I've been buying from Vic for years... well over 50 visits to his place. All good... but Recently…read moreI started having bad experiences. 1) went in for decomposed granite. Didn't pay attention to what actually went into trailer. Trusted the quality of what I was getting. Get home only to find out it's full of rocks. Rocks big enough to make it unusable to fit in between crevices of stepping stones. I had to return it.. which was something I've never done. Vic took it back, helped me unload it and was apologetic. Vic personally told me he "owed me one". 2) a month later I purchased 2 yards of concrete mix from Vic... was pouring concrete that day and found myself short about 1/16 to 1/8 yard. I went back to Vic.. kindly showed him photos of how I was a quarter wheelbarrow short.. and politely reminded him how I had to return the decomposed granite a month back due to all the rock that got scooped in with it. I thought Vic would Comp me such a small amount of concrete mix.. I was asking for 1/8 yard.. which at $38 per yard the math works out to be $4.75 of mix.. Vic proceeded to overcharge me at $6 .. I'm not upset over the price.. it's the principle of him "owing me one". I will start going to axner excavating even though it's 3 times the distance from my house. Vic lost a customer based on his apparent "word".

They have really great products, but our favorites are there organic soil mix and mushroom compost. The organic soil grows really great vegetables and Vic is very particular about not getting pesticide and chemical ridden material for his soils like most places in this area. Every three or four years if you add mushroom compost to the surface of your garden it will continue growing and producing in abundance. We found the mushroom compost to be very good or fruit trees as well. Put it around the base of your peach and nectarine trees to stave off leaf curl and produce sweet juicy fruit. Thanks Guys!

Plantables is a wonderful destination place within the city of Redding, if you like plants,…read moreflowers, interesting yard or landscape design or garden art, iron work, antiques, night lights, music, really good wine, and economically priced light entrees this is your spot! It's the perfect place to enjoy the company of someone special or lots of good friends. I'm Bob Henderson and many of you know me as Bonsai Bob. I must confess, when I first heard about this not-for-profit opportunity for students, I was intrigued but hadn't made it over there to check it out, until I met Kirkwood one evening by chance, on a difficult plant extraction expedition. We have become friends since and I fell in love with Plantables. That said, I would not be endorsing the business if there wasn't something special about the atmosphere created by Kirkwood and Donna the owners, and the vision they have for investing a life savings into a business model designed to benefit young people. One of their main focuses is to teach young people how to serve customers in a public environment, operate parts of the business, as well as care for and grow a variety of plants to sell to the customers. Kirkwood (a landscape design architect and plant educator) and Donna, have a history of working in many places around the world, creating rich garden experiences for others and wanted to bring something special back to the Redding community. If you ask them, I'm sure they would love to tell you about the things they have been involved with Globally. The atmosphere is always wonderful with medium-to small seating areas around for semi-private conversations surrounded by pockets of bushes, flowers and unique art garden. Everywhere you turn there is something interesting to see. While the menu is not large, what is served has been really good! I love the pinenes with extra basil spread? Additionally, for several weeks of the year, Kirkwood and helpers teach a number of plant enrichment courses through Shasta College. When I retire, I can see myself volunteering there because of the mission to the students and the community.

They only had one of the three options available when we ordered and my fiance wasn't able to eat it. Maybe it's just growing pains but I feel like they jumped the gun and opened way too soon- much sooner that they were ready for. It felt like they were all just winging it. Terry much everyone was side eyeing each other because no one knew what to do Cute but it's sort of like... bring your own coffee or lunch and walk the small garden. Cute though. I'll give them that.
