Not the best place to stop. The food is okay. The service not so much. I watched one customer leave because no one ever acknowledged him. They were rude and acted like servicing you is a burden. Sunshine sunset smoothie, it was so good; I had it twice in one day! I wasn't feeling well, and wanted to get some solid vitamins in, so I stopped here, not really sure what to expect. I was super impressed with the diverse menu. Smoothies, waffles, flatbread, quesadillas. I had the aforementioned two smoothies; that is totally recommended. I also got the kids quesadilla. Because, calories and girl-ish figure. It was good! It tasted like several cheeses, it was hot and toasty and crunchy. On my visit in the store, the staff was super nice with me at the counter. But the impressive part; was how super sweet they were with the inquisitive kids that were also inside. They were helpful and spoke to the kids in a way that they would understand. That impressed me. This location has really turned my love for this establishment inside out. I have been visiting Dothan for business (and usually eat at my home location in Jacksonville, FL 2-3 times a week) and this location is so inconsistent with food quality. I I never get the same result. I've had a perfect smoothie and dilla combo but only once. Every other time I have been let down with burnt dillas, half stuffed, over iced smoothies and the final straw a water smoothie. like literally. I hate to complain but a quality check should be top priority before sending food out!! I hope management takes heed! read more

We went to Tropical Smoothie Cafe after church today. When we arrived, there were about 3-5 cars in the drive thru but no one in line inside and only one man seated in the restaurant. After waiting at the register for about a minute, a young man said "I can't take your order for 20 minutes" and then just walked off. It was the worst customer service I've ever received. Management and owners. Not sanitary to do this. All the employees need training. Witnessed non washed hands dealing with fruit, money, and no gloves several times. Love this place but education and training is in need. Window wait was over 10 minutes. Meaning window was open this entire time. The worst part about it it their is chicken left out right behind this tub, when I asked the worker she admitted it's out and about Went back today almost 6 months later and someone's glasses are on the food table. Good smoothies take time. Expect around a 10 minute wait even during low volume hours. That said the smoothies are delicious. My favorites include the Kiwi Quencher and the Muscle Blaster. The sunrise sunset was a little disappointing. Check the nutrition facts before you order. They load these smoothies with turbinado and thus calories. Consider swapping out for Splenda or even No Sugar! Remember these are smoothies made with FRUIT (real sugar). If you work at SAMC, flash your badge for a 10% discount. I ordered a Baja Bowl and a strawberry banana smoothie with peanut butter added in (smallest size.) the food and drink were both average, the smoothie was VERY sweet, must have a lot of added sugar. Not bad, if that's your thing, but be aware. They packed my food in a plastic bag though even though I was dining here, and I took it off and was about to tell them to use it for someone else, when employee Hannah very rudely grabbed it and said "you don't want the bag?" To which I responded "no, so don't use plastic bags" and she very dramatically threw it in the garbage then proceeded to text on her phone until new customers came up. Very unprofessional and rude. I finally got my (HUGE) smoothie, (seriously, I got the smallest size and it must be 24 ounces, WAY too much) and made my way outside. As soon as I set my smoothie on the table, it was so rickety that the weight of my smoothie made the table tip and spilled my smoothie. No trash cans located outside either. Music was distractingly loud, probably to drown out the noise of the highway that is 10 meters away. The highway is not a problem though, today's Pop hits blaring into my pilot ears as I eat my salad is. Also, all smoothies come in a styrofoam cup, which is not something I can get behind. I wouldn't say my experience was horrible, but for $13, I would certainly spend my money elsewhere. Update: finally got around to drinking my smoothie and it is pretty flavorless. Sweet,but lacking flavor. I like Ohana smoothies in Enterprise, Smoothies N Things cafe on Fort Rucker, and will be searching for a better smoothie place for my trips to Dothan. read more

When there's no Jamba Juice, grab a Tropical Smoothie. I've been in Alabama for almost a week and was gorging myself on fried, fatty foods until I spotted this haven on an early morning run. They have an entire selection of low fat smoothies with yummy combos. I highly recommend the kiwi strawberry with non fat yogurt. Refreshing and light. Great drink when it's 95 degrees outside. They also have quite a few protein shakes. Now I love to eat healthy however even I can't eat "meatless chicken". But for you vegetarians out there, this is your spot! They have wraps and flatbreads. The pics of the salads look delicious. And the staff is extremely friendly. They offer punch cards which is always a plus if you're a frequent visitor. All this and every smoothie is 24 ounces!! Love this place! Quick service, even at lunchtime! We are on a specific diet where many of the "healthy" foods don't work for us. At Tropical Smoothie we could select a smoothie that suited our style of eating, AND we could add power nutrients like spinach, kale, and macha powder! We selected the Avocolatta and it was delicious! We were not aware before we ordered that they use raw sugar unless you request they do not. After a quick internet search of "torbinado" we discovered that it was ok for us to have this because of all of the nutrients it contains. When we visit Dothan again, this will be a regular stop for us every day! read more

This is one of the few places in South Alabama you can get vegan food options. With their "beyond meat" substitution option you can have many of their wraps made vegan. Just remember about the cheese and check the sauces. Of course the smoothies are always phenomenal. Love the Island Green and Pomegranate Plunge! What happened? This place has gone downhill fast. The other day I tried to call and no one would answer so I just went there. As I was waiting for my order the phone rang and rang as it was ignored. Even if you're the only person in the store (and this has happened to me before), you are still going to wait at least 10 minutes. The smoothies are good. The drive through must be fixed. I was literally pinned in because the person in the car in front of me had not received their order but I had. The person behind me was waiting to order but could not move up! Awful situation. I waited for 10 minutes for the person to get their order before I could move. This also happened to my daughter. I went there tonight 3/25/16 at 9:35 after I called in my order and got a mango magic smoothie like I always do and tried the Thai chicken wrap. I was disappointed in the service, not only that the two people in there told me the wrap was not hot and it was spicy and I couldn't even eat it. Also I got charged for a side and it was never given to me bc their friends were in there and they were all laughing around. I was drinking my smoothie and it was really kinda soupy not at all like the numerous times I got it before. The guy rushed to make it so it was crappy and bland.
