Ordered for delivery. It was marked as complete. After 10 min I called the restaurant twice before I got someone to pick up. I asked where the driver was since it was marked complete on the app. The lady who picked up kept telling me there were no orders for delivery and she didn't know what I was talking about. Asked me if this was a delivery for tomorrow. Then she hung up on me. I tried calling again 3 times and didn't get an answer. Update: Business manager commented and told me to file a complaint through the website. However the website only lets you get to a certain point before it does nothing. Has a next button that doesn't do anything. I tried on several devices and networks. Nothing let me get past this point.

TSC is a one size only smoothie place. Tropicolada (pina colada) and Jetty Punch (strawberry banana) - so good
I C.

TSC smoothies have been my go-to over the years - a flavor treat. The Reston location serves up smoothies (note: TSC serves up one size only for smoothies) in the same consistent TSC style and taste as their other chain locations I've been to. I'm pressed to think of another place in Reston that serves up smoothies (not frappes like Sbux but true smoothies) for the same price, size, taste and value as TSC. Plus: since covid, they have put in precautions like requiring masks, offering hand sani, they have installed plexiglass screens at the counter and have limited the front customer area (no inside seating). Our MO has been to call in an order for pick up (they also do curbside delivery orders) right before we jump in the car to head over and our smoothies are always ready when we get there. We always order the same thing: the Jetty Punch (basically a strawberry banana smoothie) and the Tropicolada (basically a pina colada smoothie which curiously is not listed on their menu but all of the TSCs know how to make it so I just keep ordering it lol). Order mid-afternoon during their Happy Hour and get a discount on your smoothie/s (be sure to ask!). Every penny saved helps! They have some other food-smoothie combo specials posted at the ordering counter as well. Worth checking out or calling to ask. Love their Thai Chicken Wrap (prefer it not heated/warmed) - try it, so good! Since covid, the place has never been crowded, the wait in line has been minimal if any and the service is fast and efficient by friendly staff. I believe they weathered the restaurant shutdown storm so the worst seems to be over for them (fingers crossed). Bottom line: tasty smoothies, not overly priced, quick efficient service (call to order in advance!) and taking covid precautions. Checks all the boxes for me.

9/25/19 Returned back to Tropical Cafe Smoothie to find it pretty quiet. Saw a new face and said hello. The lady looked nervous, but it was because her English language is very limited. This is not a problem because she will master the English language and become bilingual. This will put her ahead of the game. I don't know her name, but she took my order. I forgot the word for blueberries in Spanish, but now I have all the time in the world. Next time I order I will remember the word arándanos (blueberries). I will return Friday September 27th. As I left the store with a delicious Peches N Silk with blueberries instead of bananas, I noticed the ladies preparing a large order for lunch time. I might see the delivery person drop off the order at one of my pick up stops.

$10 lunch menu: Buffalo chicken wrap, Island Green Smoothie, and chips
Charlotte C.

Their $10 lunch menu is really a steal. And it's not available at every chain location. You basically get to choose any options from the sandwich/wrap menu, one smoothie, and any bag of chips. For smoothie I highly recommend the island green ginger detox smoothie. It's super refreshing and they sweeten it with the ginger instead of adding additional sugar. The wrap though was very loose and the wrap itself tasted quite hard. But for a quick deli this is more or less what I expected.

I returned to Va and had to try a smoothie because I was unsuccessful my last visit. Well, I have to say my smoothie is very good. This cominf from someone who is an avid smoothie, acai bowl enthusiast. Whike itmay seem like irs easy to make a good smoothie and acai bowl, its not. So kudos for fulfilling my expectations! Your food always top notch as well!

Sick employee
Mirian C.

I asked the lady nicely who toke my order if she could change her gloves (when taking my card), because she sounded sick (lost her voice). She then went to the food prep area and told her other coworker my request in Spanish. I speak Spanish and understand. I did tell them that my request was reasonable, because she sounded sick. Especially during this pandemic. I know I'm ordering out trying to support local businesses. No need for sassiness. If you sound or look sick as an employee please stay home.

Pesto chicken flatbread
Katie S.

I ordered online and was texted that my food was ready for pick-up about 5 minutes later. So you really can't beat the convenience of their system! I have to admit I was a little apprehensive when I pulled the salad out of the bag and saw this sad looking creation of mostly shredded lettuce, but the flavor was ok. I really liked the pesto chicken flatbread though. I think next time I'll skip the salad and get a sandwich with a light smoothie instead.

Typically Tropical Smoothie is really good, but this location is awful. My smoothie had chucks in it and this is how my flatbread was given to me and the taste was super off. What a joke, listen to the reviews.

Way too many cookies
Brittany P.

I was disappointed with this location. When I entered the location I was not greeted. I was one of two people in the establishment. I waited 4 minutes to order despite the two lady's standing there talking in Spanish. After receiving my smoothie I said thank you and was ignored. Awful customer service.

Summer vibes.

I've been to several Tropical Smoothie locations around Northern Virginia and I must say this one takes the cake. The staff is able to manage the constant rush while maintaining and producing great tasting Smoothies and food.

