Very bad experience with Tropical Glass. I had mirror replaced on 4 cabinets, costing over $500. One of the mirrors developed a defect after only 3 months and they would not replace. Very poor customer service! Do not use them. Overpriced and poor quality. read more

Best service in town!! I recycled a table glass top for an old wicker dresser in my bedroom after trying three other places I ended up at Tropical Glass. My glass was very thick (1/5") I was told that they're willing to try cutting it but cannot make any guarantee because of the thickness of the glass. ( there was a high possibility it could break or crack) I was willing to try! It came out better than I expected!! The price to cut the glass was also very reasonable. Unbelievably professional!! I had a glass kitchen shelf that needed cut due to changing the cabinet and found them by recommendation of Ace Hardware. They were precise in the actual measurement based on my template and said they would try to cut it through it might not work due to the glass. They brought it to me literally a minute or two later and handed me the shelf and comped the fee. Just placed it in the cabinet and it's perfect!! TERRIBLE WORKMANSHIP. Toby came out and gave us an estimate for a no-frills mirror in the bathroom. He quoted us $390 for a (28.5"x35")(+/-) mirror installed. Despite that exorbitant quote, we accepted it expecting a quality job for that price. The mirror, however, was installed so poorly. There was no consideration on how it looked against a wall. For that kind of money, I expected artistry but all I got was a slip-shoddy, and I stretch the definition of the word, workmanship. Sorry but cannot recommend this company. read more

I just want to say..WOW! The job that Tropical Glass did for me at my house was AWESOME! I just redid my master bathroom and it was quite a challenge to make the shower doors work with the odd space I had.Bruce from Tropical Glass was able to make my dream a reality where no one else could. He took the time to make up several plans and provided me with options. These guys really care about service and are super perfectionists!!! The also, put in some new Glass tops and a new mirror for my living room. You can definitely trust these guys and their prices were very fair. Awful customer service, while complaining about the four times they tried to install a simple shower enclosure I was informed about "47 years of business they have been in". After speaking to Jill and giving them a $1000 deposit on a $1300 job, at my own discretion the job is still not done going in to month three they want to come back a fifth time and I simply will not allow it. BUYER BEWARE!!! Don't go to these people for glass!! Shady and bad business practice! We visited the storefront counter and received a quote ($375) in writing from "Gene" the general manager, for some glass to cover two desks in our home office. We then scheduled an appointment for a sales rep "Yonel" to come out to our home and measure the desks (just to get it right). After doing so this sales rep told us the original quote was wrong and it would cost almost 3 times the amount originally quoted to us ($980). The measurements were all done right but this rep said it would cost more just because he had to come out and measure and polish and blah blah blah. He went on trying to make the job seem bigger than what it really was. Mind you on the quote given by the general manager, it stated, "includes measuring, polishing and delivery". Finally after four frustrating days of leaving messages trying to reach this "Gene" back at the shop and not receiving any return calls, I managed to get him on the phone. He told us he had looked over the quote that he had originally given us but couldn't explain how he arrived at those figures. He said he WOULD NOT honor the quote he gave us, and the best he could do was $820!! My parents did business with Tropical Glass when I was a kid and when I needed new window installations, I called them. Yonel came out for an estimate exactly when he said he would be there. (I expected to give them about a three-hour "window" because, hey, this is service in Miami). He gave me an estimate for window replacements and installation of a front glass door and I thought it was pricey. I told him I was going to get other estimates and I thanked him for his time. He was gracious and did not offer any additional information. In my research for another company I found the following: 1) Other companies do not give an honest quote from the get-go. I Tropical does. I noticed items on the Tropical estimate that were not included on other quotes. When I inquired with the others about it, they agreed that it should have been included, but "they don't typically put it in an initial estimate" (Oh, great, so surprise me later!) 2) Some other companies quotes came in higher. 3) One company came two hours later than the agreed-upon time, with no phone call or notice that the estimator was running late. The other company was just a no-show. SO I had to call and reschedule. They came a DAY later than they were supposed to. 4) The estimators/sales reps from Tropical are ALSO the installers, unlike other companies. That means that the guy telling you what is needed for the job is the guy who has experience actually doing the work. I've lived in South Florida my entire life and I am used to unreliable contractors and shoddy workmanship. I am also in a line of work that is closely connected to the construction business, so I know whe I'm dealing with a business that is honest and reliable. Tropical Glass has been in business a long time, and that's for a good reason. I will definitely call them again, If I can figure out how to post pictures to Yelp, I'll put up a picture of my beautiful new impact glass front door. read more
