The location was amazing. You're close to some of the best Korean restaurants LA (and perhaps the entire country) has to offer in addition to some great bars. The apartments were also a short walk away from public transportation, including the LA metro, making a very easy commute. The neighborhood is very safe and everything is walkable! Although I did not really encounter any problems when I lived here, the property manager, Sung, was very caring and responsive to all my needs. He goes above and beyond the average expectation of a landlord, and he's also just a really friendly and approachable person. For these reasons, I strongly recommend anyone looking for a place to live in LA to consider staying here!

The building has a club on the ground floor "the LASH" I live on the 5th floor on the other side of the building, I can hear the music and bass perfectly. It wasn't such a problem pre covid but they recently updated their sound system and Thursday-Sunday nights it's hard to sleep. Currently there is a restaurant being renovated that will also be a club at night so if you value sleep you won't be getting much here. I know it's DTLA and you have to deal with noise but if it's not music from the club then you'll have to deal with all the noise from outside during the day since the windows are very thin. If you decide to take a tour don't go into the basement where the laundry machines are, there is an awful smell that hasn't been taken care of for over a year, I attached pictures to show the cause of the problem (meat juice that's overflown the containers from the restaurant space above). I'm sure it will be brushed off as a one time thing and being taken care of-that's a lie. But if you decide to move in pick a unit on the 2nd or 3rd floor because the elevator likes to break down a lot and will have to take the stairs. There is so much trash that piles up on Winston st, one time a homeless man started a fire. If you like that kind of excitement this is the right building for you. The price you pay in rent you could find a cleaner better building with amenities for the same price or a few hundred bucks more. Bottom line, management doesn't care about your concerns or complaints and nothing gets done on time. Previous bad reviews have been taken down so hopefully this isn't flagged or at least encourages management to fix some of the problems

This year, 2025 will be her third year staying in Chez Ronee. We have had great experience so far with the staff at Shrine as they are pretty responsive when it comes to having questions or putting in any maintenance request. One thing I wish is an upgrade to the refrigerator. The fridge is a bit old and can be a little small if all roommates cook as it's the older style fridge, top freezer/ bottom fridge. Utilities are separate from the monthly rent. We paid a little extra so that management team can centralized the utilities fee for us monthly. The apt is a 12min walk to USC village which is convenient. Safety for us is most important. Within the walk from Shrine apt to USC, there is at least 2 "yellow jackets" also known as Dept of Public Safety Security Ambassadors along the way. This location is also within the free Lyft ride zone that USC offers to their students between 6pm to 2am. There is one main door to the apt and then your own apt door. They use the old fashion key system which in a way seems inconvenient at first but it's actually safer. No one can share the code for visitors to come in the hall. There is a gated parking garage under the apt available to residents but parking pass is purchased for the whole year and not monthly. The master bedroom is a good size that can fit 2 twin, 2 tables and come with 2 built in closet. If one is staying alone, the beds can be pushed in together to make a bigger bed. The apt is furnished so that's a plus not having to move furnitures in. We have had awesome experience working with Vanessa (our key contact person) as well as Olga recently. There is an option to do individual lease and renting the entire apt lease. Sometimes Shrine also host free events throughout the year like free such snacks, soda or craft day so that the residents can get to know each other. There is a small fee to get Amazon packages delivered safely to their residential mail boxes so we don't worry about packages getting stolen.

