The teriyaki bowls are good. The hamburgers are not so much. Patties taste like they're frozen and the bought it from Costco or restaurant depot. Soda is good, especially the ice chips. I'd go back only for the teriyaki :) I do love supporting local restaurants so I'll be back. read more

U ordered a veggie burger and it was pretty good. I could see that there was real veggies It. There was an odd taste that I haven't tasted in a veggie burger before and it was somewhat powdery. It was not a bad taste but surprising and different. The vegetables on top of the veggie patty were fresh and the bread was good. The service was quick and the price was good. No real complaints and I will give the veggie burger a second chance. Tripple A burger sells a decent burger. Not overtly priced. I think Tripple A burger's biggest strength is that they have a pretty deep menu. (Lots to choose from) I visit when I'm in the area but I don't go out of my way to frequent. That's why I give them 3 starz Because while the food is ok it doesn't wow u at the same time. read more

My family and I have been eating here since I was a teen when the mom and dad ran the place but seems like when the retired and the food isn't as good. I use to always get their teriyaki chicken over rice with a side salad or a classic bacon cheeseburger with their crinkle cut fries which were always fresh and salty. Hamburgers are still good but it seems like the quality of meat has gone done. The beef they use for their teriyaki beef was super dry and the chicken had a weird flavor to it. Service is always good and the cashiers is friendly. Your food also comes out pretty quickly. read more

I've been coming here since my Edison high school days! Et Killaz!! My mom would take me and a group of friends. So it nostalgia mixed with comfort food. Back in the day a couple ran the place and they dedicated their life to this place they are retired now and hired two guys to run it. The two guys are awesome they are very friendly and the honesty in this is that at times they have to be hardcore and be firm with people because of the area and the foolishness that goes on in and around this place but never the less don't let the location scare you away this is truly a diamond in the ruff. Everything is made to order so your food is hot!, it gets packed so it might be a wait so if your in a rush call ahead, overall this mom and pops joint is one of the west sides staples and it has never disappointed. Each order for the past 20 years has been great and taking my kids and having dinner proved once again they stay on point! S/O to Tripple A burger yawl do the dang thang!! Do not eat here if you have a preexisting heart conditions. This food is greasy. It is fatty. It is salty. And it is damn good. When you enter this very tiny establishment you'll see burgers and... chinese food??? Yup, that's right. This place is located right in the heart of the west side of Fresno, down the street from good ole Edison High School. Therefore, it is a tad ghetto. This, my friends, is from my days of youth. The food here is made fresh to order, you can see the grill because the kitchen takes up half of the restaurant's space. The dining room takes up one third and whatever's left is the counter and the menu. The burgers are amazing, the sandwiches are amazing, everything is nice, greasy and delicious. However, you come to Triple A Burger for one thing and one thing only. The West Side Special. Walk with me, if you will, through an epic beast of a burger... This thing packs on a burger, cheese, pastrami, bacon, hot links and... a fried egg. Top this off with some lettuce, pickles and whatever other fixings you're looking for and you've got yourself all the protein and cholesterol you'll need for about half a decade. Oh yeah, and it comes with some AMAZING fries. When you take a bite into this monster, the first thing you realize is: "Holy Crap! This thing is delicious". It's so good because you can actually taste all the separate heart-clogging meats on their own as well as together. And they combine together to make like a SuperBurger or something. This baby should have a cape and some tights, no joke. Many a man have tackled the West Side Special. And you know what, it's actually not that difficult to finish if you're a high school kid, or just a guy in general. It's big, but it's not so big that it's a freak show. But once you finish, oh boy, take the rest of the day off. You will have the meat exhaustion. The only downside to this whole place is that they no longer serve my favorite Cherry-Lemon-Lime soda that you can only get at old school burger joints such as these. Still, you could always get the milkshakes, they're good too. I like the soda cuz they have real crushed ice (you know what I'm talking about). "Triple A-OK Burger." ...sorry, that shit was lame. I was hoping to come on here and write a glowing review about this being one of the best burger places in all of Fresno, but it's just a burger. :\ I