BS "mandatory" fees.

2-Star Review: Dishonest Pricing Tactics-- Buyer Beware After receiving a quote from this dealership, it became crystal clear how they operate. They advertise vehicles online with massive discounts; in my case, over $7,000 off MSRP, to appear competitive and draw interest. But, once you engage with them, they load the quote with over $6,000 in inflated, questionable fees and "optional" add-ons that were never disclosed upfront. Here's what they tried to sneak in: $1,390 for "Paint Protection" - likely a cheap spray or sealant that costs them next to nothing and offers little long-term benefit. $1,390 for "Fabric Protection" - something like Scotchgard, which can be bought for under $20. That's $2,780 total for basic protections that would cost under $100 to apply yourself, and probably aren't even top-tier products. $1,390 for a "Voltswitch GPS" - a GPS tracker most customers don't request, typically worth around $100. $395 for wheel locks - a $40 accessory available anywhere. $979 for a "Pre-Delivery Service Fee" - essentially charging for vehicle prep already paid for by the manufacturer. $497.50 for an "Electronic Filing Fee" - an absurd fee for DMV paperwork that most dealers charge a fraction of. In total, that's over $6,000 in padded costs. This completely erased the advertised "$7,000 discount." This is a TEXTBOOK bait-and-switch tactic: lure you in with an attractive price, then make up the difference with overpriced, unnecessary extras. When I pushed back, they claimed, "You're still getting $7,000 off MSRP." But that's just smoke and mirrors. I was actually being charged that money back under different names. that is called deception. Worse, I was ready to pay cash, no financing, no trade; just a straightforward, simple transaction. The listing price looked great, but when I asked for confirmation over the phone before driving from Palm Beach to Miami, they refused to discuss anything unless I came in. Eventually, they sent a quote filled with all the above junk fees (none of which were mentioned in the listing.) If they're this deceptive with a cash buyer, imagine what goes on in their service department! Upselling, inflated repairs, unnecessary charges? This is exactly the kind of behavior that gives car dealerships a bad name. It's misleading, unethical, and a complete waste of time. If you're still considering buying here, demand an itemized quote upfront, scrutinize every charge, and be prepared to walk away. Better yet, buy from a dealer that doesn't rely on deception to close a sale. They're out there.

Just got my car serviced at Tropical Chevrolet by my favorite service agent Maria Reyes, she never disappoints me when I bring my car here to get serviced by Tropical Chevrolet, I have a Hyundai Sonata and I refuse to let Hyundai service my car, Tropical Chevrolet and Maria Reyes are the best!!!! Thank you for your excellent service!!!

My go to person at the service department, Maria.

I've been dealing with Chevy since I bought my car and my go to person, Maria at the service department. She's the best!! Whenever my car needs service, I just call and ask for her.

Proof of junk fees added to the advertised price.

BE WARNED! This dealer is dishonest with bait and switch advertising tactics and tying the sale of products. Advertised prices are not honored. They add on multiple fees that they claim are not optional, clearly violating the FTC Anti-Trust Rules and Regulations. Florida Statute Section 501.976(16) clearly states, "The advertised price must include all fees or charges that the customer must pay" "only allowed to exclude sales taxes and other government fees." This dealer is blatantly violating the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act. Further, the Federal Trade Commission finalized the "Combating Auto Retail Scams Rule" (the "CARS Rule"), which addresses the use of bait-and-switch tactics and hidden junk fees in connection with auto sales. I recently went in to purchase a vehicle and was ridiculed by the Used Sales Director Alejandro Trujillo and the Finance Manager Marc Sclafani for asking them to remove these junk fees from the sales contract. I was told they are mandatory fees. Here are some of the junk fees they tried to add to the advertised price. $2,495 ‐ Tropical Advantage Plan $997.39 - Used Car Reconditioning Fee $979 - Doc Fee BE AWARE THESE FEES ARE NOT MANDATORY AND AGAINST THE LAW TO BE FORCIBLY INCLUDED IN ADDITION TO THE ADVERTISED PRICE. If you are or were forced to pay these fees, join me in filing an FTC complaint on this dealer. The violation of any FTC Trade Regulation Rule - including the CARS Rule - could result in provisions that will require a company to change how it does business going forward, to give money back to injured consumers, and to pay civil penalties of as much as $50,120 per violation. https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/#/