I put in a take out early, and by the time I got there, it was bagged and ready! It was a Sunday at 7:15 am, so it wasn't really too busy yet. There was also a running race going on and not much parking (pretty sure that's a one off though) so that could've contributed to the quiet morning as well. The bagels were delicious. I got a cinnamon raisin bagel with plain cream cheese. It was perfect. We also tried the mountain view (potato latke, egg, cheese, and avocado) sandwich and the bacon Sun city (bacon, egg, cheese, and hot honey) sandwich. Both were delicious. Bagel sandwiches are a little messy to eat and they don't skimp on any ingredients either the avocado was great. My husband really enjoyed his everything bagel with plain cream cheese. Honestly though, the stars are their Strawberry B&W Oreo cookie and chocolate babka muffin. I wanted to try the cinnamon raisin babka muffin but it wasn't avaliable at the time. The strawberry oreo cookie is the perfect amount of sweetness with the strawberry icing and then the darker chocolate side. Their strawberry icing is absolutely perfect. I don't think I've had a better strawberry glaze. It's sweet, good amount of strawberry flavor and the perfect balance of artificial strawberry flavor where you can't tell and it's just naturally strawberry enough. I wish they made a cookie where it's fully strawberry glazed. The chocolate babka muffin (I got warmed) is the perfect size. So much chocolate. And a dark chocolate so it's not in your face sweet. I loved them both so much, I made my husband get two of each the next weekend. Come for the bagels, but stay for the baked goods.

I don't know why but I just dislike toasted bagels with seeds on it. It tastes bitter and crunchy to me in ways I find it dwarfing all the other flavors of the sandwich. Would definitely order it again as it was airy and not too heavy. Lastly, the inside of the store is brightly decorated with ample seatings available. The service was prompt and parking easily found across the entrance.

Grant Street, it turns out, is disjointed. In other words, it's not like it's just a straight shot from one end to the other. We stopped in here on a Saturday around 4 p.m. The place closes at 6 p.m., and are closed on Sunday. At that time of day, they weren't at all busy. The young man at the counter took our orders, and someone working in the back made the sandwiches. We just ordered savory items, so we can't speak to how the sweet items are (although some of them sounded so good). I ordered the salmon sandwich, which consists of: "Choice of your chimney bread, spread with dill cream cheese, filled with smoked Atlantic salmon, spring mix, cucumber, and red onion." The bread choices are everything bagel, jalapeno, and cheesy. I chose the everything bagel and asked for no onion. I found this sandwich to be tasty, but I thought they could have gone lighter with the dill cream cheese. The bread had a nice crispness. My husband ordered the ham and Swiss sandwich, which consists of: "Choice of your chimney bread, spread with paprika mayo and filled with black forest ham, Swiss cheese, fresh romaine hearts, spring mix, sweet pepper, tomato, cucumber, and red onion". He wasn't happy with the paprika mayo, as he says mustard would have worked better. Nor did he care for the sweet peppers. Now he knows not to order the default setting for this sandwich but instead to customize the toppings. They work with DoorDash, which, when ordering online, gives the option to customize one's order. There are high tables, the type that are found in bars, for those who want to eat their sandwiches there. The place is kept very clean.

Drive around if you need to, and you'll eventually find the sign. Should you go through all that trouble to find the place? If you are out of ideas for lunch and nearby, consider trying the subs at this place. You won't regret it. The thick double plastic bags are overkill, though. I wish they would use paper wraps and paper bags instead. Something to improve upon.

We both ended up liking this sub so much that we've now had it two more times. This sub consists of: "capicola, mortadella, pepperoni, Genoa salami, lettuce, tomato and provolone cheese." We got them with oil and vinegar and a sprinkling of salt and pepper. The second time we ordered 2 subs using Doordash. These subs came with the default toppings which are mayonnaise, onions and hot peppers. We both agreed that we prefer them with just the oil and vinegar plus salt and pepper. These subs are the best we've had. The bread is soft and fresh plus the family who owns the place knows how to assemble a sub so that everything is packed in well, thus making it easier to eat. All the ingredients are fresh and flavorful. The family who runs it is very friendly. We were pleasantly surprised when we went there recently, since we were in the area, and decided to buy 2 subs to go, that the lady who waited on us when we first went there, remembered us! The one drawback---They are located in an office park. Thus their business hours correspond to regular work hours. On Thursday and Friday, they do stay open until 6 p.m. They are closed on the weekends. So...basically, it's a hidden gem. If you like subs, it's worth a visit or an order on Doordash. And, yes, we will be back!

And some pork chops to throw on the grill - they were nice thick cuts too! Their different beef cuts looked good and the one guy was talking about bringing in some A5 in the future (admittedly this was a conversation I was eaves dropping on so I don't have details -- but... something to look forward to???) They also have different prepared foods - apparently their shepherd pies were very popular this past week and sold out and they have shaved ribeye that we would have liked for cheesesteaks (alas! Bottom line: knowledgeable and helpful staff & good, quality selection - wish they were closer to us, but we will be back anyway!

I ordered an oat milk latte, and I loved that you can still taste the natural bitterness of the coffee instead of it being completely masked by the oat milk. Perfect companion for the butter croissant I ordered. It also came with a delicious waffle cookie on the side, which was a nice little treat with the coffee. The only thing I wish is that the coffee were served in a mug when dining in, but they mentioned that they plan to offer that eventually. Other than that the service is great! I didn't have to wait for a long time. I can't wait for the weather to warm up so I can come back and sit outside on their patio while sipping my coffee.