FINALLY got around to eating here, after working only about two and a half miles away from this place for years. I'd never really heard anything about the place outside of Yelp, but everytime I go into a locally owned burger place, my expectations are high. First of all, if you're one of those pussy "ghettophobes," don't waste your time. Different people tried to hit me up for money on my way in AND out of this restaurant on my first visit, and they weren't even homeless. Once you're inside, it's a humble little place with local pride- the Edison High basketball team poster was on the wall, as well as some pictures of the restaurant in what I would assume was its original location. Menu was strange, but expected. Aside from the regular burger/fry menu, they had a few Chinese entries like orange chicken and teriyaki dishes. Everybody in the kitchen was Asian- which means they know that Caucasian-Americans love their white-washed Chinese take-out food with a passion! Surprisingly, this isn't the first time I've seen the Burger/Chinese food combo (a place in tower has this, as well as Elaine's in Fowler- which I plan to re-visit and review one day) so I didn't raise an eyebrow when I saw a group of fully uniformed grunts walk in and order Chinese. Anyway, when it comes right down to it, I feel like I didn't order the right thing. I got a simple single-patty cheeseburger, thinking it would be a fairly big, "standard" burger. The patty was very thin (a little thinner than a standard tomato slice in thickness) and not very juicy- a bit too much on the "well-done" side as it was a bit dry. The lettuce was shredded, not the leaf kind. One of my biggest gripes with it aside from the dryness was the lack of onions, which I absolutely MUST have on a burger, or it's not a burger. I probably got maybe 4 tiny little chopped bits in there, so next time I'll have to remember to specify to ask for more. On the plus side, the bottom bun was toasted a bit on the grill- a nice touch. Fries were meh- the zig-zaggy crinkle cut kind. Ranch is the kind they buy from a distributor- a bit too thick and also meh. Next time- I'm not gonna fuck around. I made the mistake of ordering the single sized burger, which honestly seemed to be the equivalent of a "happy meal" at Triple A Burger. It wasn't very filling- there just wasn't enough meat in there. It was seasoned well and tasted good apart from it being a little dry, but I tasted more bread than anything. I'll definitely be getting the Westside on my return visit and I'll update accordingly. read more

This place is my kind of spot. Hard to find a fast food place in Fresno, that has Chinese, Japanese, Mexican, American and Ice cream being served all in under one roof . Sure, it might be in an area where you might have someone come up to you, begging for some change or a burger, only for you to see them hop onto their Benz and drive off. But once you're inside, you have countless options of what you can order! I have come here several times, for lunch during work since it is right off the 99, near the downtown area. Each time, the food has been really good. The teriyaki beef or chicken, is pretty loaded, and actually tastes better than a few other Japanese restaurants I have dined in. They are not stingy with the teriyaki sauce, so feel free to let them know whether to add more or less for your order. The burger meal I tried, which I think was called the "Snack Combo" was greasy and pretty big which I like. It is basically a hamburger patty, with a sausage link. More of a "light" version of the popular "West Side" burger. Burger was pretty tasty but a LITTLE too much on the seasoning which made it kind of too salty, and the fries were OK. It was your basic crinkle cut frozen fries. Local, family owned place as well, so it's always good to show up here and support. Oh, and they accept debit or cash only. This is a REAL burger joint! I didn't try the Asian style food, but a huge amazing burger, fries and a milk shake in my opinion makes this a REAL burger joint. When I went there they must have remodeled the place because it sits around 40 people and it was clean, not ghetto. Of course, I ordered the West Side Burger like in the other reviews and it's all true! If you love burgers you won't be disappointed. They have interesting flavors for milk shakes. You can see the grill so you can watch them cook your food right in front of you and it's always made fresh. Love their customer service the owner is such a cute and sweet man. Hilarious also he was cracking jokes with me. a first from every place I've been too. I won't try any of their signature burgers one because it looks too good for my health. Lol but I've been told it hits the clogging stage of your heart good taste. My all time favorite would have to be the chicken teriyaki. Mediocre food but I love it and it tastes better than most "Japanese" places that do serve/offer it on their menus. Triple A has been around since I was a kid. I'm sure it's gone through its