    Churrasco with trifongo

This was honestly one of those places that was kind of an afterthought. Basically everything in Rincon slows or closes on a Monday. However, had we known and eaten here earlier in the weekend, we probably would have returned before we left. It still has that PR slow pace, but the waitresses were friendly, and the food was very nice. If i remembered their names I would call them out, but whoever was working tonight was on point. The cremosa de aji sauce reminded me of a creamy garlic soup I had made at one time. They had a special churros with trifongo that was killer, and alcapurrias on special that were yuca or plantain.

    Sharkkkkkkk!!

My husband really wanted to try the shark so we made sure to make a stop here. From what I was told you can find shark in and around Rincon and surrounding areas. My husband ordered the shark in garlic sauce, I had a variety of empanadas and a red homemade sangria. So here comes the shark. Being the clown I am, I had to play the JAWS themesong for my husband as food came. It looks like a regular filet of fish. No weird smell and it taste like chicken. Just kidding but I had a tiny piece and it had a bacalao aka cod fish taste. Not bad. My empanadas were delicious and the sangria was muy bueno! Very homey, open air restaurant with good service and nice people. They have a nice menu to cater to a lot of different tastes.

Don't let the open air seating and casual set prevent you from stopping here. This spot is tried and true!!!! Been eating here for years each time we visit and EVERY time the food delicious, service wonderful, and the Medalla's ice cold. Located on 115 opposite the turn to Villa Cofresi and right next to Bonet Liquor, it's our favorite go to especially after the beach. Some people like to travel further to Kaplash for empanadas but we actually prefer them here (the shrimp is my personal favorite).

Great food. I had a meat dish. Wonderful. Most seasoned beans since I've been here (12 days). And you willl definitely have some to take home. I ordered the special. $8

I really enjoyed this place. They have daily specials amd fresh juices. They have a very large parking area too. We had a couple things off the menu but i think the best iteam i ordered were the beans. The amount of flavor in it was astonishing! I really liked the waiter we had, she was very sweet and attentive even though she had the whole restaurant to just herself. The beers are about 3 bucks each and the meals can be inexpensive if you scoured the menu well the way i did. I suggest everyone go here and end with a tres leches!

Absolutely the best comida criollo we had in Puerto Rico. This is a small outdoor place on the east side of the street, I believe it's near the Econo. It's just a hole in the wall where local people make fantastic local cuisine. I had the yuca ajilla, tostones pan, carne (pork) mofongo and conch empanadillas. They were all wonderful. You also can't beat the environment. If you want to know what Puerto Rico is like, eating delicious native food outdoors while being serenaded by the surrounding coqui can't be beat, except when two of the locals pulled out a guitar and started performing simply because they felt like it. Also, try the tres leches cake for dessert! It's so moist they have to serve it in a bowl!

Breakfast Omelette- was great. I had tomato, onions, no peppers, and bacon. You can choose from adding bacon or ham. Decent but not mind blowing. Pancakes- you get multiple pancakes in the stack. They were nice and fluffy. I did wish there was some more whipped cream on the plate, which are the dollops next to it in my picture. It came with a little plastic container of syrup. Spanish omelette- had like 0 eggs in it, I expected an omelette with potatoes but it was just potatos and tortilla. Not bad just not expected. Appetizers and sides Potatoes- good Mofongo- pretty good. A little dry but I think it maybe is supposed to be like that. Great with the chicken and rice stew. Bean soup- the rice was salted, which I did not know. I put the rice in the soup to tone down the salt, but I accidentally made it even saltier. The only appetizer I would not get again if they continue to salt the rice. Beans and rice- good Lunch and dinner meals Red snapper - good, came with a side of your choice. I chose beans and rice. Rice was good and fluffy. The beans were tasty. The snapper came with a rich sauce and some vegetables. Fish Tacos- very good. I enjoyed this very much with a green local hot sauce that came if you asked for hot sauce. I would get this again if I came back. This was on the bar menu I think. Nachos- came in a big portion. Very large and good. Salad- ok. Rice and chicken stew- good. Tasted very homey and comforting like something grandma would make. There were chicken bones that you have to watch out for though. Pasta primavera- based on googling primavera pasta beforehand, I was expecting a light pasta entree, but this was smothered in butter and cheese, which was very heavy and not at all what I expected. It was tasty though, but very rich. Drinks Strawberry frappe- (non alcoholic version) tasted like an elevated slushie. It tasted like it was made from a strawberry syrup instead of fresh strawberries. Pina colada- (non alcoholic version) a good pina colada.

Sitting right by the water with the waves splashing up at you is epic, especially around sunset. The setting alone feels like it should be an unforgettable dining experience. Unfortunately, the service has consistently been unfriendly and unwelcoming, which really takes away from the atmosphere. The food has been marginal at best--fine, but not memorable, and not quite what you'd expect given the location and potential of the space. It's worth stopping by for the view (and the waves) alone, but I wouldn't come here specifically for the food or service. With friendlier staff and better food, this place could be something really special.

It was perfect for our filling selections. My Garlic Dorado dish was fantastic. Fresh garlic delivered rich aroma and made my mouth watery upon arrival. The mash was moist and balanced. We decided to order various appetizers for our last night in town. The queso frito was one of the best I've had during this trip. Most places serve it with guava sauce, but here it is mayo-ketchup. Unfortunately, they did not have lobster or crab, so we ordered steak empanada (our favorite), chicken and dorado (our least favorite). The side of trifongo was good, as was the rice.
