This Tahoe they got on a trade in even had entertainment system in the back for the kids. Can't say enough good things about the service, straight forward business ethics and overall experience. They have a truck listed on their site for a price. Seems like a good deal so I call them to confirm the price. They say yes that's our price come in. 4 hour drive... don't change the price when I get there, "no sir that's our price". I get there... not the price, price bait and switch. I didn't even ask for a penny off listed price. Just what they have listed on their site while I sit there. No where close. They obviously put prices online with no intention to honor them. Here's what they tried to sneak in: $1,390 for "Paint Protection" - likely a cheap spray or sealant that costs them next to nothing and offers little long-term benefit. $1,390 for "Fabric Protection" - something like Scotchgard, which can be bought for under $20. That's $2,780 total for basic protections that would cost under $100 to apply yourself, and probably aren't even top-tier products. $1,390 for a "Voltswitch GPS" - a GPS tracker most customers don't request, typically worth around $100. $395 for wheel locks - a $40 accessory available anywhere. $979 for a "Pre-Delivery Service Fee" - essentially charging for vehicle prep already paid for by the manufacturer. $497.50 for an "Electronic Filing Fee" - an absurd fee for DMV paperwork that most dealers charge a fraction of. Regardless, I began having battery issues immediately with the car and took it to my local Pompano Beach Chevrolet Dealer. I had replaced two batteries and told the dealership something was a continuous draw on the battery. Turns out, THE DEALERSHIP INSTALLED A 3RD PARTY TRACKER on the car, hooked directly to the battery, causing it to go dead every 2-3 weeks. I traced the tracker purchase back to the dealership where the initial tracker hits began. I found out this is the horrible practice of dirt bag dealerships to track the car in case their investment in the car has issues with the new owner. They are SNAKES in the grass for these kinds of practices. My attorney is reviewing the information now for further action. Terrible experience, don't walk away from this dealership, run! Horrible customer service from the ground up. I took my truck in for service early February. Truck wouldn't run and gave an error code, Its brand new and under a year old so instead of repairing it myself at my own shop I took it since its under warranty. It was giving a fuel pump error code. I first dealt with Maria Reyes and she told me the fuel system was contaminated with DEF which was impossible as only I ever fuel my truck. She told me the truck required a brand new fuel system and would cost $10,000 but not to worry she said my insurance would cover it which I find very shady. She also sent pics that I'm pretty sure weren't off my truck. I told her its not the fuel system its the fuel pump based on the code. She argued with me that I was wrong so I had the truck towed back to my own shop. I replaced the fuel pump myself and guess what $190 part later and everything has been running like new. I reached out because I was upset and wanted answers and how their professional mechanics could make such an expensive misdiagnosis. I was put intouch with another rude individual the service manager Paul Celestin after I was told an investigation was going to be conducted. I never heard back and reached out multiple timed and still to this day haven't heard back. My last conversation with Paul when I told him how unhappy I was with this investigation and lack of commutation he told and I quote " do what you have to do". Who speaks to customers like this. Especially at a big name dealership. Completely unprofessional if I ran my business like this I wouldn't be open long. Their mistake or eagerness to take advantage of my insurance would've cost me an extra $9,800. They employ a company called Quality Auto Tint to tint there customers vehicles and the warranty is a lifetime one so they say but it is not! For ages I took our work vehicles to this location for service and it was great, but lately they don't even answer the phone. The final nail in the coffin was when I tried to make my latest service appointment and I called their service and it went to voicemail (with no message) all day, then the next day I contact sales to ask how to get ahold of service and they kept transferring me and nobody answered. I've been in that dealership, sales is right next to service, so service wasn't answering their phone and sales is too lazy to walk 20ft to service and say "hey this person has been trying to get you for two days". Tropical Chevrolet is the epitome of false advertising / bait & switch. On August 18, 2022 I was browsing for vehicles online when I noticed a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado for sale (Dealer Stock number R17533A) for sale for $30,894. I asked for a trade in estimate and a salesman with the name of Javier contacted me. We texted about me coming in and I agreed to come in on 08/19/2022. I checked the ad again on the morning of the 19th and the price was still the same for said vehicle, $30,894. When I texted Javier that I was on the way I was told a salesman named Omar would assist me. We met at the dealership and he showed me the aforementioned vehicle. Before I test drove it, I pointed out a collision spot that the truck had on the front driver side from an accident which was not repaired, and Omar stated the manager would "take care of it". Mind you, there is no mention of the fact that the vehicle needs repairs. They proceeded to estimate my trade in value and presented me with some numbers. When I saw the paper, directly under the advertised sales price, which was accurate, was a total protection fee of $3,999. I asked Omar what this was and he stated "this is a fee to get the vehicle ready for you, get new tires, remove any dings, etc". This is ironic considering the vehicle still had damage from an accident clearly visible. I thought initially this was some sort of "extended warranty" so I asked, "well this is optional, correct?". Omar stated "No, we had to put new tires on it". I stated "That should have been added to the sales price beforehand, not once I'm here". I said "I'm assuming the dealer fee is included in this fee", to which Omar agreed. I looked on the rest of the paper and just saw the taxes and title fees, etc. I said I wanted more money for my