afternoon for an evening appointment. I couldn't get in to see my normal aesthetician this week and needed to get a brazilian. I get nervous about new places (especially last minute) but read the reviews and convinced myself to go. I was not disappointed! When I walked in the door, my first impression was that it was a very cute, very clean place. The staff was all very friendly and helpful. I saw Martha for my wax and she was awesome! Very quick and talked to me the whole time so I was distracted. I think their prices are very reasonable and definitely on par with what I've seen around this area. When reading the reviews, I couldn't believe when people were saying the Brazilians were "not that bad" is that even possible?? It is!! I got a wax from Lynn and rumors are true, not that bad!! By far the best and quickest wax I've ever gotten. These are true professionals and you don't realize the quality behind that (especially when I'm used to shotty nail salons that claim to wax). Due to some of my other errands, I managed to get up to the Wicker Park area sooner than I imagined, and I requested an earlier time if possible. They were able to see me then! Which was most helpful since I don't live in the area. So the customer service is too notch! It was my first time having a full face wax, but Deanna (sp) really helped me out. Waxing. Touchy subject to say the least. Went to Trim for the first time yesterday and had an exceptional experience. Fiona was fabulous in that she managed to engage me in conversation while SHEPOUREDHOTWAXANDRIPPEDHAIROFFME. But given that is what I came for, she did an outstanding job in keeping the pain to a minimum and keeping me focused on something other then the fact SHEPOUREDHOTWAXANDRIPPEDHAIROFFME. The place is very clean and sanitary. I didn't watch what she was doing because my eyes were tearing up in pain but what ever it was the results are fantastic and I look forward to going back. Customer service-extraordinary from appointment setting to reception to settling the bill. Technique-as painless as possible but by no means painless. My suggestion would be to drink a few glasses of wine before to take the edge off. Price-fair. Come on, they are artists for the love of god..... Highly recommended all around. Literally. read more

8 MINUTE BRAZILIAN. Enough said. No one likes doing it but it's gotta get done and for $55 and 8 minutes of your time you can get the most perfect and painless Brazilian of your life. There was a fest blocking all traffic routes on the day of my appt so I was running very late. I called ahead to let them know and apologized when I got in. My waxer said not to worry, she could bang it out in a jiff... or something along those lines. Susan was a rockin' chick! She got right to the point, no muss, no fuss, no fuzz. AND she let me keep my sunglasses on while she worked... not because I think I'm Bono cool or anything but because I was sooo God damned hungover having come straight off a 2 day streak of weddings. She was totally cool about it and gave me her best binge drinking remedies... her personal recommendation of drinking more for breakfast was the method I went with and man did it work. First of all, I think ALL boyfriends need to buy their girlfriends flowers or give them some kind of "thank you" for going through the pain of a brazilian/bikini wax.** **So honey, get on that I went and saw Evie and she went right to work. No small talk, just wax! I told her to let me know when she was about to pull so I could at least hold my breath, and she was really great about it. She was SOOOOOOO quick. I went to Spa Space, and the girl took FOREVER and wouldn't stop asking me about my vacation. No offense but the last thing im thinking about is sandy beaches when there is a spot light on the va jay. While painful, Evie used big strips and once she went through the first part of getting it, she switched to hard wax to get the rest which was MUCH less painful. (TMI?) Big strips are a little more painful in certain areas, but girls it makes it go by so much faster, and I dont know anyone that wants to be on that table for long. So ladies, im not going to sugar coat it, getting a wax downtown is VERY painful. BUT Evie assures me that by the FIFTH time it will start to get easier. Next time im having a glass of wine before going so I jump less, but overall she deserves 5 starts for how quick and efficient she was. I was in and out and home with an ice pack. :) jk I'll be going back to her for sure. Oh, and the receptionist was very sweet and didn't try to push any products on me. -------------- I'm going to update this. I went back and got Sharren this time. She is amazing. She made me feel totally at ease...and normally I HATE talking through the process but she was a total doll and had me chatting and actually laughing through the whole thing. Every so often, someone is successful at reinventing the wheel, so to speak. Trim is one of those places! Let's be realistic - no women relishes the idea of going in for the regular rub-n-rip, or as some may call it, the bikini wax. Trim, and more specifically, the Stephanies (Stephanie M. and Stephanie K.) do a wonderful job of putting their clients at ease and almost make the process enjoyable. Almost. Except for that whole ripping hair out of your sensitive areas part. But I have to be honest - Stephanie K. (whom I was referred to by