This smoothie was decent, not an overly strong flavor of avocado, felt pricey for an icy mild honeydew flavored drink. The boba was slightly sweet and warm, that added a nice contrast to slushy consistency of the drink. I would not order this again. It's just not special or flavorful enough to justify the cost. Saw the good reviews and was in the area so figured I'd try. Upon walking up to the door my first reaction was this place looks DIRTY. Windows had scum, film hand prints etc everywhere the initial mat upon entrance was disgusting and I look around and see it's a whole bunch of "junk" that looked like it was all picked off of the garbage and slammed together in this space. I wouldn't dare touch the couch in the middle of the floor. Service was slow and waited like 5-10 for someone to come up front from outside the back door. The atmosphere here is great to just relax or study and the boba & slushies are delicious. There are a few boba options around that are good and 1 in particular that used to be my go-to in the same area as Chewy Boba but boy that changed once I got this tea. This far exceeded my expectations and will definitely be back. Being on keto now, I have to make adjustments to my craving of boba tea and have to now get it without boba. I opted for the Sea Salt Green Tea with no boba and my daughter got the Vanilla Chai with honey boba. The boba was not tough to chew per my daughter and her tea was delicious. While most of the other drinks looked good. The Vietnamese Iced Coffee was definalty not made traditionally, which completely changed the taste and not in a good way. Not sure if the sweetened condensed milk will still used in the coffee, or sugar as it was mixed prior in the back. It looked like heavy cream or whole milk was additionaly put on top of the coffee base after it was mixed, which was odd. The drink was so sweet that I had to toss it after a quarter of the drink. Feels like it was tried to be in line with their milk teas rather then using the standard coffee, sweetened condensed milk, hot water, and ice. read more

Yay for honey boba! I have super high standards for boba and if you're going to call your boba chewy, it better be chewy! I've tried the Thai tea and the matcha milk tea and both are pretty good. I love this place. I have been here few times and I really enjoy it. I think it's somewhat close to a university so it's usually busy and they are always short staffed it seems like. When I got to chewy boba it appeared to be "the spot." All the tables were full and there was a line of 3/4 people there. The man who took the order was so helpful and kind and apologized for the long wait. (It was only about 8 minutes from time I walked in to time I walked out). I stopped by Chewy Boba for the first time after eating at 5 Guys. I've heard good things. It is right next to the Chipotle that's always busy on Fowler. When you go inside, you'll notice a more hip vibe with graffiti murals and coin op arcade machines like Marvel Vs Capcom 2 and Puzzle Fighter around the building. They have milk teas, slushies, and macarons. I ordered the espresso and nutella macarons .Each was $2.25. Other places were knd of bland, but these were soft and flavorful. Even though I'm a chocolate slut, the espresso was my preferred one 4/5 My Thai tea with boba was good. I noticed that the drink was 15% sweeter than ones at Kung Fu or Kaleisia. The boba were soft and chewy and had a nice honey flavor. I liked it better than Kaleisia's version. 4/5 Whereas Kung Fu and Kaleisia are going for a more low-key vibe, this place is trying for a hip/Jet Set Radio Future vibe which is smart in a college centric plaza. I also met yelper Lisa C. in line which was pretty cool. I was slightly shocked because outside of official Yelp events, I usually don't run into yelp folks "in the real world". Visited for the first time recently. Very good selection and variety. This spot has a gaming theme and some large tables to gather at which were well spaced out which was nice since we had a group of 4. I had a bit of a sweet tooth and opted for the mango lychee slush with boba and it was soo good! Definitely a great refresher on a hot and humid day. They do have a few arcade games but they were all off for covid precautions. Kids amd gamers will get a kick out of the decor. read more

The honey in the boba overpowered the avocado, so I barely got avocado flavor. I like the avocado smoothie with boba at Saigon Deli so much more (and it's about half the price!). This may be the first Chewy in Tampa. Although they did not carry special flavor like the Orlando Colonial chain, but they have some flavor I have no try before. The decorated the place like the stars war movies Chewbacca character because it close to its name. The place has some videos games, board game, card game and more. You pretty much can spend a night there to play and talks. I have been here twice. I got the winter Mellon boba tea and the Okinawa boba tea. Both of them is very good. I like the drink. They always add the boba to the bottoms or quarter level of the cup. There are plenty of boba to chew. I hope they keep this consistent. The tea is decent. read more

Happy to help put this cute Boba place on the map in Tampa! They have only been open for two weeks and are killing the game. The employees are friendly and willing to help explain and answer any questions you have about the menu. The employee let us have a free sample of the tea they have on tap, I tried the Thai tea and the Taro tea. I was pleasantly surprised with how delicious the Taro tasted for being a purple tea. I would not think to order a purple tea but I have definitely changed my mind it was delicious!! A great part about this place is that you can completely customize your order. I ordered Thai tea with milk and regular boba. My sister ordered blended taro tea with milk and regular boba (so it had the consistency of a Frappuccino). They also have a case of macaroons that are so fresh and worth every penny. Lots of flavors to choose from so why not try one!? Walking in you can see that the atmosphere is very modern, but hipster and has a great vibe to it. They have a couple of vintage game machines to play if you're looking for something to do while drinking your tea. It's not super loud but not super quiet and the music playing is the background just adds to the ambiance of this place. Cool place to hang out and grab some boba. With many boba places in the area you really need to make yourself stick out. Chewy Boba tried to do just that by offering retro arcade gaming. They have Marvel vs Capcom 2 and Street Fighter 2 which you pay for but they also have a Super Nintendo emulator station which is free to play and loaded with games from your past. The customer service is great. The guy taking orders was really nice and talked to me about the different variations he could make. I went with a mango, peach, and lychee smoothie made with yogart and it hit the spot. Very refreshing and was brought out to us while we were playing arcade games. The high ceilings, open set up, and the stone floor don't make for good acoustics as it gets really loud and sound travels everywhere. Probably not a good place to study as there are so many people that pass through but definitely a great place to grab a cool drink and hangout with some friends. One of the newest boba places in the area. It's definitely a cool place to hang out. There's a large variety of games to play with friends and plenty of tables and hang out spaces to do this. The dining space is large the amount of furniture in the place does not fill it so when you are just passing by, it looks nearly empty. The art on the walls is very unique and I though it was a very nice touch. Parking is always a pain in this complex. When I came, my boba was a bit hard for my taste. Their tea was nothing special. I would come back if it was convenient but there are other boba places in the area that I prefer over Chewy. read more
