It's good for food allergy sufferers if you do your own research before going. Check all allergen info and menus online and triple check in store. The associates don't know allergen info easily so I believe this to be an issue of poor training. That said, their açaí bowls are a blend of acaj and other fruits, so if you're allergic to specific fruits, be weary. This happened around a month ago but I was reminded about this once I drove by today. I had ordered an island green smoothie and a cheese and chicken quesadilla. INSTEAD, I got a sausage and egg breakfast quesadilla (which was nasty) and an ALIVE smoothie. I was noticing I was getting a stringy consistency in my smoothie but I get this all the time so I brushed it off. When I got home I decided to pull it out of my mouth to see what it was. The smoothies are always good but the wraps are horrible. There is always so little chicken in my wrap. This last time it didn't even cover both sides, one side was the veggies with the dressing and the other side was a few pieces of chicken (barely noticeable) some lettuce and no dressing. This happens every time I visit this location. I don't go to this location very often even though it's the closest to my house because there are always issues with the wraps and I love tropical smoothie wraps in general. I don't have this issue at any other location. I think maybe they need more training and better quality control. read more

Tropical Smoothie Cafe is the latest store that opened up in the first phase of The Pavilion at Durbin Creek in the Saint Johns area. The first phase will house a multi-tenant shopping area and once complete, will rival the local Jacksonville shopping areas like the Town Center. Being a new store, the store is nice and clean. Very attentive staff, so attentive that during the time I am placing my order, you have 2 other employees listening as well, so they can get a head start on what to make. Menu board is big and detailed (it even shows the calories). Nice modern decor inside. Inside seating about 40+, and outside there is enough seating for 16 people. Great location and place to meet up with friends and just chill outside (or inside). read more

So freakin delighted to have this gem around. It's the perfect "post run- ‍, I need my protein to be delicious, but I'm lazy" spot! It could also be a quick smoothie spot for an indulge day, without going too crazy on your calorie intake. Along with the delicious combinations of smoothies that they have, they also serve delicious sandwiches, enchiladas, wraps and salad bowls. My significant other, loves his tropical flavored chicken enchilada with his banana-chia-boost smoothie. Having this place in the upcoming Durbin neighborhood, has been very convenient and fun! A tropical smoothie fan- but I'm just not a fan of this location and it's management. When I arrived- no one was inside. Therefore- I had to scream over and over again for close to a minute and change to see if anyone was there to tend to me. The gentlemen that was working, which appeared to be the only one working came out (apparently getting dressed) but he certainly came out with an attitude as if I was disturbing him. He didn't apologize, or excuse himself but just took my order which he didn't do correctly and went on with his business. This was at 9am! Went to the drive through and was welcomed with rude service. Got to the window and received the same thing even after being as pleasant and thankful as possible. I ordered two Island Greens and a caprese chicken sandwich. The sandwich was good but the smoothies were awful! Each sip tasted like cold hobby water with chunks of fruit, spinach, and ice. Nothing smooth about it. We couldn't finish it. It's a shame when you spend $6-7 on a smoothie to get rubbish service and amateur drinks in return. Two stars because of the sandwich. Worst location I've been to drive thru took 60 min and then when we got to the window took another 20 min to get our smoothies. Didn't even get an apology or thank you for your patience. Looks like on the previous reviews they've always had issues with customer service and drive thru being slow for a while now but where is the resolution with management to fix this issue so it doesn't happen anymore? They also looked like they had plenty of staff to help out so I don't think understaffing was an issue. read more

Review is strictly for the drive thru. It's the slowest drive thru in Jacksonville hands down. Around lunch time this is a 15-25 banger wait for a smoothie. A SMOOTHIE. Whoever owns this location must be super cheap and doesn't want to hire the additional employees this location desperately needs. That's cool though you'll be closed by next summer if it keeps up.
