The flatbread that they serve here is one of the worst food items you could ever get at a fast food spot. First of all, they put almost 0 chicken and it all happens to just be at the very bottom of the flatbread. They also put a a lot of cold cheese that never even gets close to melting. The bread itself is toasted way too long and just completely burnt. The açai bowl is decent. The way they serve. It gets the granola too soft by putting all the wedding ingredients on top of it. Service itself was fine, however, staff are just sitting at the tables that patronseat at, so it was pretty slow for any of them to come take my order. Ambiance is average. Service was absolutely the worst! The girl only spoke to ask if I wanted whey or pea protein and then it was in a mumble so low I had to ask her to speak louder. I come here all the time. It has become one of my regular spots. I often get a smoothie plus the peanut butter banana crunch flatbread. It's a breakfast item but you can get it all day. It is pita bread with peanut butter spread all over it, banana slices and granola thrown in, plus drizzled with honey. So yum. Today I got the peanut butter cup smoothie with yogurt added. The yogurt makes any of their smoothies a lot creamier. I love it. I didn't know I could add yogurt til a couple of months ago. Best discovery ever. I tried the chicken bacon ranch flatbread sandwich last time I was here. It's very much more savory than the banana thing I usually get. It's a nice change up for me. It was good. I ate it all. That means I liked it. I like this place pretty good. It's conveniently located at the corner of Sam Ritt and 61. It's right next to Metro Diner in the same shopping center as Barnes & Noble. Try it out next time you're around. It's worth the visit, especially if you like smoothies. read more

They took forever to take our order. They sat in the dining area eating their food and drinking smoothies as we stood there waiting. The girl who took our order had her finger in her mouth while taking our order. She then proceeded to make our smoothies without washing her hands. The 4 girls working October 18 talked for 10 minutes before they made our smoothies. They were complaining about their jobs and talking about walking out one day the whole time. Absolutely no greeting or any pleasantries. What looked like the manager had an AirPod in her ear while talking to a customer. The dining room was disgusting. Terrible experience. read more

I've been here on and off since they opened and I have never had any issues. I have done mobile ordering and ordered in the cafe, both with ease. I am always able to customize my smoothie and I really, really love their salsa that comes with the quesadilla. I've only had two smoothies (pom plunge and a sunshine or sunrise something) but they are so good it's hard for me to stray and try something else! The parking lot is a bit hard to get in and out if they are slammed, and it is always crowded in store during prime lunch time, but they work quickly and clear it out pretty fast. My first time ordering from Tropical Smoothie Cafe and I ordered through Uber eats. I ordered the green goddess plant-based wrap and received real chicken. I was supposed to get a side of sweet potatoes but did not receive it. I also ordered a hummus wrap but the lettuce was dark and wilted. I called the manager and she checked with the kitchen and confirmed that it was indeed real chicken that they put on my wr and said they were sorry but the cook is a new guy. She asked if I could come there to pick up another order. I explained to her that I'm at work and can't just leave, which is why I ordered delivery. She started talking over me reiterating that the kitchen guy was new. So I tried to get a word in to say regardless of how new your cook is, how can we rectify this situation? She let out an exasperated sigh and hung up on me and refused to answer when I called back. Wow! Very poor, I'll-equipped management skills. Inferior at best. I really really wanted to like this place and all the healthy options, but it was just eh for me. I checked in and while there were a few customers and what looked like a full staff of about 5 employees. I figured out what I wanted right away but the people I was with had a more difficult time because so many options looked good. I ordered my Caesar salad bowl with chicken and was offered an apple, an orange, or chips as a side item, then a chicken Caesar wrap with an orange as the side item, and last a chicken Apple club sandwich but with no bacon and no cheese and apple as the side item, and a sunrise smoothie. From when we placed the order, it was about 35/40 min wait until it came out. I always check my take out orders and thankfully I did because they forgot the side fruit that had been offered for all 3 orders. My salad was good, but it was way smaller than I expected and they forgot the dressing. The Caesar wrap was good. The chicken apple club came with the bacon that was requested to not be included. They then remade that sandwich for another 8-10 minutes. So long story short, this is a new business and they might need a bit longer to get in the groove because sadly the only thing that went smoothly was the smoothie. read more

Tropical smoothie is one of my favorite quick service places to eat - so when this location opened up, of course I had to try it out! The food is very consistent and tastes great. This place is always packed around lunch time, but I have never had to wait too terribly long for my food and/or smoothie. Be aware that parking can be hard to find, especially so during peak hours. There are a lot of businesses in this shopping center so I'll usually grab the first spot I can get even if I have to walk a little bit! read more

My wife and I really like Tropical Smoothie! I have been to the West Ashley location twice since they've opened. Once today and once when they first opened. I love that they have lots of healthy and fresh choices and that they have calorie counts of everything on their menu. We've had great experiences both times. Today, I had the buffalo chicken wrap which was on point! I think people are too quick to bash new businesses and typically only come to Yelp to complain. I stopped in for a smoothie on the way to work this morning because I didn't feel like going to the "other" smoothie place on the same street, and this one is closer to my office. I've been to a TSC before, but this is the first one in West Ashley, so I kind of knew what to expect. I ordered the triple berry oat smoothie because I was feeling like I needed something really healthy today. It was prepared quickly and checkout was smooth. My reasons for not giving a 5 star? When I walked in, I was barely greeted because they were working on the one other customer order in the café, and when I checked out, there was no discussion about if I had the TSC app, was a rewards member, or anything brought up to address the potential for me to come back. Small stuff, I know, but it makes a difference and is what would keep me from going to the "other" smoothie place up the street. I feel like every time I go here I need to watch how they make my smoothie. I order no sugar and protein every time (3 times now) 2 out of three I noticed they didn't add protein and the last time they added sugar. The employees are always nice enough but they really just don't seem to care enough to read the ticket. After I ask them if there was protein added ( even though I know there wasn't ) they say "it wasn't on the ticket" then I ask them to read again and they find it. Usually I have to go to work so can't have them remake it. I gave them 3 strikes but now they are out. read more

Their smoothies are delicious and very healthy, their food is made in perfect portions, their food is fresh, and they make it very quickly!