My husband and I have lived in a half dozen apartments all around the country, but Kingsley was undoubtedly our best experience ever: so clean, peaceful, and QUIET. Anyone who's been thru this side of KTown knows these streets can get very noisy, but the windows did a great job of blocking out sounds. (Only recently had noisy neighbors move in, which stopped once we politely knocked to let them know.) Everyone here is friendly and it's a family environment. It's a very small place (only like 70 or 80 units), and it always felt so refreshing coming home to the natural, open air layout and the water sounds. I've also never felt more safe and secure in an apartment community than I did here. There were times I came home alone late at night or forgot to lock the door before bed and never panicked about it because nothing happened. We moved in right as they were switching management, and Paul is the BEST. We've never met a more kind, helpful and efficient apartment manager. (Once while getting ready to go to my own bday dinner, I accidentally locked myself out of our apartment with nothing but my phone and pajamas, and Paul very kindly came to my rescue even after-hours!) He kept the entire place up to the standard that was advertised to us in the tour. What you see there is truly what you get. The only way to level it up would be to maybe have a monthly calendar of neighbor social activities. Our hearts genuinely ache to leave, but we're even more thankful for this experience! This was the first place that really felt like home for us and was equally cherished by all the friends and family that would come over to visit. I thought most of them being posted on the same day was kind of strange, and I now realize I should have paid more attention to that. I was genuinely excited to move into Echo Lofts because I thought I'd found a gem. However, on September 1st, I walked into a complete mess. Before you sign a lease with this property, be sure to read all of their reviews--not just the five-star ones. Before I moved in, I assumed that the property manager would walk through the space with the previous tenant to ensure the space wasn't left in the condition you see in the photos. When I walked in and saw the holes, black fingerprints/footprint (yes, footprint), a black speckled air vent, water damage, and the grimy nature of the apartment, I was shocked and disappointed. If you're wondering if I saw the place beforehand I did. However, when everything is moved and the person doesn't bother to clean up behind themselves you can see how bad a space really is. These issues made it very clear that the person moving out didn't care for the space and that Sky Properties doesn't do their part to maintain their properties. Again this is disappointing, especially since they have these videos and perfect photos posted on YT and their listing pages. They allow their tenants to leave their properties any kind of way. What has been the most disappointing, is the lack of accountability for the former tenants. In addition, management will do nothing to make it right, even if it's as simple as painting the walls so that someone feels comfortable paying a deposit on my new space. No one wants to get stuck paying for someone else's mess. One thing to note about deposits in LA in general which is new to me as I've never had this issue, possibly because of dealing with more flexible landlords. The deposits that are left on the apartment when a tenant moves out will only be given back if all occupants vacate the space. This is their policy. So don't count on getting your deposit back if you and your roommate aren't moving out at the same time. The sucky part is they will not use that to fix anything that a previous tenant left behind. I focused on the pretty photos, videos, and "5-star" reviews. I have learned a valuable lesson that those aren't the best gauge when it comes to how a company cares for its tenants and its property. Since my writing of my review, I did receive a phone call asking what could be done to get me to take my negative review down. They offered to let me out of my lease. However, my stuff has already been moved in by movers, and we all know finding a new place takes time. Not to mention, that option would leave my roommate paying all of the rent. I couldn't do that to them, even given my ongoing disappointment and frustration. The only bright spot in this whole thing has been their head of maintenance. He came by at 7:00 on Friday evening (drove all the way from Reseda in traffic) to look at the air vents and the water damage. He changed all of the air vents, cleaned them off, and he will be back on Monday/Tuesday to paint the water leak spot, which he looked into and said needed no repairs. As a property, I get there are things you don't "have" to do. However, when your old tenant leaves a place in a filthy mess, in good faith, I would hope other property managers would try to meet in the middle. The lease out may have been the middle for them, but that would have left me without a place to live and having to spend more time and money to move out when a paint job and a little maintenance would have done the trick. I have spent all week trying to clean my "new" place that I was SO excited about, which just keeps making me so sad. I have never had a move in experience as challenging and frankly, disgusting as this one, even as a subletter. The rooms I moved into were always in good condition--no footprints on the walls, no filth anywhere. And the landlords always made sure space was in its best condition instead of waiting until they have to fix a problem. I'm grateful for their head of maintenance. He truly made my day yesterday, and you can tell he cares about his work and tenants.

The landlord, Sabrina, is an absolute dream to have on your team. She's personable, she listens, she cares, and she will do what it takes to make you confident in your home. Her team member Alex, is so sweet and hard working. Both of them rock a smile daily, and are very easy to talk to. The building is clean, they keep the units up to date and working efficiently and effectively. I went from a 2 bedroom, to a 1 bedroom over the course of a handful of years. My partner and I at the time were the very first renters to secure a unit in the brand new built complex. It was a virtually perfect living experience for us, and then myself alone in the one bed unit. Better late than never, I HIGHLY recommend this complex as a hop-skip-jump away from Sunset Blvd and all Silver Lake and Echo Park have to offer.
