Weaverville is a historic gold rush town. I stopped by this candy store. This shop was full of sweets and some nostalgic cash registers and weighing scales. They sold shirts and some apparel, unique goods and made in America souvenirs. Aside from seeing all the vintage candies (Pop Rocks, Bottle Caps, Charleston Chew, 5th Avenue, Tootsie Rolls, etc) they had a little section with lots of... yup! stickers! Yay! I grabbed one for my collection. Cool store with lots of cool souvenir merchandise. Had we explored this way first we would've dined in their eatery for lunch and order an ice cream cone for dessert. They have sections of gifts/decorations for the avid fisherman, the horse lover, the wine lover, the cat lover, etc, etc, and also a room with kid/baby items. Currently they are all decorated up nice for the holidays with unique holiday ornaments, decorations and gifts for sale. And any store that offers designated "hostess gift" gifts gets a star in my book! The owners live in the attached home behind their shop and they work very hard but are the nicest shop owners I've met. And I haven't even mentioned their yard area out front with various bird baths, bird houses, and other yard decorations! So much for such reasonable prices, I highly recommend checking them out. Bought a CBD Vape, opened the packaging last night to find it was broken, leaking. Went back in…read morethis morning to get an exchange for another product or a refund. Store has a sign that says no refunds so I'm happy to exchange for a different kind. I ask the worker if he's able to exchange, he says yes, but only for the same brand and type and per him, "they've all been arriving like this so not sure if that'll help." I clarify he knows the product was broken and he sold it anyway, and he's says, "yeah, I'm losing money if I don't sell it." I told him that's a shitty business practice to sell broken product to make up his loss off the customer and refuse exchange for a working product or refund. He was adamant he couldn't do anything else, couldn't even take accountability for poor business practices. Will never shop here again and know if you do- owner is ACTIVELY screwing over his customer base.

There is local art in the front and bird related items, such as bird baths. Further in are all the bird feeding supplies one could want, from feeders to food, including bulk items. The new owner is enthusiastic and fun to talk to. In wandering through the store I saw an item I had to buy. It was a peanut feeder for jays. When we go on vacation we worry about our two California scrub jays. We feed them peanuts but can't leave the food around unattended because squirrels will eat it. This feeder looks like it will meet our needs, we can hang it on our balcony, out of reach of the squirrels. I need to train the birds now to get their own peanuts from the feeder. They are creatures of habit and this will be something new for them. If in the area, stop by the Raven Tree, you'll be charmed as well.

Last year, they did a good job with marketing; added flags, more merchandise outdoors to entice drivers to stop by. Parking on the side of the road, yet still safe; less safe parking across the road. Clean bathrooms (outhouses), hand sink, soap, and paper towels. Open 7 days a week. Service - Everyone was friendly. Price - Tourist prices. Most of the employees were helpful and in good spirit. There was however one employee who cussed at me and threatened me in front of my family and others customers over a misunderstanding. Foul language and aggressive behavior is not ok and that is something that I will not tolerate. I asked to speak to the manager but was told he was on vacation and that he was not going to be of any help on assisting me with this matter. I asked why and I was told by a second employee that this behavior is viewed as acceptable by the manager. I am choosing to write a review so that everyone knows what could happen if you are planning on stopping by. I will never return and I will advise others in the area not to do so as well.

The Redding Garden of Lights at Turtle Bay's McConnell Botanical Gardens is just on the other side of the Sundial Bridge. The stunning display features over 10-acres and one million colorful lights. So many pictures moments! Not only did we enjoy the gorgeous display of lights but also the accompaniment of synchronized HOLIDAY MUSIC! Not to mention the selection of FOOD TRUCKS, BEVERAGES,Beautiful FIRE PITS, and delicious S'MORES! This is a Christmas Holiday must see! Note: No dogs allowed.
