I stopped at Chicken Wagon after a health screening event before heading back to New Orleans. I couldn't decide what to get so what not try it all? I really like the chicken sandwich, loaded mac and cheese and the coleslaw. Coleslaw is only good to me when it's crunchy and this one was perfect. I went back to the place because it was close and easy. I stick to my previous thoughts. The chicken isn't horrible. It's just very dry and tough and tastes like it's cooked in slightly dirty oil. The level of heat doesn't match the description. I ordered hot and it was quite mild. The spice is just this dry powder rub that you choke on Fries are ok but not my favorite. The wagon sauce is their recreating Canes sauce fairly closely. You do get a big piece of chicken on the sandwich and plenty of fries but it still costs 17 dollars. The service was extremely slow and I was not told when I ordered that it would be more than 20 minutes for my food to be ready. I had to go inside twice, once to find out what was going on and be told no refunds and the second time because when I did get my order they gave me half the number of chicken fingers and did not give me the extras I ordered. It was served with deliciously seasoned crinkle cut fries and a sauce to dip in. The seasoning on the fries, and possibly on the chicken, had a sweet hint to it. Everything was perfection. The sandwich is fantastic with a lot of flavor and a nice bit of heat with the medium The fries are crispy and go great in the Wagon Sauce or ketchup. I had to add a side of mac and cheese which was super creamy and extra cheesy and great with a fork and in my sandwich. Nice atmosphere with plenty of space to sit inside. You will have to wait a bit for your food (didn't bother me any) but it's fresh and hot with a reasonable price and a decent taste. How often do you come across a reasonable price paired with fresh and decent tasting food that also comes from a drive thru? Not often. This is a great spot to get lunch. They even have a drive thru! It's very clean and new looking in there. I got the sliders combo 5, medium spice. I didnt think it was spicy, will try hot next time. I really liked how the food comes with honey too, a great touch. The fries are super crunchy, even after driving back to work. I ordered my food online and picked it up, I did have to wait around 10 minutes even after I got there. The service was cool, although I didn't have to interact that much since I ordered online. It is located in a shopping center on Staring Lane. Newer building and very fun look and atmosphere. The service was excellent and every one was very helpful. I ordered the loaded fries in the hot level. The fries and chicken were both cooked perfect for me. Crispy and hot. It has crinkle fries with sliced chicken tenders. They add seasoning, sauce and shredded cheese. To me the hot was never very spicy but i think it is the combination of it being sliced plus the cheese and fries with it. Overall very good. First impressions: fairly clean and spacious, with loud music blasting in the lobby. Menu prices are decent compared to Raisin Cane's with a 4 tender combo with fries and a drink costing $12. Tried the hottest spice level and it wasn't very hot, especially for a place advertised/targeted as Nashville hot chicken. The chicken was well seasoned, and has a lot more flavor than Cane's, but Cane's sauce is better. The Mac and cheese was mediocre, both the regular and the loaded version (loaded version includes fried chicken bites plus jalapeños and pickles). They just poured nacho cheese on top and called it day . Pretty sad mac and cheese, worse than a boxed kraft mac and cheese. Sandwich was pretty good, size wise slightly bigger than a Popeye's chicken sandwich but value-wise it's $11, so not really worth it.