Terrible experience, don't walk away from this dealership, run! Horrible customer service from the ground up. I took my truck in for service early February. Truck wouldn't run and gave an error code, Its brand new and under a year old so instead of repairing it myself at my own shop I took it since its under warranty. It was giving a fuel pump error code. I first dealt with Maria Reyes and she told me the fuel system was contaminated with DEF which was impossible as only I ever fuel my truck. She told me the truck required a brand new fuel system and would cost $10,000 but not to worry she said my insurance would cover it which I find very shady. She also sent pics that I'm pretty sure weren't off my truck. I told her its not the fuel system its the fuel pump based on the code. She argued with me that I was wrong so I had the truck towed back to my own shop. I replaced the fuel pump myself and guess what $190 part later and everything has been running like new. I reached out because I was upset and wanted answers and how their professional mechanics could make such an expensive misdiagnosis. I was put intouch with another rude individual the service manager Paul Celestin after I was told an investigation was going to be conducted. I never heard back and reached out multiple timed and still to this day haven't heard back. My last conversation with Paul when I told him how unhappy I was with this investigation and lack of commutation he told and I quote " do what you have to do". Who speaks to customers like this. Especially at a big name dealership. Completely unprofessional if I ran my business like this I wouldn't be open long. Their mistake or eagerness to take advantage of my insurance would've cost me an extra $9,800. Thankfully I have a mechanic shop and the knowledge to know better I can only imagine how many people are blindly trusting these rude crooks daily and being ripped off. I also tried to speak with the general manager Ron Schey but got no response. I have pics of my converation with Maria I'll upload as well.

He is honest, knowledgeable, and always straightforward about what the car actually needs. He never tries to upsell or push unnecessary repairs, which is rare to find in the auto repair world. We service our Mercedes GLE 350 here, and as anyone knows, those repairs are not cheap. But we have always felt the pricing is fair and transparent, and most importantly, trustworthy. Felipe often tells us when something can safely wait instead of rushing to replace parts right away , something many other mechanics wouldn't do. The entire team is friendly, professional, and very upfront. You always feel respected and well taken care of. After six years of consistently great service, we highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for a mechanic they can truly trust. Thank you . Nilza and Peter

Being a woman, mechanics tend to take advantage of my "lack" of mechanic knowledge, but I did not feel that way in this shop. Felipe and his team are passionate about European cars. They are a group of young fellows who actually own cars like mine. Good sign. They took care of replacing the fuel filter and the belt system. Felipe also pointed out some other minor issues I needed to take care of, but overall, I was very satisfied with the results. Obviously, their prices are cheaper than the dealer, but they are a bit high in comparison to other regular mechanics. However, their location is so convenient for me, only 10 minutes from my office, that I will definitely come back.

**1-Star Review - Absolute Disaster - Do Not Take Your Car Here**…read more I wish I had never walked through the doors of MBC Shop d/b/a Napa Auto Care located at 10835 NW 7th Avenue in Miami. What started as a simple coolant issue on my 2014 Land Rover Range Rover Sport turned into a $10,790+ nightmare filled with negligence, deception, and total disregard for customer safety. In November 2024, the low coolant warning came on. They diagnosed a leak, quoted $3,241.77, completed the work, and I paid in full via Zelle. One week later the warning returned. Their representative told me it was probably nothing and that it was safe to keep driving. That advice nearly got me killed. On December 5, 2024, the engine catastrophically failed while I was on I-95, leaving me stranded in traffic with a major safety hazard. I paid $150 for the tow. The car was in their shop for over two months with slow communication and slow progress. They eventually claimed melted pistons and major internal damage, convincing me to pay $7,663 (in four separate Zelle transfers) for a full engine replacement. They even assured me that once repaired, the vehicle would easily sell for $18,000-$19,000. A CarMax appraisal later proved that was completely false--they offered only $6,000. When the car was finally returned in late February 2025, the horn didn't work, the air conditioning wouldn't turn on, and the radio was dead--problems that did not exist before they touched it. These were caused by their sloppy electrical work during the engine swap. They then charged me another $912.71 to "fix" the AC. They also reneged on their promise to cover my 2nd round of car rental car costs while I was without transportation for work and taking care of my young child, sticking me with over $2,000 in rental bills. This shop destroyed my engine through incompetence, lied to get more money out of me, created new problems, and showed zero accountability. I am now demanding full reimbursement of $10,790.71 through my attorney and will be filing complaints with all relevant consumer protection agencies. If you value your vehicle and your safety, stay far away from MBC Shop / Napa Auto Care. They cannot be trusted.
