Face Foundrié is an excellent choice for a high quality facial. The atmosphere is definitely more functional than luxury, but I've found the facial experience itself to be excellent. I've had the clean and natural facial four times, having joined their base level membership (without feeling pressured, by the way) after a first-time discounted visit. I've seen three different estheticians, and each has done a great job. The membership gives you a monthly perk, which sometimes is a small product, but other times is an actual add-on. I find the facials very thorough and relaxing, with neck/shoulder massages to start and finish. Others have commented on the layout not being private rooms. This doesn't bother me - I go for the benefits of the services more than the atmosphere. It hasn't been very noisy the times I've been there, even with multiple clients. One thing I appreciate is that even though they always recommend products, they don't pressure you to buy them. The front desk staff has always been great, especially when I stopped by before I booked my first facial to ask some questions. I decided to try Face Foundrie before heading on a two-week international trip and it was the best decision. I normally get facials about two or three times per year and have received most of them from full-service spas like Kohler and ones inside hotel. I love the beautiful spaces and amazing amenities that some of these larger spa's have, but I don't like going if I am tight on time. Face Foundrie is the perfect option for when you want effective skincare treatments and you are good with being in and out. I had the glow facial and the dermaplanning add-on. This was my first time having dermaplanning and I was impressed with the results. I remember hearing that your daily skin care products and makeup absorb better after dermaplanning and I would highly agree with this. While they did mention the membership to me at the end, it wasn't in a pushy way. I didn't end up enrolling in the membership, but it seems like a pretty good deal if you would like to have monthly facials. read more

I love this space! It's not the fanciest spa but the services and staff are so friendly. Regardless of each booth being separated by large curtains, I never feel like the services next to me are bothering me or that I am not in a zen space I've gotten a basic facial done here and my skin always feels amazing afterwards. One of the things the Covid pandemic impacted was my skin care maintenance plan. I didn't stop washing my face or moisturizing but I sorely missed seeing my esthetician and getting pampered. Went to FF Bucktown the other day and I can't want to go back. Merry and Alyssa conducted a dermaplaning session on me. I felt like a million bucks afterwards. The layout is different. No enclosed rooms but each station is partitioned off with curtains which allow for privacy and social distancing. With the high ceilings, there's no need to worry about air circulating. All the staff were wearing masks. I observed both Merry and Alyssa putting on gloves and sanitizing. I felt 100% comfortable being there. After my treatment, Alyssa took the time to do a consult so now we have a plan! Prices are reasonable. There are some things they can't do but that's based on state regulations. They do offer what I need and am most interested in- chemical peel, LED light, and now dermaplaning! I am so excited. I'll update my review in a few weeks. read more

Sadly I did not have a positive experience at Face Foundrié Bucktown. I was burned badly on an eye wax, called the store twice & sent an email with photos and never heard back. It took me to leave a negative review for the manager to finally reach out to me (9 days later). After many excuses by the manager I was promised a refund and in good faith I took down my original poor review. Unfortunately now 3 weeks past I still have not received any refund. I understand mistakes can happen with waxing, but this is just bad form. Clearly management did not take this seriously. This was a different experience. I have had many facials. For starters, I did not like the open concept. Each "facial" station was separated by a curtain. You kept your shoes on and were covered with a blanket. That was odd (to keep shoes on) and how sanitary is that? I felt like I was in a warehouse on a production line. And the idea was get them done quick to get started on the next person. I had a glowing facial, microblading and head massage. The services were ok but I noticed on the confirmation it said my services were supposed to take at least 80 minutes. And it took no more than a hour. My friend who had similar services and a quoted time of 80 minutes was done a little sooner than me. I will not be back. read more

So excited the Face Foundrie opened up this summer in the neighborhood - their services are amazing, the space is super cute and clean, and I love the concept. I see Alyssa, and she is wonderful!
