Was it race or something else. I ordered online to save time...yeah right. I stood at the "pick up online orders here" sign for about 10 minutes. There were two ladies already waiting for food in the same area and maybe 2 or 3 customers in the area to place an order. Two of the employees definitely saw me waiting. One made eye contact with me multiple times and continued making smoothies. Another customer came in and stood by the "pick up online orders here" sign for about 2 minutes. I brought my friend here and it was his first time trying tropical smoothie. I ordered the Avocalada and the Hawaiian flat bread. He ordered the same and loved it even though at first he was afraid to try a smoothie with avocados in it. It was so creamy. I loved it. The food is good when you can get it. They don't seem to understand the concept of a drive thru though. You have to order from the app before trying to pick your food up. This is not the problem, the problem is that no one acknowledges you sitting next to the window when you get there. When they do see you anywhere from 5-10 minutes later, they act confused as if no one has ever ordered from the app before. My order is almost always wrong or missing an item. I've tried going into the location and that doesn't seem to work either. The staff is always slow and seems to care less about the customer. Today I ordered a smoothie at 12:39pm and walked out at 1:00pm. During my stay a lady came in ranting about how she's been sitting at the drive thru window for several mins. She left mad too. I love this place. The food is great, the price is reasonable, and the people are great! I've come enough times that I know them on fist name basis. Debbie and Marisa are the best. They know my order and all I have to do is call them ask them for the usual and then pick up and pay. I downloaded the app and its Amazing. I got 5 dollars off just for downloading. I love the new interior designs of tropical smoothies that feel clean, light, and airy which is refreshing from the fast pokemon city life here in atlanta for a few minutes :P. Update: I was up in Suwanee yesterday and decided to give Tropical Smoothie another chance. This time the smoothie was great, just like the other locations, and the staff was very friendly. A huge improvement from my previous 2 visits. Added 1 star and will add more if they stay consistently improved. Not a fan of this location. I visit Tropical Smoothie wherever I go on a regular basis and this location is definitely NOT up to par. First visit was last week and the smoothie tasted horrible. I had to add chocolate to it at home just to save it. I thought I'd give them a second chance. On the second visit yesterday I watched them make it. The guy out in 3 slices of banana, powdered white chocolate, powdered peanut butter, 5 pumps of a clear liquid which I assume is water or possibly some sort of juice and ice. It was supposed to have yogurt also but didn't see him out it in. He may have but I didn't see it. Overall, the end result wasn't good. A below average smoothie with a below average taste. There has not been a time where I did not receive exemplary customer service from this location. The staff is amazing. They have been very accommodating, I am currently on crutches and have to use their drive thru daily. My smoothie is always ready and I am always greeted so pleasantly. Shout out to Gray/Grey (not sure of the spelling), she is super sweet and kind. I had a "Get well soon, from the TropTeam" message on my smoothie today, I almost cried. I've been trying to eat healthier and the one place I can go to that has smoothies and real food to eat that's reasonably priced is Tropical Smoothie Cafe. I say this to explain why I go so frequently because I want to give this place a chance, but we keep having the same issue over and over. Since the pandemic, I don't go inside anywhere anymore unless it's something mandatory like the doctor or something, so all I do is use curbside for this place. However, I've realized that between two locations, when I place the order, there's no notification to the people inside that you're there. I didn't know that until I got frustrated at the Lawrenceville-Suwanee location, the location I go to most often, and asked to speak with a manager. I was given the name of Zelia who is over that location and three others. I explained to her that I go there at least three times a month and every time I go and notify them I'm here and even park in the spaces right out front of the store, no one comes out, thus making my hot food cold and my cold food hot. They have a drive-thru window for pickup only, but nothing tells them you're there either. Either way, I'm honking and sometimes they come, sometimes they don't. She said back in the summer that the notifications weren't set up to tell them we were outside and that was at all locations. I didn't get that. She did tell me they were migrating to a new system and she would let me know once they reopened (closed due to Covid) and I could revisit to get my order redone and notify them I was here with no issues. Since then, I've been back maybe eight times, and seven out of eight times, I was outside waiting. When the person came to the window, they say the exact same thing, no matter who it is. "I didn't see you were here. Sorry." I told Zelia a couple of times this was still happening and while she tried to rectify it the first time, but the second time, I was ignored. When it happened again last week, even after going to the window honking and waiting, I walked inside and was livid and I called her right then. She told me she did all she could and so I could take my business elsewhere if I wasn't satisfied or just go inside to get it. Then, she told me that due to Covid, they are doing the best they can. I asked her what that meant. If you're short-staffed, don't have a window, a front door, and curbside. You can't manage it. She reiterated the same point and so I asked who she reported to. She told me she reports to the owner and she can't give me his email or phone number. I told her to have him call me and she said he would tell me the same thing. I hate that. Let them tell me and let me tell him first hand what's going on. I told her that I would complete a survey as she suggested, but will also be posting online about this customer service and her responses to me, including how she couldn't respond to my text from WEEKS ago because she has multiple locations she runs. She also told me, "If you want to waste your time submitting a review online, that's fine." I don't know when it became okay to talk to customers that way. What happened to customer service? Being attentive? Apologizing AND addressing the issue? Is the customer no longer right? I'm over it and now I have to find someplace else to go. read more

I am all for a business helping out high school or college students obtain a summer job but it is something to be said when the business is not taking into consideration who they are hiring. Here is how the story goes... On June 26 at roughly 4pm I stood in line and waited to be serviced. I then approached a young lady (Caucasian, who looked to be charge) at the counter. I promptly waited for about 5mins, 5mins turns into 10mins and 10mins turns into 15mins. Meanwhile the gentleman in front of me was waiting for his smoothie and after he is handed is smoothie by a young lady with a green cast on her right hand she then sees three. people come through the door, acknowledges them and then proceeds to grab her bag and go into the restroom. I am left there standing waiting on my order and no one acknowledges me. I looked around and had to finally say, "Hey, who is going to make my order?" Then the young lady (with glasses) says to me, "Oh I'm sorry what did you have?" I proceeded to show her my receipt and her response, " Oh Sunset Sunrise". As she is making my order the young lady (green cast) comes out the restroom and goes behind the counter and proceeds to make orders for the people in the waiting area that never went to place an order at the counter. Moral of the story is. What happened to customer service? At no point did anyone acknowledge that I was there waiting for my order. I had to ask for it. Sounds like a reassessment needs to be done, training or simply people need to take their jobs seriously and one of the questions you should ask a potential employee is, "How important is customer satisfaction?" This is a great quick service restaurant. They offer healthy food options that you can get in the form of a wrap, bowl, or sandwich. Most options are chicken or veggie selections but trust me they are good. They also offer shakes that are very very good and rather large. You can easily share a shake between two people. The food came with chips or a cookie and the Snickerdoodle cookie was delicious. Everything was very fresh and the restaurant was clean inside. Staff was friendly and service was quick.