Molly, god love her) inflicted the most minimal amount of pain I've ever associated with a wax of that nature. This is the very first time I haven't had to go home and touch-up! She's thorough, and has a keen eye for detail. She also kept me laughing the entire time! Stephanie K. also did my eyebrows, which look fabulous! I walked in looking like a cave woman and left with perfect arches. You must must MUST see her the next time you're in need of a wax! If she's not available, I would then recommend Stephanie M. She's also wonderful! What makes Trim unlike so many other places boasting the same services is that they are specialized, and further more, SO unpretentious! It's the kind of place where anyone can feel comfortable, whether your a waxing novice or an old pro, which I think is a difficult feat to achieve, but they do so well! I have traveled frequently across the states and AS GOD AS MY WITNESS, she was my first and she was the best. If I had known the others weren't going to be as accommodating and prepared as...well I just may not have "grown" so attached to the look and feel of the Trim (he, he). She suggested I use the rest room first which I did out of nerves more than anything. In the restroom I found baby wipes, moist towelettes, regular paper, a waiting bathrobe, and lots of soaps and lotions. It was more like being in a friends bathroom than I place a paid to be. She was UNBELIEVABLY friendly! And the cleanliest person I have met so maybe I should mention all this happened about two years ago! She wore gloves and a new strip each time BUT she ALSO only used the dip stick once before getting a NEW ONE!!! I have been to at least 50 other places, no one else does this ladies! But if you think about it everyone should! Yes it's fine if it were my pot of wax, but it isn't! It's only mine for about 30 minutes and then who else? How many others? Ew! She was awesome the whole way. She spoke to calm my nerves, I am weird so my best friend was there to support me because of course this nonsense started over a dare with a man. She even gave me a sample jar of this product to prevent ingrown hairs and A&D ointment for my comfort. AGAIN - NO ONE else does this. But because of this, I know that is the best thing to do after. And in case you didn't know, stay away from dyes and perfumes in the region for a day or two. I am jealous of you whom live in the area of Trim and may frequent. I, alas, must wait to get more bonus miles. Plus they offer lots of other services and are actually certified. The all around best for the a worthy price - TIP WELL, they deserve it. read more

My first experience at Trim in 2010 was a bit brash. I think because I was a new customer, they felt like they needed to upsell every single thing to me n order to get me hooked as a regular customer. Little did they know, I'd become a regular customer anyway. Since my first visit, I haven't seen the same stylist nor have I felt bullied into buying a bunch of stuff I don't want or need. Every subsequent experience has been quick, almost entirely painless and the best value for my money that I've ever had for an eyebrow shaping. That said, Sharren is a Goddess of waxing. I have been coming to Trim for two years and I absolutely love every single trip. I have my eyebrows shaped every six weeks (roughly) and the $17 is worth every penny. Sharren's attention to detail is truly priceless and there's very little pain involved. This is also the LONGEST I've ever had an eyebrow shaping last. I've been a religious eyebrow-shaper since 1998 (seriously) and I usually have to go every 2-3 weeks for a cleanup. NOT AT TRIM! This cleanup lasts 6 weeks minimum. Amazing. Sharren throws in some really nice creams to make your brows feel cool and pain-free afterward and a nice eyebrow pencil for a nice, finished touch. I've also had a bikini wax and underarm wax, both of which were spectacular. I'm not really into waxing other parts of my body, per se (only summers, really) so I don't regularly sample their other services. However, all of the ladies at Trim are truly professional and they know what they're doing. They know exactly how to prep, wax quickly and painlessly and suggest after-care tips for maximum hairlessness. Everything is clean, sterile and comfortable in the shop all the time. I have never, ever had a bad experience here and I've been at least three dozen times. If Trim isn't your regular waxing salon, you need to make a change. My suggestion is make an appointment with Sharren; she does everything and she does it really well. She's also super friendly and nice, to boot. read more

