The rest of the story: My first experience with the Blue Store was at the location closest to Southern University and the wings were nothing short of amazing! This location has the same succulent, crispy wings that I fell in love with. They have thighs and breasts too, listed on the menu as "other parts". The fries and potato logs are decent and serve as menu filler, in my estimation. The star is the chicken. This is not the place you come with a larger group to sit down and have a meal. There's no space for all that. Step up to the counter. Ogle the delicious chicken posing in the window of the heat tray, tell the cashier how many wings or "other parts" you want, add some sides if you need some filler and then wait a very short minute while they hand your order to you, tantalizingly hot and tasty. If you're like me, with eyes bigger than your stomach, never fear! Pop these wings in the oven for a few mins the next day and they crisp right up and that flavor is still on-point! Ate here a few weeks ago. I was looking forward to the wings as I have good experiences with Blue Store chicken wings in the past. That said before this experience, I had only eaten the chicken wings at meetings or events. I had never gone into a store to purchase my own food. The chicken was flavored well but was not as good as a remembered in the past. I ordered the food around 6:00 PM on a Wednesday night. It seemed slow and food was not hot and may have been sitting a little while. I also order the shrimp fried rice which in hindsight was a mistake as it was not flavorful enough. Overall the food was okay but not a location I would revisit. I tend to think that restaurants close to medical centers are good and this location is rated high but my experience was just okay. May have been a slow night, the chicken wings and rice may have sat out too long. No sure just was super disappointed with this food experience. read more

We got the 6 pc chicken wing, crawfish pie, crawfish boudin, and potato. The chicken wings were delicious and crispy. The crawfish pie was amazing and filled with crawfish and the holy Trinity. I could taste crawfish with every bite. The crawfish boudin was also good, and seasoned well, but I didn't really notice crawfish when I bit into it. The potato was alright, but too potato-y in the end for me. I think I would just stick with the wings, crawfish pie, and crawfish boudin next time. The food is delicious and prices are cheap. All i get is the fried chicken. Every time I visit Baton Rouge I stop here at least twice. Nice Mom and Pop local gem. Best fried chicken.

Chicken is crispy, seasoned well and juicy. The inside is rather tight but for a pick up and take out, it's fine.

I feel they have good chicken, and red beans, but whomever prepares the beans is heavy handed with the salt. I like their food because it reminds me of home in New Orleans. read more

THE CHICKEN NAZI we arrived at 10:55 a.m. to get in line for the store opening at 11:00 a.m. After a thirty minute wait and after several customers knocked on the window to receive jeers and laughter from the staff of two inside, the rest of the staff arrived wiping the sleep out if their eyes! By this time the line was twelve people long and several had gotten fed up and left. The Chicken Nazi at the front counter curtly unlocked the door, said nothing of any sort of apologies to the waiting hungry customers outside. Of course they forgot the rolls and the whole experience reminded me of the Seinfeld episode with the soup Nazi! After hearing so much hoopla about this chicken I would rather go somewhere else where the chicken is milder and the staff is more polite and appreciates your business. read more

I came here on the recommendation of some of the people I came to town to work with and because it was literally in the same parking lot at the location where I was working. I ordered the 3 chicken wing, shrimp fried rice, and egg roll combo. I was excited to see I actually had 4 chicken wings! The shrimp fried rice was decent, like good Chinese takeout. The egg rolls were pretty average. But the wings...um...they were...SUPER SALTY. The service was friendly and fast. Blue bonnet is my favorite location. Food is always hot and fresh. Eggs rolls are always delicious. Service is pretty fast.

They do not have dependable closing hours. They close before the posted hours so be sure to call before making the trip.

I am trying to think of a justifiable reason to give this location less than 5 stars---and since the observation of the size of the wings I have ordered was not mine, I give this location 5 stars from my 3 visits here. This franchise is known for its wings and that's all I have ordered---since the times I have ordered, the order consisted of 10, 20 and 10 wings, my wait was none to minimal---although people who have larger orders sometimes have to wait. The quality of the wings is high and I have no quarrels but instead highly recommend them. I know you can order fried rice and chicken besides wings but I have not gotten these this far but would like to order the fried rice at some future visit. So I have heard about and read reviews on Triplet's Blue Store Chicken for a while now. It looks like they are franchised because the store seem independent from one another (just my observation on their social media posts). This location is right across the street from the Blue Cross campus and I just happened to see it, when I passed by the plaza. We were in the area on a Monday afternoon (around lunch time) and decided to pop in. I'm so glad we did! They had lots of chicken ready, so I ordered 9 pieces of wings + 5 drumsticks and egg rolls. The chicken is the star of the show for sure... the other items I got were just okay. I wish I would have just focused on the chicken, but wanted to try some of the sides. As I'm writing this review, I am getting hungry (like I want fried chicken, but only have a grilled cheese to make at home... LOL). Anyway, I'm glad to have found this place and I'll be a returning customer... over and over again! BTW, they told me that they had just opened the Monday before. Woohoo!! Soooooo disappointed. I have been here before and all was good. BUT today, it was horrible. I ordered a 9 piece wing and some potato logs. When I got home to eat, the wings were very small, way over cooked, way over salted and dry as the desert. and the potato logs were practically raw. The chicken is sooo crispy and juicy at the same time. The egg rolls were good too. This place is definitely worth the drive.
