Great place inside the Marriott to eat, re-group and relax after day tours and shopping! We stopped in after checking in and had the Fish and chips (split order) made with fresh Pickerel. Ambience is great, place is clean and nice music playing. Tables and booths were very spacious and done overlook a beautiful church courtyard. They have a limited menu as it's a hotel but they do cover all the bases of all categories and have varied items. Breakfast features omelette bar along with a the other basics. Ordered calamari it's crispy however it's salty and there's no lemon with it so I have to asked the bartender for a lemon to balance the flavor, the sauce it's salty as well just don't want to return it. Old fashioned is good just way too strong and the service was fast. Ambiance is chill not too busy and the music or playlist is good. read more

Stopped by for a Christmas Eve dinner back in 2019. Didn't have too many expectations going in, and honestly they dropped once we arrived - we were the only ones seated at around 7:30. (There were a few people nursing drinks at the bar.) We grabbed a comfy little booth and settled in. We were offered a prix fixe menu, including an app, a main, and a dessert, but we declined in favour of ordering à la carte. The prices here are surprisingly reasonable for an in-hotel restaurant, at under $60 for a filling, enjoyable two-person meal. Our waiter was genial, and the service was overall fantastic. I had an expectation going in and was pleasantly surprised. I don't usually find food in hotel restaurants very good, just very expensive, but this was not the case. Trios in located in the Marriott Eaton Centre and it's gorgeous. Beautiful light fixtures and half moon booths makes this one good looking venue. The wine and beer menu were great. I was with a large group and both the wine and beer drinkers were happy! To eat, I had the Mushroom and Ricotta Pasta Purses($24). They were excellent and the portion was perfect. The pasta purses were a little bitter than bite-sized, so it was a little awkward, but the pesto sauce was so tasty, I didn't mind one bit! In the bar area, there were TVs with various sports and news. Adjacent to the restaurant there is a lounge area with a projector showing sports in large format. Nice! Service was phenomenal. Knowledgeable and easy going, they aimed to please. I'd come back. read more

Just beautiful! 3. Food is pretty good too. This is my 2nd time trying this restaurant. First time - brunch, this time - winterliciois lunch. I had red snapper rice ball, well cooked with a great Japanese and western fusion ingredients and sauce. I have tried many high end restaurants in downtown Toronto but this one is exceptional as a whole experience. If you want a special time, this place will offer you one of the best dining experiences in Toronto. Only thing I would change is to keep the hot water hotter for the tea which is a minor change. From the food coming out from the clearly talented kitchen staff to the hostess who greets and seats you, to the waiter who takes the orders, everyone and everything was perfect. Inside a Marriott Hotel near Yonge and Dundas, this is a small place with a modern atmosphere. I was pleasantly surprised at their Winterlicious lunch. They offered us their regular menu as well to look at. I liked that they did that so I could learn more about the restaurant and decide if I wanted something from their regular menu. Clam chowder was one of the best I've ever had. They were so generous with clams. Gnocchi was pretty good, too. I liked the squash puree. The poached peach dessert was very fresh and not too sweet. This place is definitely worth trying if you're staying at the hotel or happen to be in the area. read more

I'm disappointed like a kid who wanted soft serve on a hot summer day but have it melt when it was finally my turn ): This was my first Winterlicious of the year and I was let down by the main. The app and dessert were decent. The sweet potato/bacon soup was rich and thick, I quite loved the contrast of sweet/salty in the ingredients and the texture was right on. For the main, I got the beef bourguignon. The high hopes I had for this dish came crashing down.. someone most definitely dumped salt into the stew and I had to keep eating the mash at the bottom to counteract the saltiness of the meat and sauce - which, for some reason, also had a bitter taste at one point. The only thing I really remember about this dish is how thirsty I was afterwards. Perhaps I should've just gone with a simple Focaccia sandwich. The dessert was lovely. Triple cream brie was done just right with spiced pecans that I loved and figs with crunchy crostini. I had a bite of the brownie and it was a bit too haevy for my taste, same with the butter pudding. I'm glad I at least got to end my Winterlicious experience nicely, but I probably won't be back here until the chefs learn to cut the salt. read more

After a day of walking around the city we decided to stop here for a drink before heading up to our room. The service was very good, and mojitos were on point. Also tried the mango creme brulee, with mango pieces mixed with the custard, and it was surprisingly delicious, didn't expect that for a hotel restaurant. Def a nice cap to a long day. read more