Glamour. Sexy. Luxurious. Lounge-Like. Comfortable. Sterile. Seriously, are these words that you could use to describe your current waxing salon? Trim promises "custom-tailored waxing" and "upholds the highest standards of sanitation and disinfection." Trim will "transform your ordinary beauty routine into a luxurious, sensual experience." I quote directly from Trim's website for 2 reasons: 1. Trim actually is who they say they are. They ACTUALLY do offer the service they say they are going to offer their guests. Seriously, how many businesses ((besides Trim)) really do PLAY OUT their "Mission Statement" or "Philiosophy"? When I visit Trim, I really do receive the service that they promise I am going to receive. Every.Single.Time. 2. I couldn't have worded it better myself. I've been a regular guest of Trim's for about one full year now. While I have been waxed by 3 different service providers, I mostly enjoy the service Steph offers me and will always request to see her first. The only time I agree to see a service provider besides Steph, is when I am booking in right before a trip out of town and Steph is unavailable. AT LEAST I know the service I receive will be consistent no matter which service provider I see. I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes for my appointment, the service providers are always on time. I mustn't ignore the amazing welcome and customer service I receive from the front desk 100% of the time. I am always greeted with a warm welcome, I am made to feel comfortable in the waiting area, and I know that as a customer of Trim, I am the #1 priority during my visit in the salon. Other than that, the salon is in a kick-ass space, it feels loungy and boudour-ish. The retail area is full of panties, lingerie, parfumes, lotions, after-wax care, crystal appliques, candles, etc... and is not an area to be ignored ((show up to your appointment a few minutes early to shop around)) Although the salon smells sterile, it doesn't feel like a doctors office. Although there are sexy nudey pictures of women hanging on the walls, it doesn't look trashy. Although I'm showing up for my brazillian wax, I don't feel like I need to be secretive or shy about it at Trim. Although the prices are competitive, Trim seems to be a few $ cheaper than most other waxing salons I have found in Chicago. Trim truly does offer a full 5 star experience. read more

I had a Brazilian here right before Valentine's day. I cannot remember that name of the girl who waxed me, but I picked her based off of positive yelp reviews and I think her name started with an "A". She was quick and very efficient, but this was THE MOST PAINFUL WAXING EXPERIENCE I HAVE HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. It literally brought tears to my eyes. AND I purchased the expensive "tend skin" product as directed/recommended by them and ended up with SEVERAL ingrown hairs (something that had NEVER happened to me with previous waxing experiences or with shaving). Both Hard and soft wax was used on me. I found the hard stuff to be less painful, but based on how my hair grew back I don't think my body liked it very much. On top of this, I found the price to be inappropriately expensive for the atmosphere/service: (the girl at reception was extremely unprofessional--VERY LOUD on phone and discussing issues that shouldn't have been discussed in front a customer--- and even accidentally handed me another client's personal information. Karen is the jam. She is a lovely human being, does NOT upsell, is swift and accurate with her waxing, and didn't treat my nether regions with any fear. She got right up in there. I didn't even get a brazilian, and I seriously feel like she was perfectionistic with my basic bikini wax. We related flashing people our "undercarriages" while swinging our legs over our bike saddles, and how I thought it may be time to take care of a little bit of my bidness down below. Keep in mind, I am not the waxing type, and I really don't like to encourage hoards of men to think that bald is beautiful when it comes to pubic hair, but y'know, I'm also a free-thinker, and if there is someone as rad as Karen to do some maintenance on my bits, then I'm down. She didn't bat an eye when I was yelling "F***!!!" because I"m not used to such things - like hot wax on skin. Very sensitive skin, I may add. And in spite of having my pubes ripped out like velcro off a shag rug, she was super quick, and the pain was short-lived. She didn't have to go over anything again, she just tweezed here and there for those elusive tiny hairs. Hence, though I am not sold on the lengths women go to keep their bottoms hairless and bleached, I'm pretty happy with my basic, cleaned up pelt, and Karen makes one WANT to go back. Just went back to Trim today for a must needed wax-a-roo down below. This was my second time ever getting waxed and my first time was a great experience at their sister location on Lincoln. I happened to be looking for a last minute appointment at this location on Milwaukee, and they were able to fit me in within the hour (on a Tuesday at 3pm). I was sooo happy to hear this as the other salon I know of just recently lost their technician, and the Waxing Room (whom I wanted to try for the first time) was booked up all day. I am glad I ended up here though. The experience was just as consistent and wonderful as their sister location. I had Amber who is sweet and who I will be seeing again in 5 weeks for my next "trim". I get a Full Brazilian which is done up to code and with full professionalism. We even discussed a style for a little left over hair I wanted to leave. Amber was very helpful and quick. I was in and out within 20 minutes. I love efficient and non-time consuming errands. No left over hairs and my butt feels nice and smooth. I will definitely suggest for all new comers to the waxing world, this is a great place for veterans and those of you who are scared to try or even have had a bad experience and want to brave it again. I'd only been there 2x before this most recent time: the first time I had Sharon (who converted me to Trim) and the second time I had the Awkward One. I decided to give