They have a play based approach, but don't let that deter you, the things my children have learned is astonishing. Mrs. V and all the other teachers are awesome. They care so much about the kids. My daughter cried when leaving the first day because she was going to miss her teacher, that should give you an idea of how the kids are treated and how much the kids love it as well. Peter Pan also follows the district, they start a bit later and end a bit earlier than the district so you have time to drop off and pick up your other kiddos. If I could I would give them 1,000 stars. I did read some of the negative reviews and I disagree with them; this is an absolutely spectacular place to send your children. My kids love school and Peter Pan helped build that foundation for them. For that I will forever be grateful. I will always recommend this school to whoever asks or is looking. I would like to add to Dominic Leodoro. He stated in his initial review that Mrs. V was a nice woman, yet he keeps his review. Mrs. V can't go back and own the business, so she did the best she could being an employee. She has taken this business over and made it into a wonderful place and program. Replacing what the problems were there. Now while this does not change your experience with the previous owner I think there should be an acknowledgement of the positive changes that have been made since Mrs. V acquired the business. You stating that the program is laughable and that they are babysitters is not a reflection on what it has been changed into.

The standard of education is also very high and reflected when teacher's present your child's work, improvements and what is expected for their grade level, I think that is a big plus. Unfortunately, this school did not work out for us. The teacher was nice but I did not care for the assistant teacher. It seemed the students were a drag and burden for her, particularly when they needed help. She kind of groaned, rolled her eyes at the thought of winter when preschoolers most likely need help with their coats and boots. These are preschoolers I speak of here but the mentality was figure it out on your own. Now I understand parent responsibility but this was to another degree. It was pretty much a disgust face by her with hand washing, where other preschools help the kids. Not saying teacher is supposed to wash the kids hands but just being present & helping if needed. I had a meeting with them about our son which could have been best resolved with them saying my son was not ready for preschool or that he needed a shorter schedule. I have now learned that happens where children just need another year before they start preschool or maybe just need a shorter schedule, but it was implied like something was wrong with him. We immediately took him out of the school. I was very dissapointed. We ended up commuting to a preschool the following year 30 minutes from where we lived that worked way better and was worth it, given the distance. My son is now happily in 1st grade and an avid reader. When it comes to education especially in the area of early education and young children, a passion or care for small children should be a factor. The atmosphere should also be inviting and positive where teachers have a genuine interest to teach kids. This was my first born and new experience. With that said, it is red flag when teachers express any disdain for students, especially for preschoolers who are learning what school is like. Looking back, I believe the teachers were inexperienced and not qualified. I would not recommend this preschool.

I strongly believe my kids are doing so good in school because of what they learned and achieved at KinderCare. Teachers cared and taught them so much. They still miss them. It is like a small family here. The classes cover many different topics and are very "hands on". There is a play area for open play and a large room for more exercise type activity. There are educational field trips throughout the school year. The only reason its not 5 stars is because I would prefer a longer (duration) learning program instead of 2.5 hours per day. Very happy to be part of the Thornridge family!

He had such an unbelievable and valuable experience at Thornridge that he was actually crying and truly sad it was over (as was I). He has built many incredible friendships and has nothing but great memories from the classroom to the fun field trips he attended. The teachers genuinely care about the children and are very creative in the lessons they teach. For instance, learning the alphabet, numbers, teaching the kids to write their names, and even cooking! They are very involved with every activity they do and truly enjoy teaching the children. They put so much more time into the regular school day (2.5 hrs), their day is not over after 11:30 am, by no means. I am very happy that my youngest son will be going there next school year for the 2 day program and then the following year for the 5 day Pre-K program. I know he will have the same special experiences and build friendships like me oldest son did. Very happy and thrilled to be a part of the Thornridge family!
