VISIT WAS IN JANUARY 2025. This was the most horrific experience I have ever had with medical care; and it was just a potential new patient consultation. Dr. Bickman was judgmental, unprofessional and hostile. In my first consultation appointment, Bickman was 1 HOUR LATE. When she arrived, she flat out refused to discuss my medical concerns and kept cutting me off while I asked questions. She is not someone that will listen to you, advocate for you, or fight for you. Worse yet, she will villainize you and attack you. Additionally, the office was DIRTY-- hair clumped on the floor and blood stains on the cabinets. This is the level of care you get for a $800 annual fee, 100% out of pocket tests and labs, and having to submit your own paperwork to insurance for coverage? Really? I called multiple times to make sure that my insurance would cover my visit and as I was leaving I was told I was going to be charged $90 out of picked for tests they had already administrated and that they failed to inform me of and then was handed a sheet of paper saying I would need to pay $1000 out of pocket to return for a second visit for my IUD insertion. This was one of the worst health care experiences I've ever received. First off, I waited an hour before I even entered an exam room. Then another 45 minutes before I was seen by the Doctor. The reason for my visit was to get my IUD changed. I filled out all the insurance paperwork to get it ordered from the Pharmacy. I was told by the office, that if I didn't hear from them in two weeks to contact them and they'd check in on the pharmacy. After two weeks of not hearing anything, I called the office twice in one week. Both times I was told they'd call the Pharmacy, and then call me before 5pm. Neither time I heard back. After a 3rd time calling them, I was eventually put on hold while they contacted the Pharmacy. This time, I was told the Pharmacy never got prescription from the doctor. The pharmacy called me the next day and told me they got a 'referral, not a prescription' but the office didn't include basic information on the fax like the name of the doctor and the phone number. One week later I got another call from the pharmacy, stating THEY STILL HAD NOT RECIEVED THE PRESCRIPTION. And that they had tried to contact the office 3 or 4 times with no response. I called the office, they said they'd contact the pharmacy immediately with the prescription. Today, I called the pharmacy and they told me the order was canceled for 'max amount of times trying to contact the doctor with no response.' Yet another 1 star review for this practice I hardly write reviews, but as a young 20 something that relies heavily on my insurance benefits as I cannot afford out of pocket costs, I was not aware of the additional fees private practice doctors will and can charge. When I saw my PPO was accepted under Bickman I thought "ok easy enough, $45 copay and I'll be in and out." Haha. No. Took an hour and a half to bee seen WITH an appointment, so that was the first red flag. Second was allowing them to "keep my card on file." I was told over the phone that my iud insertion could be done the same day. Great. Now I'm being told I need cultures to come back prior to getting insertion. Sure fine. Haven't had that with prior insertions but I guess it can't hurt to be safe. As I'm checking out it's THEN mentioned that the cultures are an extra $90 for a "processing fee." Girl for $90 I will drive those cultures over to the lab myself.... Then comes the real kicker. I get discreetly handed a folded piece of paper and am told to call back to schedule my next appointment. Odd but alright. Once I'm home I glance at the paper to see a laundry list of the services Bickman offers. Great? We love a laundry list of services. I schedule my next appointment and carry on with my week. It's not until the day before my appointment that I carefully re-read the paper and notice buried amongst the text it mentions an annual $800 fee. What? I go on her website to see if there's any mention of a fee only to find that it's listed as $400 online. Still not great but girl which is it? Seeing as my monthly rent is only $280 more than her $800 "annual administrative fee," I decide it's within my best interest to cancel and start from square one with a more transparent doc. Once I call to cancel I'm told that because I'm not giving over FORTY EIGHT hours notice I will be charged $125. Mind you my appointment isn't for another 26 hours. I explain to the receptionist that I'm cancelling due to the fees in the first place, to which she says there's nothing she can do as the fees are charged "automatically" once they hit cancel. Now I'm 2 chargebacks deep with my bank and $260 broker. And! Still no IUD. I've been told that there are many private practice doctors on the west side that operate this way. As someone raised in east LA this was an entirely foreign experience to me. As I found Dr. Bickman through Zocdoc I had no knowledge of her fees and wish this had been more