Good price but they will charge you $15 per child and $10 for parking. Also $25 for late check in after midnight. There was plenty of of late night activity in the parking lot that didn't feel very safe but nothing happened. The beds were comfy and we thought the room to be clean but woke up to a couple cockroaches. That alerted us it was time to check out. We wanted to use the pool but decided against it. Not sure we will be back.

Too many rules and too strict for what they offer The hotel is okay for the price - but there's a $10 parking fee which is not clearly informed on booking.com They send a message with all the extra fees they charge for everything but dont mention parking. The bedspread is not changed with every guest and it was disgusting. Towels were pretty old and beaten. Its convenient if you're going to Baycare Sound though. Only 5 min drive or 30 min walk on a flat route

Definitely a little piece of paradise. From checkin to checkout, we had a great stay here at the Tropical Inn. Before we arrived, the owner called us to make sure we were arriving before 10:00 pm since we were checking in a little later than 3:00 pm. He was super friendly on the phone and just as friendly in person. The room was very nice and the location is central to Clearwater beach and all the restaurants we wanted to go to in Dunedin. The facilities were kept up and updated very nicely, from the artificial turf to the updated flooring in the rooms. I chose this hotel on Booking.com not only for the price and location but because of the rating. It definitely lives up to its 9.1. It's not high class fancy by any means but it's a modest indulgence. 10 in my book! Tip: take your family photo in front of the gorgeous Bird of Paradise mural by the front desk/pool area!

We were looking for an affordable place to stay while friends visited from Oregon. I found the Tropical Inn and Suites online and figured to give it a try. The price was definitely affordable and significantly less than staying in downtown Tampa. First impressions: Though there is road improvement going on, the hotel stood out as a light and bright small complex off Cleveland Street. After checking in, we went to inspect the room. OMG, I don't think I've been in a cleaner hotel room, even ones that cost hundreds of dollars! The room has colorful appointments and has a friendly feeling. The shower has beautiful tile and is very spacious. There's a small table and two chairs for snacking, and a desk to work. The bed is comfortable and sheets are equally pristinely clean. The place is so clean that I don't feel like I have to wear my sandals in the room! That said, the low cost means limited amenities. No included breakfast and no in-room coffee maker. But there is a local organic supermarket a couple of blocks away with very good coffee. The room has a microwave and refrigerator. The kidney-shaped pool area is very clean, albeit not heated. Everything is in excellent condition. All in all, this is a real gem close to downtown Clearwater in a very cute area. The new sidewalk that was installed as part of the road construction is very wide and facilitates waling to local places. I'd stay here again and again!

Place is severely overpriced for what it is. It is a slightly nicer version of a Motel 6. They charge $150 a night for a place that is maybe worth $50 per night. I get it that it is a touristic place and hotels on the beach cost 400 dollars a night, but at that price point you should be able to offer something more. Instead there was a dead dried-up roach on display in our room, housekeeping was not done when I asked "because of Covid" which is totally BS in a State like Florida where everything has been open for a year. I travel in Blue States under lockdowns in the past year and housekeeping was performed! When I asked for fresh towels I was also told I had to pay $3 per towel, which is total craziness. No trash was collected and we accumulated it in our room over the course of 2 days. Totally lazy and cheap. No cable channels and room is probably 150 sqf, NOT 300! No trashcans or ashtrays anywhere on public grounds, no vending machines, no coffee machine in the room for the price of a suite in Vegas! A towel was on the pool deck for 2 days and the backyard was full of trash, as no bins were provided. Better off sleeping in your car. RIP OFF.

