My husband and I stopped in here for lunch. We had driven by many times, but we had never had the time to stop. The first thing I noticed was that it needed a good cleaning. If I had been alone I probably would have turned around but my husband wanted to try it out. I have to say the food looked really good as it is sitting in heating trays. The man behind the counter which I am assuming is the manager / owner of the restaurant was very friendly as was the woman who worked in the back. He explained what each of the dishes were and also told us about the rice you could get as a side. My husband ended up ordering the lamb and I ended up ordering the chicken curry. We both decided on the side of rice. Naan comes free with the meal as does a small side salad. We sat down at one of the tables and waited. It did not take long as most of the food was already prepared. The food itself was very good. That's why the three stars. However, the prices are quite high for food served on.plastic plates. We probably won't go back for that reason. We have been to sit down full service Indian restaurants for less money. Our lunch was almost $50 for two people. We ordered two dinners and had two sodas which were bottled.

The food here is delicious. I ordered a Garlic Naan, Karahi Lamb and 2 Samosas. The woman gave me a regular naan, but that's okay. It was delicious anyways. The Karahi Lamb was flavorful and had a nice heat to it. I had to dip my naan in the juices. Oh! It was so good. She asked if I wanted rice. I forgot what it was called but my daughter ate most of it. I probably shouldn't have gotten the rice though cause we were so full. The Samosas was absolutely delicious. Everything was seasoned so perfectly. It's too bad I don't live here. I'd definitely be coming here every week. The business is family owned and the lady who was cooking was very nice.

I am on the fence about this review. I went in at 8 pm and the food was obviously from lunch hour. The owner was so excited to see a customer I couldn't walk out. There was not a soul in the whole food court. My mistake was to assume that the $7.99 meal was a reasonable price for what I got. I got cauliflower with chickpeas, spinach and chickpeas and lentils with chickpeas.... Maybe 12 oz each and were $7.99..... For veggies. He added a tiny tiny salad and a huge dinner plate garlic naan which was the best of the whole meal. It is made to order and you can have it made anyway you want. The food was so oily that it spilled out of the to go containers. The spinach was so over cooked it didn't taste like anything but oil. The lentils and chickpeas (very oily) were like paste and the cauliflower was a bit dry but tasty. I could only eat the cauliflower. The owner upsold me rice pudding which was $6. It's good but $6? The owner was so cordial and excited to have a customer and my fault for ordering the food that looked way way over cooked. Nonetheless he should have had dishes that are fresh. I think this time of the year there are not enough customers to keep the food fresh.

By far the best Indian food we have tried! Prices were reasonable and serving portions are a lot. Appreciate the owners hospitality as well. I would recommend their food. We will surely come back!

Ten out of Ten for this delicious honest-to-goodness Pakistan-Afghan down home style eatery where the food is great! Succulent expertly grilled chucks of chicken tikka on skewers is put in a rich Masala sauce for you, Beautifully scented Basmati rice melts on the tongue, fresh buttery garlic nan bread arrives all hot and crispy, and don't miss the chana masala (chick peas) in a rich hot delicious sauce. We loved the fresh chicken shish kebab, too, and the hot black tea with sugar. Proprietors Mohammed Waheed & Begum Saadia are engaging, well travelled, warm, welcoming, hospitable, and very charming. They're kind and laid back and on the night my husband and I visited to collect our food their phone didn't stop ringing with delivery orders. Meeting this beautiful couple and one of their 7 children - a tall beautiful girl who is a super student, and chatting in their relaxed restaurant with them was a treat on this wet snowy February evening. They made time to chat with us and we left feeling like family. We love this family oriented place, it offers great authentic food at good prices, the spices and cooking style is Afghan and Pakistan with a large selection of side dishes. The Basmati rice was delicately scented with cloves. The fresh green chopped coriander on the garlic nans made them look and taste beautiful. This place is no-frills with good honest cooking and great tasty food served for quickness on paper plates with plastic spoons - just as it is in Lahore, Kabul, and London where I'm from. Don't visit and expect this restaurant to have fancy china plates or plasticcy anonymous looking staff in uniforms, or a neat and tidy franchise feel or appearance. Expect instead plain looking tables and chairs for diners to eat at, a chilled drinks cabinet, a tv showing news stations from all around the world, a couple of pot plants, and nothing else but a window cut into the wall through which you can watch this couple cooking the best food! Sir Mohammed Waheed and Begum Saadia thank you for keeping it real, we thank you for your 1st class hospitality and kindness to us and will be honored to return to you soon.