clearly stated. I've visited a private practice gynecologist in the past and only payed my insurance copay and nothing more. I say this as the receptionist continually tried to convince me that "private practice" was synonymous with extra fees and costs, but this is simply not always the case. I've been through the wringer with docs as I've dealt with treatment resistant depression for the past 12 years, and I have never experienced this level of financial ambiguity with a doc up until now. Let my poor research guide you in saving your money and going elsewhere. Like many of these other reviews state, it's just simply not worth it. Edit: After posting this review and filing the chargebacks with my bank, her office called me to tell me they would be open to "waiving the administrative fee" for my insertion. If I could give zero stars, I would. After arriving at my appointment and being roomed, I waited 45 minutes for the doctor to come in. Nobody came to check on me or let me know she was running late; they just left me in a paper gown in a room for 45 minutes. I work in medicine, and I understand backups in the schedule happen, but it could have been handled in a much better manner. At this point in the appointment, I was already frustrated, but what really brought this review down to 1 star was the complete lack of compassion and bedside manner shown by the doctor. Not only did she rush through my appointment and not give me any helpful answers to my questions, but she was also downright rude and made me feel very uncomfortable. She told me we had to do a transvaginal ultrasound as part of a regular visit (not shockingly, I later received a big, ol' bill for that ultrasound) and asked me if I use tampons. When I told her I typically do not use tampons, she audibly laughed at me and asked if I thought the probe would "even fit up there". They utilize private labs which leads to patients paying extra in bills months after appointments and has never once disclosed this. Now I understand why I received many email requests a couple of months ago, asking me to write a positive review for Dr. Tristan Bickman. I thought the email was a joke! My former OB-GYN had dissolved their business about 10 years ago. I had seen Dr. Bickman's name over the years so decided to try her. On the first visit, Dr. Bickman was over 2 hours late. Her office staff was quite rude, telling me that she was dealing with an emergency. I understand emergency situations, so I stuck it out and waited for Dr. Bickman. Throughout my visit, her attitude was incredibly rude, dismissive, and condescending. Subsequently, I had to contact her billing office with services billed that were NOT provided. Her biller does not return calls or emails. Clearly, Dr. Bickman does NOT understand that she and her staff should not treat patients so badly. And... now, Dr. Bickman is demanding a concierge fee? I scheduled a routine exam and was shocked to receive an unexpected charge for the Pap smear lab processing fee. None of these extra charges were disclosed upfront. At checkout, I was handed a letter stating that to remain a patient, I'd need to pay a concierge fee--something they conveniently failed to mention until after the visit. A few days later, the front desk called to inform me I had a fungal infection that "required antibiotics." This raised red flags: Only a Pap smear was done--no other labs were performed. Fungal infections are not treated with antibiotics. Treatment isn't needed unless symptoms are present. When I questioned this, pointing out that their medical advice didn't make sense, the assistant went silent and had no response. It seemed like they were pushing for an unnecessary follow-up visit just to lock me into that concierge fee. Weeks later, I received an email claiming I had an outstanding balance--no explanation. If they attempt to charge the card I left on file, I will dispute it immediately and won't stop there. In my opinion, this practice is dishonest and harmful. Warning: parking is atrocious. If you're lucky, you could find street parking but otherwise only valet parking that is $3/15 minutes. All day i believe was $24. The parking attendant said if you are in suite 409 then they validate but i wasn't going there so didn't ask what that was. If you submit insurance card on Zocdoc, beware it may not go through so bring it or a copy of it so you can email it to them. I did have this problem, mine was received as blurry. Wait time is somewhat slow even though my appointment was first thing in the morning (when their office opened) and i still waited for about 30 mins before being seen. I'd say for an annual women's wellness exam to allocate minimum 90 mins. Given the parking situation & wait time & front staff (compared to other offices I've been to in OC, LA & NYC), I'd probably find another Obgyn unfortunately. My first appointment was wonderful. I felt well taken care of and the doctor was very kind. I was given a robe while waiting and was tended to in good time. My