In my opinion it was a very bad experience. They were supposed to trim all my bushes and trees. They forgot to trim several of them and the others were done haphazardly. They ripped out flowers that were perennials because they thought they were weeds. Many areas were missing weed barrier, even though it was in the contract. The company admitted that the job needed more mulch, but because they underbid the job and was losing money, they would not provide any more mulch. They also admitted that their workers were new and not properly trained. In my opinion they harassed us for more money because they could not estimate the job properly. The owner continously told us of a toll bill for $1800 he owed to gain our sympathy. The owner assured us that he had arborists working for him but this statement appears to be false looking at the completed project. For snowplowing, they had to be constantly called and asked when they were coming out. The company provided an expired certificate of insurance to trick me into signing a contract. They tried to tell me that a car insurance certificate would be just as good. I have a copy of the car insurance certificate the company gave me. This company has had numerous people complain about their snowplowing service, but they delete all of their negative comments and 1 star reviews off of their social media pages. This company was hired by my elderly neighbor to cut her grass. She is 90 years old and has a hard time seeing and hearing. She paid them a lot of money. They rarely show up to cut her grass. They never even provided her with a receipt for her money or a contract. Her family had to get involved to help her. They refused to bag the grass clippings after they cut my lawn even though the contract stated they would. The grass looked atrocious with all the loose grass on it. The company canceled my contract and wanted to give it to his friend. He was going to pay him a fraction of what I paid him and keep the rest for himself. The pictures submitted with this review is how this company actually left my lawn. When I explained to them that is was unacceptable they proceeded to cancel my grasscutting contract. Most businesses when they get negative reviews they get upset and do everything in their power to have the reviews removed. Instead businesses should look at the negative reviews as a learning tool to improve their business and their employees. People really do not want to put down local businesses but they most certainly do not want to be taken advantage of. The staff at Northridge are truly top tier in the profession. I had a licensed arborist give me the…read morewrong information (not affiliated with Northridge) about a tree I purchased from Northridge two years ago, stating that it was dead/diseased. Technically, the tree was not dead, however, the staff stood behind their 2 year warranty promise and replaced my tree. Sean and Bill were such a pleasure to work with today. They made me feel better about the situation, and are even going to repot the tree I uprooted. I'm 45 minutes away from Northridge, and I would travel even farther to do business with them again. I can't say enough positive things about the staff here at Northridge. Thank you for being so kind to me; it truly made my day better.

So I looked up a local nursery near West Seneca and found Northridge nursery. I'm so glad I came here! Their herbs were so much bigger and healthy looking. I got 2 Basil, 2 cilantro, 1 parsley, 1 oregano, 1 chives and 1 dill - all 5 dollars each. They also had a better deal on putting soil than Home Depot did. I have a really nice greenhouse and a wide variety of flowers and shrubs. Will definitely be coming back here!

I got quotes from THREE different services before finding Pauley's, and I'm glad I found them! One of our larger trees was growing inside our playground, making for a challenging job. One of the other guys quoted a ridiculously high amount, and wanted me to take apart and move parts of our playground -- he also increased the quote when he came back to look a 2nd time, and changed the scope of what he'd do. The 2nd guy also quoted very high and was concerned about the playground. Kevin and his partner worked together well, and took care of my trees carefully, causing *no* damage to our playground -- they were pleasant to work with, offered options to work within our budget (e.g. we chose not to have full clean-up), and came back each day to make sure the job got completed. It got COLD and even snowed a bit -- didn't stop them at all! Truth: the "partner" was Kevin's wife, and it was a joy watching them work together, carefully roping the chunks down to avoid any damage. If you like working with down-to-earth, real people, with experience to get the job done, and at a fair & reasonable price, I recommend giving Pauley's Tree Service a call!

Moved to Amherst from the Southtowns in 2008 and have found a variety of "good" nurseries and…read moregarden centers. However, Lavocat's continues to shine above. I know I can always find a quality gift item for my garden-loving friends, a unique perennial for that odd spot in the yard, or a funky planter to make the perfect table setting. My most recent garden problem was finding a nicely shredded mulch that didn't leave behind big chunks at the end of each growing season. Lavocat's to the rescue! They have a wonderful hardwood fine-shredded mulch that's just perfect. If you're like me, and have a smaller garden - bagged mulch is what we need - whole truck loads just don't work. The knowledgeable and very helpful staff at Lavocat's will load your vehicle and you'll be very pleased with the results in your garden.

We had to do some landscaping so we came to pick out some plants. Now, I don't know a lot about…read moreplants or landscaping so I am not an expert on this, but overall it was a pretty positive experience. They have a lot of different kinds of plants, trees, etc. It was a lot larger than I'd realized and they have a huge shopping area inside the greenhouse as well as outside. They have quite a variety of plants and they were organized well so it was easy to shop and compare the kind of plants you were looking for. There were nice information tags on every plant to ensure you could find things to match your environment requirements. There are more things to choose from compared to a Home Depot or Lowe's but they are a bit more expensive. In general it seemed kind of expensive to me but I know this stuff isn't cheap. Hard to compare to similar stores because it was my first time.
