I have never been to this location and was pleasantly surprised. I went on for lunch with a coworker, it was pretty busy but food came out fast and hot. I ordered the bomber which is grilled chicken with sautéed mushrooms and onions and it was delicious. Bread was soft and veggies were fresh. The cashier was friendly. I have become a Larry's Sub fan! So I decided to get a sub platter for Mother's Day get together at our neighborhood pool. The subs were a hugh success! We chose two styles, Italian Big One and Turkey. We could have included other sandwiches. That is the nice thing they make the platter based on what you want. They also included Italian dressing and bottle of mayo on the side so the subs won't get soggy. Ordering was simple and when I arrived to pick up the subs the platter was ready to go! For my Mother's Day/Birthday party, we had Larry's on Old St. Augustine Road cater our lunch. We got the party platter that served 10-15 people and it was perfect for our pool party! I asked for a mix of different types of subs and everyone loved them! We asked for pick up at 11:00am (when they open) and everything was fresh and delicious! They gave us individual containers of Italian dressing and mayonnaise so the sandwiches wouldn't be soggy and everyone could put on how much or how little they wanted. Just moved to Jacksonville and wanted to try this place out since it's close by. The pictures on the website looked good and the reviews were decent. The hours on Google didn't match Yelp so I attempted to call but was immediately put on hold. No big deal - if someone was there to answer then phone then my question was pretty much answered about them being open today. I placed a pick up order through the app which was easy and opted to add a medium drink and banana peppers to our order. Upon pick up, no one acknowledged us when we came in. Our order was up by the front in the pick up area but when we tried to confirm it was okay to just take it and to get our drink, we couldn't get anyone's attention. We ended up leaving since we had a limited amount of time and somewhere to be. On the bright side, the food was really good and seemed fresh. Unfortunately, the banana peppers I paid extra for were no where to be found either. So aside from the service, the missing drink and banana peppers, I think we'll be giving them another chance in the hopes that today was just an off day for them. read more

Larry's was for sure my go to for subs back in college. The number of late nights going through the drive through at the Southside location I couldn't even count. It has now but probably 9 years since my last time. I will say Peruvian Sauce is still a good to there. I guess it's the sauce of Jacksonville I started of with my go to, the Original Philly Cheesesteak with White American and onions. I will say it wasn't as good as I remember it being in college. They use sirloin steak and not your typical ribeye so the meat was for sure more tough. Again wasn't terrible but for sure could have been better. I will say though that the onions on it were great. We also tried the Kong's Club cause some on who doesn't love a good club. I will say this one too was just OK. They lay the meat flat so it hangs over both sides of the sub. I guess they don't you the cold cut fold to lay down the meat. Again this sub wasn't bad just didn't wow me at all was just average. I will say they have so many options for subs and sandwiches I'm sure we will be back to try something new. read more

As a Larry's goes this place is off the mark. We eat at Larry's on Southside often. For decades. This location is nice and clean. Great locale. Plenty of parking. Nice staff and owners (my Wife knows them from Regions Bank). But they do NOT have Boar's Head meats. This is not a Larry's we will ever visit again. (We actually left and ate at Relish Burgers next door). Which is a shame as this one is the closest to our home. Sad. :( read more

I love Larry's. It reminds me of my college days when there was a Larry's in downtown Milledgeville that I could walk to as I was on my way to and from class. My favorite sub is the Italian sub; each time I have one it reminds me of simpler days when I didn't have a care in the world. But this Larry's location is nice and a lot cleaner than the one I use to frequent in college; also the menu has grown a lot larger. But the meats are still freshly cut on top of fresh bread. Service at this location is nice. They are friendly and fast at getting your food to your table. Looking forward to more visits in the future. read more

Yay it's finally open by the Planet Fitness on Old St Augustine Road. Nice to have around the corner. (I used to send my husband to drive over to Deerwood location Southside). They just opened and decided to give them a try. It's one of those afternoons and you don't know what to get but you know you need to eat because it's almost 3:30. I kept it simple ordering the ham and cheese sub. Highly recommend. Fresh bread! Great ingredients! read more

Fast, friendly and delicious! I love having lunch at this Larry's Giant Subs. Everyone is super nice and the place is so clean. My medium Turkey Breast sub on wheat is always perfect. Let me start by saying I am OBSESSED with Larry's. I moved from Jax for a while and every time we came in town, we HAD to eat at Larry's. When we moved back to the area a few years ago, I was so disappointed to see the Mandarin location closed!! :( I was stoked to see the "Coming Soon" to this location. Today I went with my son around 11:45. When we first came in all of the tables were taken, but one cleared before we sat. The staff at the register was very friendly and informative, he even asked if I wanted a pickle (I always say yes to the pickle!). The sandwiches came out fast and they did not disappoint! Yum! I love Larry's here's the details: VERY clean - nice staff (and the owner/manager could be Ben Roethlisberger's Doppelgänger) great signage inside- but pass on the kiosk ordering - it was a little tough to do, and you can walk past the kiosk and order from a real person. So how was the food? EXCELLENT - Larry's might have the best Chicago style beef sandwich in JAX... (Better than Rosati's, different but slightly better than V's Pizza - the only one it would be in a photo finish with would be Musi's Madhouse food truck) The only reason this is not a 5 star review is the lack of hot dogs.....The website said they had real Vienna beef hot dogs.......and I was craving them all day knowing I was going to Larry's....Big Ben's double told me they don't at this location......bummer :( read more

Every bite tasted identical as all the ingredients were distributed evenly over this roll that has the perfect amount of delicate layers of flakiness air in every bite that has the perfect amount of crunch! The Gold Rush is delicious, that Peruvian sauce they use is so damn good I bought a bottle. Everyone at the shop has eaten here since they opened and we all love it. First time having Larys Giant Subs... Firehouse subs has been my favorite for 15y... Move over firehouse... Larys subs are sooo good. I wish they had a little bit more meat in them but the taste . The Peruvian sauce also makes the sub so good. read more