second appointment however...while waiting I was handed a 2 page policy, stating that I will be charged $600 annually as an administrative fee. I was shocked. My experiences are much the same as many other reviews, that I wish I read BEFORE I subjected myself to this terrible experience. DISHONEST AND UNETHICAL business practices. HOSTILE STAFF - likely so aggressive because they are having to push back against people unhappy with being railroaded by their dishonest practices. DOES NOT KEEP APPOINTMENTS - dealt with several last minute cancellations. DISORGANIZED - every time I came in, no one knew what I was doing there. There seemed to be no looking at a record before you walked in, even when I came in for a follow up to get a specific blood test. They wanted me to tell them the name of the specific test, which I didn't know and asked for them to look at my records, which the lab tech did not even have when she met me. On my follow-up to my first visit, I was presented with a contract (that was illegible because it was copied on a broken copy machine), but was informed that it was my agreement to pay $200 for an annual fee to have my second visit. I refused to do so and told the front desk receptionist that this was a dishonest business practice as they needed to tell me that BEFORE my appointment. They said it is their policy to tell people after they arrive for the second appointment. I said, that is unethical and a violation of my patient's rights. I then left and they called me and said they would waive the fee asking me to come back. Against my better judgement, I did so. I was told to return in a little over a month's time to get bloodwork. When I returned for that visit, today, they took my blood and then said they were charging me $75 to process it. To process what? The blood? The paperwork? I was informed that if I had a question, I had to talk to their billing department. I asked, "Do you bill insurance?" and was met with "You have to ask our billing department." I mean, this is a yes or no question, but the receptionist refused to answer me. I asked for an itemized receipt for what they were charging me and she said, "We don't provide receipts." What kind of business can't give you a receipt for what you paid. She said I had to call billing, which is a separate office. So, I did. I went in the hall and called billing who told me that they can't give me a receipt for something the office is charging me. They can only provide billing records for what is charged to insurance and it sounds like this is an additional charge. I went back to the receptionist with the billing department on the phone and had the lady on the phone tell her that they have to provide me a receipt. The receptionist continued to refuse to do so growing more and more hostile. I was then told that I was not allowed to use a cell phone in the waiting room. Ok, but I have to talk to the billing department to get a receipt, AND the billing department is on the phone. How convenient that I can't use a phone either! She finally said that she would email a receipt to me, (which I sincerely doubt will happen), before noon today. I left, but I definitely feel that I was fleeced and plan to file a complaint against her license. Please save yourself the aggravation. It started okay until they lock you into a "concierge fee" which is a charge I assume they make up on the spot because the amounts are completely random and they provide no context. I was charged $2k and later told it was supposed to be $3k and at that point I had already paid the nonrefundable charge so I was stuck. What you're paying for is unknown. Every appointment my partner would ask her questions about herself to create report but not once did she ask me about me or my family. I never even heard the heart beat & I have ONE printed out picture of my baby on the ultra sound. She tries to pawn you off to her colleague who has extra special equipment to see the baby but when you book an appointment they charge $1k. You better have the whole day available because even tho you make an appointment you will wait 1 hour minimum to be seen. They charge you for EVERY test they do - even tho you will also be charge by lab corp & your insurance. $100 each test with $2k fees to Lab Corp. I had told Bickman that we were considering moving at some point in our pregnancy bc I was in LA & we needed a house - big mistake - she immediately wrote me off and never once asked me what my plan was or helped me transition to a new doctor. In fact, I had to call several times to get my medical records sent over and ask for a doctors note for my maternity leave. For 2 months I haven't had a doctor because we had to wait for the records to be sent over and when it was time to file my maternity leave SHE REFUSED TO GIVE ME A DOCTORS NOTE ! Evil. Thee entire experience felt like a HUGE SCAM! I wish I read the reviews before I went because I would have stayed away from her. Performed unnecessary procedure without informed consent. Unprofessional