If I could give this store a 0 I absolutely would. Me and my kids went here to grab a quick bite after Busch Gardens. We got there around 9:45pm and our food came out roughly around 9:52pm. When it turned 10pm, one of the young workers said "hey guys, you need to leave we are closed". Never gave us a heads up or anything. Then literally went and turned the lights off on us. I don't understand why I keep coming here expecting a different result when it's the same poor effort given by this staff every time. This time I walked in and was first in line and it still took the staff around roughly 10 minutes to take my order. There was about 5 staff members "working" but it seems as if they care too much about gossiping and all working on one or two online orders rather than focusing on the customer in house which should be more of a priority. After placing my order waited and waited and waited and waited still waiting for the food and beverage. The line of people continues to grow and these two continue to work at the speed of a turtle. I'm not one to review (or even frequent chain restaurants) but this experience I had was so bad that I feel compel to share. You might think (like I did) that it's just down the street, so it is convenient for me, it can't be that bad but my experience proved that to be wrong. Upon entering the establishment there was no one in line but there were a ton of people waiting around the restaurant. I got in line and stood there for almost 5 minutes with no type of acknowledgement, they only acknowledged me when a girl came and stood behind me. The girl came up to take my order with no greeting. I was very specific with my order, it wasn't anything complicated I just switched out one ingredient in the smoothie that I always get, the Detox green. The main thing about the smoothie is that unlike the majority of the smoothies that they offer this one does not have any artificial sweetener (it states this on the actual menu) and that is the main reason I get it. I waited over 15 minutes to get my order and while I waited I watched, because of the service I had received so far I felt that my order would be made incorrectly. Not only did the employee not switch out the ingredient I removed from my order, he added sweetener to my smoothie. When I asked about it he could not even gave me a straight answer without asking the supervisor that was standing next to him. They told me that my order was made correctly when I watched him make it incorrectly. I didn't receive, an apology or thank you or have a nice day, nothing; just rudeness. I took the smoothie and left and I understand that was my choice, but it was not my choice to be in that restaurant for over 30 minutes and I did not have any more time to waste.I understand that they were busy at the time and the employee who made my smoothie might have been new, but that does not excuse the rudeness and the fact that he lied to me about making my smoothie correctly. The young lady checking out did not have her mask over her face and kept touching her face as she was dealing with customers. Let me preface this by saying I have prided myself on never using Yelp to write places bad reviews, only to praise great places with great service. But this experience was so maddening, I absolutely had to write about it. We are in the middle of a pandemic and I happen to be 8 months pregnant. After a stressful work Monday, I decided to treat myself and my husband who just had dental work done to some smoothies and a hummus bowl. Normally my husband does all the outside errands for us but when I saw that Tropical Smoothie Cafe was offering curbside, I offered to go. I placed my order online and received confirmation that it would be ready by 7:56. Since I would just be doing curbsde, I brought my pup along for the ride. I arrived to the Cafe at 8:00 and parked directly in front of their curbside sign outside the entrance door. The sign had a number on it, which I called, but no one answered. So I waited. A number of people were inside waiting in line. I figured they might be slammed so I waited. 8:15 rolls around and I try to give another call. Again, no one answers. At this point everyone who was in line waiting has received their orders and left and more people have arrived. At 8:15, I decide to pop inside just to make sure they had my order and I was ok to wait outside in the car with my dog. They told me yep, I was to just wait in my car. At 8:30, when the line had now cleared, I go back inside and stand in front of the register. NO ONE SPOKE TO ME FOR TEN MINUTES. I was not acknowledged at all. It was at this time I got to take note of the absolute soaking countertops that made me question whether I really wanted to have anything from here at all... When an employee finally approached me, the same one from earlier who told me to wait in my car, he confirmed I had a to go order... then I watched him PULL IT OUT FROM THEIR MINI FRIDGE. It was already made. How long was it in there?? Why had no one brought it out to me?? Why was I ignored for ten minutes while they prepared other people's orders?? To top it all off, I am 8 months pregnant in a pandemic trying to avoid all contact with people AND my dog was in the car!
