They are currently going through another ownership change, but from what the pro shop guys have said, it's all good things coming. The greens have some crabgrass issues, but other than that they are rolling pretty good. The greenside bunkers have gotten much better over the past few months, but the fairway ones still need some work. Since the new ownership change, the tee time pricing is now dynamic. We called to make a reservation instead of booking online, and that was a mistake. Definitely check online for the best price as most of the prices were cheaper than what we ended up paying. Twilight starts at 1pm, and honestly $75 with a cart is a solid deal. 2/3 rounds I played this past weekend were under 4 hours. 4th of July the course was empty and made for a very enjoyable round. The one area the course as a whole can improve on is the food at the clubhouse. Not sure if there's been change, but the food has been real bland the last few times. It's pricey as well, which makes us want to pack a lunch instead of buying it on the course. Lynette the bartender is the best though! Overall, excited to see how the new ownership improves the course over the next few months and beyond and can't wait to be back up to play again. The front is a par 38 and the back is a par 32. Par 32, piece of cake, right? Wrong. The back is demanding and extremely narrow. You have to play smart, hit your shots, and leave your shots to green in the right place. The pro shop is rocked well enough and both Bob and Chris are excellent. The practice areas here are enough to get you ready for your round, or allow you to work on your game. The driving range is rough, but it works. There is an outside deli window that is open for most of the year that you can grab stuff at the turn at, and the bar has dogs and chips when the deli is closed. The restaurant has huge glass windows that let you lookout onto the course at dinner and the food has always been excellent. Everyone I have ever met here has been kind, personable, and easy-going. It's not a stuffy club. Come in the summer and watch kids cannon ball off the diving board. It's a great place to golf, a great place to just be, and it's definitely one of my happy places.

Riding through the greens with the water views and wide open space felt like a little escape from everyday stress. One of my favorite parts was the trees throughout the property. They are absolutely beautiful and really make the entire course feel calm and established. I love places where mature trees are preserved, and Castle Oaks truly feels surrounded by nature. While exploring the grounds with my daughter, we stopped at the "Golfer's Therapist" tree. I had brought fairy items with us to decorate the space myself. The last time I visited, it looked a wee bit messy and sad, so it felt really special to help add a little magic back to it and create a fairy garden for others to enjoy. The staff and overall atmosphere felt easygoing and inviting, and everything from the golf carts to the clubhouse area was clean and well organized. It's clear a lot of care goes into maintaining the property. Whether you're golfing or just enjoying time outdoors, Castle Oaks is a really lovely place to spend the day.

The Round Special day for me--I shot a 70, personal record. Everything came together, and this course was the perfect setting for it. The One Issue The only downside came on hole 13. A resident yelled onto the fairway trying to enforce cart path rules mid-round. That's not something players should be dealing with while playing. If this is an area of concern, the course or HOA should consider: * Clearer signage visible from the tee box * Proper course-side enforcement instead of resident involvement Final Thoughts Outside of that moment, this is a fantastic public course that plays like a private club. It was terrible , I sent it back and didn't eat after . We also ordered the Steak Sandwich , steak over cooked , veggies soggy and nasty . Onion rings were actually very good , Service was good and the people running the restaurant are very friendly. But they definitely need to address the food it is really bad !