Trim another chance only if I get to see Sharon again, and I'm so glad I did. Sharon is simply phenomenal at what she does. She somehow makes having the hair ripped off of my lady parts a relaxing experience. She is very skillful, professional, funny, and totally remembered everything we talked about the first time around. She's a gem! I will never go anywhere else, and will never use anyone else! Simply put...I LOVE TRIM. I have been coming here for a few years and each visit has been perfect. I typically get my eyebrows done with Abbie (who I adore.) She is amazing. I literally don't want anyone else touching my eyebrows. They are shaped perfectly each time Bridget is my go to for my brazillian services...she is also amazing.I have never had issues after waxing like I have with some other staff members with Trim. I have had appointments elsewhere where it's been brutally painful and uncomfortable, almost making me never want to get another one done again. This isn't the case when I have appointments with Bridget. I recently booked an eyebrow and brazilian with Sharren since Abbie and Bridget were not scheduled on the only day I had free. I was a little nervous going to a new staff member and questioned myself if it was a good idea or if I should wait for my normal girls. However, the receptionist assured me of how great Sharren is, and she wasn't lying. Sharren is bomb. The receptionist are always nice and very polite. I'm usually somewhat anecdotal in my reviews, and this time, I'm really not gonna go into much detail. Forgive me, but let's just say I'm slightly bashful... I called to make an appointment for a wax after a good friend recommended Trim. They fit me into today's schedule pretty easily. When I arrived, I had to fill out their consent form. Immediately after, I was introduced to Liliana, the woman who'd be taking care of me. Being fairly chatty myself, I was glad that Liliana was willing to talk me through the whole process. As a newcomer to the world of wax, she put me at ease and wasn't willing to lie to me about the fact that it would hurt. I have to say, I appreciate the honesty, and anytime you agree to have hair ripped out of your body, how can you expect it NOT to hurt? Seriously. The whole process was fairly brisk but informative as Liliana told me how to care for my waxed area afterwards, recommended some products only after I had sought advice, and was really sweet in general. If I determine the payoff of enduring today's pain to be beneficial, I would most definitely book another appointment at Trim with Liliana. Sharren is the best. Got a brazilian, lip and eyebrow wax. Sharren was patient with me to get the eyebrow shape I really wanted. The lip was quick and minimally painful. The best part was there weren't any red bumps afterwards. The brazilan was painful, there's no two ways around it. But Sharren was quick and skillful, making the pain very manageable. We chatted a lot which helped take my mind off of what was really going on below my waist. She's a sweetheart and is good at what she does. I highly recommend her. The receptionist at the front desk was friendly and welcoming. We chatted about a product I purchased there for ingrown hairs but she wasn't pushy or trying to sell me stuff. She just gave me some helpful tips on using it at home because she uses the product as well. Trim is clean and cozy, clean bathroom, and easy (metered) street parking. There was minimal pain & I was outta there after about 15-20 minutes. Mina also made recommendations on products to use for exfoliation(Tend Skin to prevent bumps & the waxing No-Nos so that on my next visit it would be less painful..which it was!) I have been a regular customer at trim for two years- ever since I moved to Chicago. And you know when you move cities, it's hard to find an esthetician who does a perfect job. Well, a lot of the ladies here are fabulous, and the customer service is great. I highly recommend Iowana, she did a truly exceptional job. I went in today for a Brazillian as I am leaving for Mexico. I made an appointment on Thursday. My normal Trim esthetician was no longer there so I went with "whoever". I was not nervous, because Trim always does an awesome job without too much pain. I refuse to go anywhere else. They are extremely sanitary- no double dip service here! Iowana was beyond meticulous. And, she was very quick. She missed nothing. She asked me every time she had finished an area, if it felt smooth in the opposite way of where the follicle grew, in case she had missed something. She would not finish until I was completely satisfied. A lot of waxers are afraid to get their hands on things when doing the bikini area, and she didn't hesitate, but was extremely respectful. She constantly asked if I was comfortable, if the temperature was okay, etc. I listened to her talk about the process the entire time I was getting waxed- in great and interesting detail. It was awesome. She even talked about her family at home in Poland. It was such a pleasant experience. It was $55 for the Brazilian service. Industry standard. LOVE TRIM!!! DeAnne and Sharon are my faves! I love a place where I go back and am remembered. I go here for Brazilians only. They use hard wax, which I wish all places uses. They are very clean and hygienic; NO DOUBLE DIPPING! In regards to offering products, to me they don't seem to go over board to me.