The hotel itself is beautiful and centrally located on Clearwater Beach with just a short walk across the street to the beach. We booked two suites , a 2 queen private rooftop terrace suite with a full kitchen and a poolside king suite with a kitchenette which were spacious and perfect for our large gathering. The rooftop terrace was definitely a highlight, and the hotel is within walking distance to restaurants, the pier, playgrounds, and shops. I also liked that the pool is on the 8th floor with a great view and access limited to hotel guests only. Pool chairs were very comfortable, towels were unlimited with no towel card system, and beach cabana/umbrella rentals were half off for guests. The hot tub being on the 16th floor separate from the pool didn't make much sense though. Room service was daily, and I appreciated being able to text the front desk instead of calling. I highly recommend using the text feature and keeping everything in writing because there were discrepancies regarding credits we were promised. There were unfortunately several maintenance and service issues during our stay. The living room TV constantly glitched and wouldn't sync properly even after maintenance attempted to fix it. More importantly, the AC completely stopped working in the rooftop terrace suite for hours while we hosted about 25 guests for the graduation party. Everyone was hot and sweaty in almost 100-degree indoor conditions. Thankfully the terrace breeze helped, but being offered only a $100 credit for such a major issue during a once-in-a-lifetime celebration felt insufficient! The parking garage situation was also frustrating. We were told our vehicles could enter and exit freely with the resort fee, but every time we tried leaving, the room keys and garage passes failed. We repeatedly went back to front desk to get new passes and had to pay $40 to exit then contact customer service afterward for refunds such a waste of vacation time Customer service overall was very hit or miss. Some employees were wonderful while others seemed miserable and unfriendly. The onsite coffee shop was particularly disappointing I'd recommend walking across the street from The front lobby to the real Starbucks instead. At times it felt like the hotel relies heavily on its excellent location and beach proximity rather than consistent service standards.Coming from previous stays at Sandpearl Resort, I personally would still choose Sandpearl for smaller family vacations. However, I will say this hotel offers more flexibility for large gatherings and easier garage access compared to Sandpearl's valet-only setup. That said, between the AC outage, power issues in BOTH suites floor 8 and 17, lukewarm water, TV problems, phone problems, garage charges, and inconsistent customer service, I would probably try another Clearwater Beach hotel next time. We still made wonderful graduation memories and the location, spacious suites, rooftop terrace, and beach convenience were definitely the highlights of our stay.

And not one spider or bug on that balcony the whole week we were there! Five stars just for that! All staff were very friendly, in fact I believe it was a manager that bought me and my husband drinks after we walked down 15 flights of stairs during a fire alarm. (I swear nobody else even heeded the alarm, we were the only one in the stairwell). We only ate breakfast in the main restaurant (which was good), but we did have room service a couple of times and enjoyed the rooftop bar, The Tropico, for food and drinks. (The kids menu burgers and fries was plenty for me!) All were good experiences. Hotel is in walking distance of so many restaurants, shops and of course, the pier. We only hung out on the beach one day with the loungers and cabana. I was a little disappointed that they weren't included in the stay. The cost was $30 per day. Otherwise I was content to hang out on the loungers at the pool. A store called Surf Style is just a couple of doors down that has besides clothing, your snacks, drinks and all the tourist goodies.

I did not feel safe staying here. The sliding door didn't lock. The AC was loud and kept us up. Will NOT be back. To the business owner: continually commenting that these frustrations will be brought up to management is not a proactive stance on getting your systems in place. Especially that you reply to everyones negative review exactly the same. I hope you reassess your responsibilities as a manager.

PROS; -Walkable to just about everything! We didn't rent a car for our trip so it was perfect to be able to access nearby restaurants, shops, and more all on foot. -The pool deck is very large, well kept, and very well staffed. Tons of lounge chairs and umbrellas. Everyone working there was so dang nice! You can receive pool-side service for food & drink, or head up to the attached bar to grab what you need. Definitely a little on the pricey side, but a lot of good options. -We booked a one-bedroom suite and it was delightful! Sooo spacious, likely more than we needed. It was super clean and modern. Very nice, updated bathrooms and walk-in glass showers. Our patio was also huge, providing beautiful views of the Mandalay Channel. Beds were comfy, and they even so kindly provided us with a cot/crib for our youngest. Hugee for parents - that was super appreciated! -Literally every single person working there that we interacted with was beyond sweet! Five-star service and friendliness from all staff. CONS: -Little to no cleaning service in the room (unless requested??). Maybe I missed how this works, but it was a little of a bummer having overflowing trash cans and dirty dishes we weren't sure what to otherwise do with. They were very quick to bring fresh towels upon request, however! -Given the size of our suite, we would have loved to have a few extra usable items in the kitchen area, like any kind of napkins/paper towels, silverware, and soap do to a little washing up. Surely don't expect it to be fully stocked with appliances and plateware, but it seemed a little odd how big it was with truly nothing to use it for. All in all, we would absolutely stay here again, and would most certainly recommend it to others (especially families). Thanks for a great stay!

