I was charged for 5" trim & lights, exterior outlet covers, fans that never appeared. Also charged for a city inspection that had already been paid for. They left and after one day, half the house was suddenly without power. No breakers were tripped, hmm... Everything worked before they came and then this for 3 days. They charged $125 call out fee and "additional hourly" ($75) to come back to check what the problem was. They updated an outlet for that $150 adding $45 for materials. (outlet = $45). Turns out the problem is that they re-wired half the house onto one 15 amp circuit. Now, an attic fan, 3 closet lights (in 3 rooms), hallway light, bedroom light, foyer light, front porch light, 1 exterior outlet, 5 interior outlets are all on this one newly rewired 15 amp circuit. I can't use the lights and the tv or the fuse trips. I had to call in another company to redo some of their work. The rest is still not working. They removed the old electrical panel putting in a new one for $1500 + materials. Which is great, but.. didn't leave any kind of information about what breakers run what. Oh and another treat, now all the lights in the house dim up and down constantly. I called to ask if they had any ideas on this new dimming and they said , "You probably have a short. They are really difficult to find, we don't do that." Hmm. Didn't dim before. So, all in all I would NOT recommend this company, or at least the specific guys who came to my house. Well, I wouldn't recommend company either, the bills contained false and inflated charges... $45 for one GFI, $55 for a 5" recess can trim (not the installation that was additional, just the trim).

One of several of the projects they recently helped us with was correcting a shortcut made by the electrician (from another company) who wired our home during its construction. Our home-build electrician neglected to make our whole-home surge protection unit visible without needing to remove an electrical panel using tools. Whole-home surge protectors should be checked regularly to ensure they are still protecting your home (the green protected status light should be on). Aloha moved and attached this protector unit from the inside of the electrical panel to the exterior of the electrical panel (the way the protectors are designed to be), so now we can actually see it by simply walking by it. It was a relatively simple and quick fix, but a good example of Aloha noticing a shortcut our other electrician took and offering to fix it/improve it for us. Aloha doesn't take shortcuts. They treat your home as if it were their home. I wish we would have had Aloha Electric wire our entire home at construction. They care soooo much more about doing a good job and what would be optimal for the owner of the home. We have a lot more house-wide electrical projects that we'll be using Aloha for. Mostly correcting things that were too complicated for our home-build electrician, who complained that things like fan and light timer switches, dimmer switches, and USB outlets are too complicated and tried to persuade us either not to do them in all or to do less of them. Even though we had planned out the locations (with specific usages in mind) years in advance and indicated these types of things on our home's detailed electrical floor plan, many did not get done the way we requested. I wish we had found an electrician like Aloha who would listen and shared our vision sooner. Aloha has done great with each of the jobs they've done for us so far. It's clear they take pride in what they do and aim to give you what you want for a reasonable cost. I would highly recommend them for big, tiny, and anything in between electrical jobs.

I offered the solution of suspending the wire from the house to the detached garage and didn't get a quote on the demolition free option. I then just asked to have it put in the cheapest location right next to the panel and that was $1200. When I sent them away, they called back and said they could do $700. The second electrician I called quoted me $298 and did a timely and excellent job. Captain Electric also tried to upwell me on adding new panels making changes to electric panel inside the house which had nothing to do with the hot tub and I said "no". So none of this work was in the numbers above. Finally, they put a big sticker in my panel with their phone number so in an emergency they would be the first name i saw.