staff when relaying results. And just greedy for money, will try and perform procedures or get you back in for more appointments to charge you. I received my bill after going in for my first pap smear and some regular STD/STI testing. However, on my bill I saw a charge for an ultrasound. I was in no way informed an ultrasound was being performed and there was no need for one (my insurance called and they had no notes to provide as justification for performing the ultrasound). I went in for a pap smear, made that very clear, and even broke down the pricing of my pap smear and testing with a nurse to ensure I knew what I was paying for. I was not informed of any ultrasound or cost of one during this process. After my pap smear I get a call saying it came back abnormal. Of course, my first assumption is that I have HPV, which was jarring and scary as I'm young and very safe. I asked the person calling why it was abnormal, and they said they knew nothing and I couldn't talk to the doctor to clarify, so she then put me on hold for about 10 minutes. During this time I'm crying and under the assumption I have HPV or maybe even something worse (remember, this is my first pap smear). The woman then gets back on the phone to tell me my HPV test was negative, but she still has no further information and the doctor said I should come back for a follow up pap smear in 3-6 months. If it was abnormal again, I'd have to have a colposcopy. I decide to bring my pap smear results to another gyno (Dr. Melissa Gutierrez in Beverly Hills, totally recommend) and she told me based on the report I definitely do not need a pap smear until my next annual one, and I should in no way be worried about a colposcopy yet. She explained it could be abnormal for a host of other reasons that are not alarming. Dr. Bickman likely was just trying to get me back in to charge me for more procedures and so I would pay the $600 fee for a second appointment. My insurance has filed a grievance on my behalf and you all should steer clear. read more

I have never left a facility in tears until I went here. As a new patient - they required that I did all new bloodwork and testing. They told me everything would be covered by insurance yet when I was done with my visit, they charged me a "lab fee" on top of what my insurance already covered. Every time I came in, I would look them in the eyes and ask them to please be extremely transparent of what I will be paying today and every single time I was hit with a mystery bill that they would never mention until the it was time to leave. I had test results come back with a bacterial infection even though I had just been tested by another facility and I was clear. It seemed odd so I opted for a holistic approach for a few days. I came back to re-test and told them that I had opted for a holistic approach and they laughed in my face and Dr. Tristan Bickman literally started talking about me right outside of the room, loud enough for me to hear saying I was dumb. The other girls at the desk were laughing. I never felt so uncomfortable and humiliated in my entire life. When I came out of the room, they all looked at me and knew I had heard what they said. I've never left a place quicker in my life. I got a phone call later saying I didn't have a bacteria infection anymore and that it healed. Whether it was true or not, I feel like they were really mad that I decided not to take their antibiotics which could've been really bad for me because I didn't actually need them. The strangest thing is there are other reviews saying they are misdiagnosing a lot of people with bacterial infections. It doesn't end there as they also tried to charge me $500 in the beginning of this visit without explanation other than asking if I read thoroughly the paperwork that I signed the first day upon visiting them. This paperwork said in a really roundabout way that no one is able to understand that they will charge you an undisclosed amount for being a patient of Dr.Bickman. What they're doing is absolutely illegal and it's really bizarre that every single person has a different amount they are charged. I am sorry to anyone who experiences this office. read more

Tdlr: Stay away even if desperate. Just go to urgent care. It's likely you won't even be seen by Dr. Bickman in a timely fashion. My first appointment here went great. I was promptly seen and my issue was handled. However I scheduled a second appointment for a new issue. Dr. Bickman repeatedly cancelled on me for surgeries. With the hustle and bustle of life I got my new appointment date mixed up and missed it. Still there was no compassion for my situation. I own that was my fault. I paid the $125 no show fee. Now almost a year later, I'm trying to come in for a UTI. I'm in a considerable amount of pain. On a Friday my appointment was canceled. Over the weekend the pain grew so bad I had to go to urgent care. I called and left a message with the answering service to be forwarded to the office so I would avoid the fee. FALSE ADVERTISING - BEWARE. I visited Dr. Bickman in October 2023 for routine care, which her ZocDoc profile said that she offered. The office was unable to fill a prescription and did not contact me to let me know. When I called them to follow up, they gave me vague reasons as to why this was the case, and said there was nothing they could do to help. It seems like they're eager to overbook appointments but do not actually care about meeting patient needs. Very much a seems like a scam. read more

