Unfortunately, our most recent visit left us disappointed. We noticed that the portion sizes, particularly the salads, seem noticeably smaller than they used to be. In addition, some of the ingredients that made certain menu items special appear to have been removed. For example, the Mediterranean Chicken Salad used to include hummus, tahini, and pickled onions, which added great flavor and texture. During our recent visit, those ingredients were missing, making the salad feel less complete and less satisfying. We've also noticed that prices have continued to increase over the years. We understand that costs have gone up everywhere, but when lunch for two approaches $50, customers expect portions and ingredients that reflect that price point. Seeing smaller salads and fewer ingredients while paying more makes it feel like the value has declined. The food was still good, and we'll always appreciate the many positive experiences we've had at Panera. However, between the higher prices, smaller portions, and simplified ingredients, it feels like the overall experience isn't what it once was. We hope Panera listens to longtime customers and restores some of the quality, value, and attention to detail that made us regulars for so many years. The staff and service are always great. I honestly would have rather gone to Wendy's for fast food available in Keene. I think the foods probably as good if not better and costs less. So they give you this beeper and then you have to go pick up your food in a window. The food I ordered the broccoli cheddar soup and Asian chicken salad combo. On the website it looks like it's fresh grilled chicken. The chicken that was on the salad was colorless and I'm not sure how long it has been sitting. The lettuce didn't look super fresh either and the amount of dressing in the plastic tubs was very light. I'm not a big fan of dressing but that seemed odd. I ended up sending my mom home with the salad which she seemed excited about eating later. I ate the broccoli cheddar soup the broccoli was extremely overcooked and very sparse. The cheese base was pretty much Velveeta and I don't understand how anyone would get excited about the food here. I also got a lot of heartburn. My mom's salad actually looks a lot better it had fresh strawberries and other fruit on it. I'd stick to baking items there if you are dubious about eating processed food.