trade in (irrelevant) and he went back to his manager. Omar comes back with a new paper, and he stated his manager is considering cutting the "fee" in half, to almost $2,000 for a phantom fee that nobody can tell me what it is. Additionally, I noticed that this new paper for this new "Deal" had an additional dealer fee now included! So, even with the "deal" of getting half off this random $3,999 fee, now they added an additional dealer fee of $979.00 that Omar previously stated was included in the total protection fee. I point this out to Omar and he stated the other paper had the dealer fee. I stated to Omar that it was not in there and that I wanted to see the other paper. Omar now states he doesn't have it, conveniently. I stated to Omar that I was going to pay the advertised price, advertised dealer fees ($979.00) and taxes, and not anything extra. Omar then stated that I should have looked at the fine print in the ad, because they are allowed to change the pricing if they want to. I said ok, so the price in this truck changed once I got here? (This becomes relevant after I speak to the manager). The manager came out and stated that "he was losing money on this deal and that he can't sell the truck for that low". I stated in understood but you advertised a price, and once I'm here you're jacking up the price. I said "call it whatever you want, the $3,999 fee is a surcharge, correct?". The manager then confirmed that it was indeed a surcharge. I stated how can they advertise a car for one price, and then once I get here jack up the price by $3,999! I stated "if I pay cash for this car right now, you are not going to sell me this truck for the advertised price?". They said they would not. He stated there was nothing he could do and that he didn't want to lose money on the deal. They still never even mentioned anything about fixing the damage on the truck I was considering to buy, so this was obviously still not going to happen. I then asked about a different truck that they had which I considered, a 2016 Silverado (white) on sale an advertised price of $28,495 (dealer stock number P3819). They showed me a separate paper for that truck and guess what, it also had the $3,999 fee to it. In turn, it wasn't just the truck that I was looking at that went up in price, it's clearly a flat fee they charge anyone that comes is and yet is not advertised anywhere on their website. This dealership has over 30 trucks in stock at the time of writing this, so it's clearly not in short supplies. I left the dealership promptly after seeing the practices they engage in. Tropical Chevrolet in Miami is clearly advertising false online sales price and then adding phantom surcharges due to the "market" AFTER the customers arrive at the dealership. Classic bait and switch, false advertising. I have screenshot images of their ads and their "fine print", which make no mention of any $3,999 fee. Update 1/22/2024 Unfortunately I had to come back to this awful service center because the battery that was installed 16 months ago Died and I had a 42 month warranty on it. Even with the Warranty you still have to pay the labor so it came out to $50, they took 2.5 hours replace the battery, actually it was about 30 minutes less than that because I saw the car pull up from the service center to the front desk but my service advisor was on lunch and for some reason none of the other 3-4 service advisors are capable of checking me out so i can go on with my day. Update again for 01/22/2024 Couple hours after my car was handed off to me any everything was done, Maria my 'service advisor' decided to call me from her cell phone because she just found out about the previous negative review I wrote the week prior, she went on to say her manager just told her about it and that MY REVIEW DOES NOT EFFECT THE COMPANY IT EFFECTS HER. I immediately hung up because I do not care, nor should she be calling me from her cell phone to mine to harass me about a negative review that has impacted her. She than text me to call her back. Quisieron vendernos un auto usado del año 2018 por $18,832 ojo el mismo carro en mejores condiciones y con menos recorrido lo encontramos en $12,500. A demás de eso nos cobraban fees innecesarios y solo en fees salía casi $5,000 "dándonos un descuento de $4,000" mismos que recuperaban con dichos fees. Por suerte me crié en un ambiente de autos por mi papá y se el calor que tienen los autos y cómo se devalúan dependiendo las condiciones en las que se encuentren. En fin muy mala experiencia. BUYER BEWARE. I'm currently trying to buy a used vehicle from this place. The ones I've spoke to do not seem very transparent. They put you on hold and never come back to the phone. After days and days and days of trying to make a purchase.. They Say they will call you back but never do. I've had to give up because every phone call they go up on price.. they not return calls as they said. Sunday June 12th they said the vehicle is in service. Then Monday they say it's at a paint and body shop being repaired. It's been on there lot for 60 to 90 days before I showed any interest. No one at the dealership want to tell me what happen to the truck of why it's at paint and body shop. They seem so secretive. they add A fee to my buy order that said tropical fee of $2,900.00. And they had other fees they added. What is tropical fee? Even though vehicle has now been damaged they do not want to disclose what happen or how it happen or when it happen. And with the new damage they don't won't to reduce the price because of the damage there actually going up on the price because it was damaged on there lot while in there possession. BUYERS BEWARE PLEASE. Having a horrible experience, the only way I'd ever remove all this truth is they must be honest, transparent and I need to feel as they have earned my business. I will update this as I'm still dealing with their unfair acts. Maybe they will become a business that is more about earning someone's business. I feel terrible to be forced to write a bad review but I'm only doing it in hopes it saves someone from major head aches. To much run around secretes and ignorance at this location. I told him what I was dealing with with this Miami dealership, He told me about the great flood they just had last week and sent me a link to cars floating down the streets. So now I know what and why this dealership was being secretive about. I bet they will not be honest to who ever buys it that it has now been in a flood.