I had a 4:30pm appointment and waited till 5:20pm before leaving. I understand the medical profession can be unpredictable and things come up. I understand things take time. However, the amount of time I waited was unacceptable. I ended up leaving. I also witnessed two different people confused at the front desk because they owed hundreds of dollars. **RUN! I have never written a bad review and yet my husband and I feel obligated to warn other new moms. This office should have their license taken away. This a scam, praying on young, new moms who don't know any better. I work in the medical industry and this office is a black stain. How this hasn't been shut down as an illegal operation is beyond me. Come to this office is you want to wait 2.5 hours per appointment, circle for 15 minutes to find parking, deal with the most unorganized and rude front staff, have your insurance double billed for every appointment, oh, and be charged a $400 "concierge fee" per trimester to see Dr. Bickman. Any issue you can think of, we experienced in the first couple of appts it took us to realize this is run by a crook. Please don't repeat the same mistakes we did. TLDR; rude, unprofessional, shady, and unless you can pay $360 out of pocket on TOP of copay, go elsewhere. I was extremely disappointed with how things were handled at Dr. Bickman's office. When I arrived for my appointment (which was just go over test results), they let me know that in order to go in or even SPEAK to the doctor, I had to pay $360 out of pocket as part of the new "patient fees". They did not inform me of this when I made the appointment or when I decided to be a patient. I told them that as a recent college grad, I couldn't afford to pay the (in my opinion, absurdly high) fees, and they told me to take my care elsewhere. On top of this, Dr. Bickman was extremely rude to me. I felt very rushed and belittled by her. She disregarded my health concerns, and I left the office angry and upset. You are better off finding a doctor that isn't going to charge insane fees for subpar care. read more

If I could give this zero stars I would. This office is a SCAM. They give you one great appointment and then say you need to come back to review results. When you arrive to the second appointment, they hit you with a surprise $180 subscription fee that you HAVE to pay to be seen, or you're charged a $125 no show fee. They did not tell me about this $180 fee beforehand. When I asked the receptionist why I wasn't notified of this fee before, she said "it's Dr. Bickman's policy to charge this fee when you arrive for the second visit". Bickman failed to detect an enlarged left ovary due to a cyst during two 1st trimester ultrasound appointments. My specialist doctor told me this at 12 weeks and rushed me to Cedars Sinai to be under the care of the gynecology oncology department. Bickman would not share my medical history and notes from my visit over her dead body. I truly have no idea how her staff could treat a patient like that. I was mocked, verbally abused and neglected. I asked more than 20x for my medical records to be transferred and was denied without any specific reason. They alway said they'd do it, or dr's out. or we did it (lie). I even had my insurance company reach out to mandate Bickman to turn over my records to which Bickman demanded I pay $50. When I paid $50 she scribbled something on a paper, called it my appointment notes and told me to get out of her office. I truly have no idea what I did to deserve this from Bickman. She is a nightmare and must be avoided. I tried to report her actions to the boards but as a new mom I'm exhausted. I had to undergo a major surgery at 20 weeks of pregnancy to removed said left ovary. Please, there are many wonderful, skilled and caring doctors out there. She is running a scam where she charges you more money to get tests, which is more than your Copay and once you get to the doctors appointment, she tries to charge you an extra 450 bucks. I had to get my insurance on the phone to tell them that they can't do this to me and then they eventually refunded me after hours on the phone but they made it a huge pain and when I brought it up to them they were like why are you bringing up a charge from six months ago and I'm like because you shouldn't have charged me. They take your money and then blame you when you bring it up to them. Total scam and beware. They are trying to hide their Google reviews because a lot of people are saying this. read more