The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful, with stunning design and a relaxing atmosphere that made the whole stay feel like a true getaway. There are so many amenities to enjoy, which really elevates the experience and makes it feel like a true luxury stay. The only downside for me was that there isn't a sauna, which is something I usually expect at a hotel of this level. It's a small miss, but worth noting. Instead, we encountered poor communication, disorganization, and management that seemed incapable of delivering the experience their luxury rates promise. Our room wasn't ready until 8:30 p.m., leaving us waiting more than five hours. Once we finally got in, our luggage wasn't delivered as promised, the room phone didn't work, and maintenance had to make multiple trips to replace it before we could even begin to settle in. By the end of the evening, we still hadn't had a chance to unpack, shower, or relax after a full day of travel. The valet experience was equally disappointing--disorganized, unprofessional, and lacking even the most basic customer service. The mattress was also among the most uncomfortable I've ever slept on. The only employees who reflected the Marriott brand were the bartenders and the maintenance technician. Everyone else, including management, seemed indifferent to the issues we experienced. Luxury hotels command premium prices because guests expect premium service. This property delivered neither. I left frustrated, exhausted, and wondering how this hotel is allowed to carry the JW Marriott name. There are far better options in Clearwater.

Randy in the Mainstays Tavern took VIP-like care of us every time we visited, as did Lexi during our dinner. Jordan out folding all the pool towels. David maybe giving rides via golf cart to beach - very nice and appreciated. I also want to thank staff for the thoughtful birthday note and the "sun and fun" package waiting in our room. There was just too many things that left us disappointed on our first trip here. There are 2 EV charging spots which was a lifesaver this trip and being a trolley stop was absolutely amazing for getting over the bridge into Clearwater Beach stress free. We saw pictures of a tennis and pickleball court online but those have been demolished and replaced by a grassy area :(. Thankfully sand bay tennis park is less than a mile away and the trolley does stop there. 3 volleyball courts which were great and sunsets 10/10! The Easter Egg hunt was a fun and unexpected treat for the kids :) well organized. I checked in early on the app, knowing it was a holiday weekend and there may not be rooms available early. We were able to pick up wristbands right away but we later found out these were not watched or enforced anywhere. In fact, you do not even need a key to enter the building from the pool/beach. I believe this added to the insane crowding at the pool. Could not find a pool chair at ALL - very stressful and had to set our belongings on the ground in order to swim. They could not keep up with the towels either and by 3-4PM, you could not get one at all. The pool bar had short hours and the line was insanely long every day. The pool bar shared the same line as ordering the food truck food which added to that chaos as well. On Friday the food truck shut down early as well. There was one water dispenser in the lobby but it was always empty. I felt like a bother asking the mainstay tavern for water. The food there was very good and we ordered to go. The gym was amazing 10/10. The beds were AWFUL 0/10 they are on a platform with absolute no give at all - ROCK hard!!! Had to walk across the street to the other Marriott location to get espresso coffee. The extra charges are too much - says $30/night to park but after taxes and fees it is $35 a night and $25 a night for the resort fee which doesn't cover anything but bikes as the trolley is already free. It is $45 to rent 2 chairs and an umbrella at the beach. The resort fee should offset this cost!!!!! The location is amazing but these extra charges are just too much and our stay left a lot to be desired. I also had a fraud charge immediately following paying for parking even though I used the QR code at the front desk and have not used that credit card for any other purchases - I wish this was charged directly through the hotel instead. It is not gated.