The food is delicious and AFFORDABLE even at dinner. Generous helpings. I have leftovers and I already can't wait to come back. Hooray for culture in Keene.

As a complementary drink, we are having a "rose pine." That's what they call it. It's nice! I taste ginger! For my drink, I'm having a Cinnamon Maple Whiskey Sour made with whiskey, lemon, maple syrup and cinnamon. I like the traditional Indian glass. This tastes good! It does lack a garnish though. My only gripe here is that it took a while (20-25 minutes?) for the drinks came out considering the number of tables here (4-5). For my entree, I'm having chicken vindaloo made with peppercorn, vinaigrette and masala chili sauce. They have a 1-5 heat rating. 5 baby! It's tasty and pretty hot! Wow! What a great meal!

Like many places in Brattleboro, the service veries from imprecise to genuinely odd. The prices are rather high and the portions are on the smaller side. We attempted to order several different beers and were told they were out of a number of options. This is probably the only Indian restaurant I've been to that didn't have either Taj Mahal or Kingfisher beers as options. They brought out our samosas before our drinks. There were no chutneys to go with the samosas. After some additional wait time they brought the naan and then we waited a good 10 or 12 minutes until the entrees arrived. They twice mentioned that the rice was a "free side dish", which is a bit like a pizza place telling you that the crust is a free add-on. The food is reasonably good, but for the price ($33 for a chicken tikka masala) one expects it to be outstanding. The Chicken Chennai was the best flavored of the 4 we tried. They included a 20% gratuity in the check for a table of four. This doesn't give you any latitude to reward good service or note less than stellar service. It was a bit over $200 for four entrees and one appetizer along with 2 alcoholic drinks. While the food was pretty good, I am somewhat hesitant to heartily recommend this place. Given that it is Brattleboro, there's a decent chance it won't even exist in a year, so you might want to give it a shot while you have the opportunity.

The Best North Indian Restaurant I Have Found…read more For a long time, I had been searching for an authentic North Indian restaurant that truly delivers outstanding food. One day, while I was in Salem, New Hampshire, I discovered Kashmir Indian Cuisine, and it turned out to be one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. I visited the restaurant with a group of friends, and we thoroughly enjoyed the tandoori specialties. The Chicken Tikka, Chicken Seekh Kabab, Tandoori Chicken, Garlic Naan, and Tandoori Roti were all cooked to perfection. We also tried the Haddock Pakora as an appetizer, which was absolutely delicious. Other favorites included the Chicken Saag, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Aloo Gobi. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and prepared with authentic North Indian spices. What made the experience even more enjoyable was the warm hospitality. The owner and the entire staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared about making every guest feel welcome. I was so impressed that I later hired Kashmir Indian Cuisine to cater my daughter's engagement celebration. The food was exceptional, and every guest complimented the quality, taste, and beautiful presentation. Their catering helped make our special occasion even more memorable. If you truly enjoy authentic North Indian cuisine, I highly recommend giving Kashmir Indian Cuisine a try. Make the drive just once, and I'm confident you'll enjoy the experience as much as I did. I almost always sit at the bar and order the Mixed Tandoori Grill because it has consistently been generous, well-prepared, and worth the price. Unfortunately, my experience tonight was incredibly disappointing. The service at the bar was poor. Although there were other guests there--many of whom appeared to be regulars--the bartender spent most of his time chatting with them and largely ignored me. I had to ask three separate times before I finally received service. When my meal arrived, it was nowhere near the quality or portion I have come to expect. The Mixed Grill, which has always included generous portions of lamb, chicken, and shrimp, consisted almost entirely of chicken, with only about two small pieces of lamb and a single shrimp. It was a dramatic difference from what has been served for years. I politely mentioned this to the bartender, and his response was simply, "Tough times, less food." I found that response both dismissive and disappointing. If portions have been reduced, customers should not be paying the same premium prices without any acknowledgment. After years of consistently great meals, this was genuinely sad to experience. Spending nearly $75 on a meal that felt significantly diminished in both quality and value is hard to justify. Because of my long history with this restaurant, I may give it one more chance, but based on this visit, I cannot recommend it. It was a very disappointing experience from both a service and food standpoint.