changes. Probably even changed owners a few times, but for over 20 years has stood the test of time. I still remember when you could get 10 burgers for $10. Ah the good ole days. I couldn't tell you what the menu was like then. Probably just burgers and fries. Now they have Chinese, ice cream, and oysters. I didn't know oysters were in demand on the West Side. So they have this burger called the West Side burger. It looks and sounds ridiculous - hambuger, hotdog, pastrami, egg, and probably something else I can't remember. I opted for his less intimidating brother, the pastrami. It was good. Nice and juicy, just large enough to satisfy me. And I won't be walking out of here dragging from a full stomach. The prices have changed too. $10+ for my combo. But oh so worth it. Tried this place out the first time today to see what this Westside Burger was all about. Well, the Westside Burger was pretty good. Gotta give them credit for creativity coming up with the idea to put a slice sasauge, egg patty, and bacon strips on top of a beef patty to give you a new exotic like hamburger taste. The Westside Burger although big is slight smaller then the Dog House Grill Double patty Monster burger, however I think the Westside Burger taste much better. Calorie wise, you won't mistake this burger for something you would get at the Heart Attack Grill Las Vegas but more in the range of a McDonald's double Quarter Pounder or the Carl's Jr six dollar burger meal. As far as saying this place is better tasting then Foster Freeze, In and Out, or Five Guys, be hard pressed to say that. Since they use frozen patties like 99% of all the burger places in Fresno, so there's nothing too distinctive about them to give them a special five star rating. This is expected, because the best burgers are the steak burgers which are freshly made when you order it, and are only available at the more upscale restaurants. The restaurant is very clean, good customer service, and relatively fast at getting your order. The price are pretty much on par with every other hole in the wall burger joints in Fresno, not too expensive. OMG this place is amazing !!! I never thought I would find something so unusual and good in my home town. We always go out of town on the hunt for unusual or unusually delicious food and have found some great places all over California but this place has got to be in the top 5 places based on price , taste, quality ,cleanliness and menu selection. Fresno's west side has never really been known as a safe place to shop or eat but the staff was friendly and the customers were very friendly and immediately asked if we had been here before, and made menu suggestions of their favorite menu items. We ordered the Westside burger cut in half to share and a order of chowmein with chicken and beef , medium spicy. The Westside Burger comes with a single beef patty of lean beef, two slices of pastrami, a hotdog and a egg all between two fresh sesame seed buns. Just incredible!!!! All the flavored blended perfectly with out any taste overpowering the other. This is a true "Hidden Gem" Try it! Even if I didn't live in Fresno I would make the drive to come back, yes it's that good. To wrap this up we split the burger and it was still so much food we were too full to eat the chowmein . First time coming here and did not regret it. Was looking for a home style burger and fries (pregnancy craving) they did not disappoint. The food was delicious and freshly made. My husband got the tri tip sandwich and it was just as good. A big thing for us is also the service we receive, it goes hand in hand with the food. The gentleman at the register was very polite and pleasant not just to us but to every customer that walked in while we were there. The place is spotless and and has great ambiance as well. There's no wonder how they have stayed in business so long. I ordered a double cheeseburger combo that came with a side of fries and a medium drink. I paid just under 9 bucks for my meal. Not exactly cheap so if you're not on a tight budget then it is definitely worth it. My burger arrived juicy, perfectly seasoned, cooked perfectly, and dripping with cheese....exactly how I like it. In my opinion, it's a 5 star burger for sure. The crinkle cut fries had a great flavor to them and were so good I ate them without ketchup (I was driving lol). I ordered Pepsi with my meal and their Pepsi didn't taste cheap and syrupy as is the case with a lot small businesses such as this one. If you've tasted that cheap Pepsi (I think they get it on discount or something) then you know what I'm talking about. Not a big deal, but worth mentioning for those who care. Also, they serve their drinks with crushed ice which always makes drinks better in my opinion. I know, it just ice, but for some reason crushed ice just makes drinks better and they serve it here. Not a bad thing, just not unique enough to get them into the top 2% of burger joints like Quick Fire Grill in Reedley or Debbie's Place in Avenal.
