This was the fastest tropical smoothie order I've ever been and I was in a crunch to get to my brother's wedding cause I was the best man at his wedding and he needed his tropical smoothie fast. We stopped here to grab a quick and slightly healthier option. We also didn't feel like spending too much. The dining area was open this time and we went in to eat. The eating area was clean and comfortable for being a smaller area. The seat we chose was by the ordering area for the drive through, so we felt a bit like zoo animals at times when cars were coming through. The staff was friendly and the food came out pretty quick. We were pleased with the service. The folks were working the entire time we were there. It was a great sight to see. Nice job to them. The food was very tasty. The Caribbean jerk chicken wrap was very tasty and fresh. The mango in the wrap mixed very well with the slight heat the spices brought. The sides were the sweet potatoes and kale salad. The sweet potatoes were tasty and probably the least "freshest" thing we had. The chicken pesto flatbread was very cheesy and the pesto was a nice flavor. The portion was smaller than the wrap but so was the cost, so you get what you pay for. The smoothie was delicious. It was the sunrise sunset and the portion is definitely enough for two. I would recommend this place if want to grab a quick healthier option to the fast food places. read more

2 weeks ago I placed an order through door dash to tropical smoothie care on Kentwwod in Grand Rapids, MI. My order was delivered to someone else. Doordash said that I had to get my refund from Tropical Smoothie Cafe on Kenntwood. We'll I talked to the owner who guaranteed that I would be compensated. It has been 2 weeks and now they are ignoring my calls and hanging the phone up in my face. I will never recommend this spot to nobody ever and I don't think it's fair that they just kept my money. $21.78 is a lot of money to just give away. read more

So this morning as I was heading to the gym I wanted to start my day with a smoothie. I asked for a lean machine and was told they no longer have it so I told the man taking my order what goes in one and asked for a couple extra items to be added. This was after waiting 5 min at the speaker before he took my order, when i got to the window he took my payment and I waited another 7 min or so for my smoothie as he gave it to me I asked what it was he said a Bahama mama Wrong He asked what I ordered again and made a new one(2) still wrong none of my items were in the smoothie he says oh yeah so lets try again (3) ATTEMPT 3 he gave me it I started to leave and got a little bit down the road and a large piece of the fat burner went into my mouth So now I am really upset I went back went in and he admitted that he just added the stuff to get me on the road. Horrible. Both times I have gone here it has been horrible. First time all I ordered was a smoothie online and although they close at 9 I was there at 8:40 and the door was locked so I proceeded to go to the drive thru and waited 20 minutes for my unblended smoothie. It literally was pure ice. I gave it a second chance a few weeks ago and ordered my chicken pesto flatbread which was completely cold and the chicken was frozen cold. I drove 20 minutes just for them to say sorry we didnt see you after i was standing in line for 5 minutes. The manager, Nik, is not only rude to employees but he is also extremely rude to customers when concerns are brought to his attention. When I contacted him I was unable to get in 5 words before Nik began his tirade not allowing me to respond. When he finally took a breath I stated that I sympathized with his position but would like an opportunity to voice my conerns to which he said that he did not want to hear and promptly hung up on me. I was able to acquire the telephone number of the owner and left a voicemail regarding the manor in which Nik behaved and asked to have a call back to voice my concerns. It has been a week since that voicemail was left and I have yet to hear from the owner. read more

They asked me to make a donation three times and each time I said no until I eventually gave up because I wanted my food. Whenever I pay for extra add-ons I rarely ever get them and I have to go through the drive-through again to ask for them. In addition if you ask for some thing like a cheese quesadilla, I have never gone there and have them actually make it without chicken so I have to go through and ask for a different one. I love their food but for the cost and the amount of effort it takes for me to actually get what I ordered, I will not be going back to this store. read more

Sometimes you want to come to Yelp to only put bad reviews on places... but I can't. This tropical smoothie is amazing. There was a nice young woman who helped me named Haley. She told me she was having a bit of a rough day and to just bear with her. When she got stuck she called the general manager, Michael, over for help and he was more than willing to lend a hand. He even took time to apologize for the inconvenience... even though me waiting an extra 30 seconds was no problem for me. Once Haley was done making my smoothie she apologized for the mix up and the wait. I tipped pretty well once I left. I can't tell you how fast this tropical smoothie turned my day around. I was just having one of those days and came in wanting something to lift my spirits. I believe the person I spoke with was Michael. He greeted me the second I walked in and didn't walk away until I left. His smile, I think, is what started this amazing visit. I had no idea what I wanted, but Michael recommended the mocha madness (add white chocolate and peanut butter) as that drink is his favorite. When I tell you it was the best smoothie I think I've had in so long. There were also two other emoloyees there I think Rachel and Haley who also made this visit the best visit I've ever had. Not because they helped me but because of the way that I heard them speaking to the other customers. I don't think I've been to a business that has payed this much attention to their customers needs/wants with a smile on their face. I will definitely be returning for all of my tropical smoothie needs. I will also be recommending this location to all of my friends and coworkers and where ever I can get the name out.