If one misses the Trios Bistro while touring downtown Toronto, one could not be fully blamed as this wonderful restaurant is not located with the naked eye. It's location is inside the Marriott Hotel in downtown Toronto location most closest to the Eaton's Centre. The restaurant is hosted by award winning chef Abraham Garcia and has a menu that is affordable and food that is dynamic, tasty and filling. Having gone their on and off for the past 8 years for snacks, drinks, lunch and dinners, this restaurant sure knows how to treat their customers well. I have had their Sweet Potato Fries and their Classic Caesar Salad before and they are both very good and very filling. Their tastes are not overly strong but just enough to get you satisfied. This past weekend we visited the place once again to have lunch and this time I went with their Beer Battered Haddock and Chips. ($18.00) The order took a little while to arrive as there were about ten of us. While we were waiting they kept us breadsticks and bread to keep us from completely passing out. The waiters kept filling our cups with whatever beverage we had ordered for lunch which was pleasant and nice. My dish finally arrived and two rather large pieces of haddock were placed in a newspaper type paper. There were also some fries and tartar sauce that came with it. Cutting into the fish, the inside of the fish was steaming hot. The fish was nice and white and was cooked to perfection. The fish was soft, fresh and with the tartar sauce, a perfect combination to a very hungry stomach. The fries were perfectly fried, not too soggy and not too burnt. The batter on the fish was perfectly done in my mind in that it was a rather thin layer so that it did not overwhelm the fish. I was quite satisfied with the meal and ate all the fish and ate every fry that was on the plate. Having been here for so many years and having had so many different dishes, I don't think I have ever been disappointed coming here. The atmosphere is perfect for conversations and meetings and the staff is always courteous and nice. I will miss the place when my downtown meetings come to end. If you get a chance and you want a good healthy lunch or dinner, come on over to the Trios Bistro. You won't be disappointed. read more

Décor is quite modern. Seating options include stools at the bar, tables, and high-backed curved booths.The resto is just off the hotel lobby, so it can be a bit loud. Both food and drink are a pricey for what you get, but that's the (regrettable) standard in hotel dining. The breakfast buffet is fine but overpriced at $29. The lemon pepper calamari appetizer ($11) had more finesse that would be anticipated. Cod and chips ($19) were tasty but the portion was small. Nothing objectionable about the grilled shrimp salad ($13). Good service. No problems with my allergies which means that the servers conveyed them to the kitchen. read more

I came here for a Winterlicious lunch with a large group of friends, and was pretty underwhelmed with my experience here. While the restaurant does look pretty nice (high windowed ceilings, lots of natural light, etc.), the food and service are both just kind of mediocre. Appetizer: Goat Cheese Flat Bread (sundried tomato pesto, arugula, fresh basil, fire roasted red peppers). I ordered this because I love goat cheese and arugula, and it tasted just fine. The flat bread was a bit harder than I expected though, like I kind of forgot it was flat bread and felt like I was eating a cracker at times. Main: Beef Bourguignon. This sounds really fancy, but really it's just like beef stew. I don't know if in reality it is actually supposed to be fancy, but the one at Trios was kind of a let down. I mean, you would expect there to be some variation in flavour, but ultimately the stew just tasted... salty. Like super salty. Apparently there were pearl onions, crimini mushrooms and double smoked bacon in the stew, but really, I have no recollection of any of that stuff. Really it was all just beef, salt, and mashed potatoes in my memories. Dessert: Triple Cream Brie with fig preserve, spiced pecans and crostini. I actually really enjoyed this. The brie was not too strong in flavour and really was very creamy. It was delicious on its own as well as with the sweet fig preserve. This was definitely my favourite part of the meal. Service: It seemed like the servers were trying... and they were all really nice, but I was confused. Considering the restaurant really was NOT busy, they were surprisingly absent for a lot of the time. Besides coming out to take our orders and bring us our food, for the most part they were nowhere to be seen. I remember this especially being a problem after we had all had our beef stews, and one of my friends specifically had to request to have our waters refilled because they were all low and we were all dying of thirst. Sooo can't say I was terribly impressed with this either. Overall: Definitely a little disappointed - maybe a little bit less so if the lunch had been in the cheapest category ($18) but I don't think it was worth the $23 price tag we paid. read more

This was a great place for dinner right at the hotel. It was raining and we chose to stay indoors and it was a great dinner. The staff was most accommodating to our group and made sure we were satisfied with the food and drink throughout the meal. The choices were well explained and even when one item was spicier than expected they simply exchanged it for a new choice that met expectations well.
