You're telling me that I can get a Sno Ball, like I'm used to getting only in the South, at Lake Calhoun?! Remember on Saved By the Bell when Jessie took speed and was in an aerobic video and said manically over and over, "I'm so excited!" That was me minus the drugs and the spandex. Okay, giddiness aside if I must, here's what you need to know: *two sizes, served in take-out containers. Small (think a side of rice) - $3, large (think what your last order of Kung Pao chicken came in) - $5 *a TON of flavors including Georgia peach, wedding cake, tiger's blood (yes, you read that correctly), blue bubble gum, dreamsicle *additional flavors or sweet cream will run you an additional $.50 each *they have sugarfree options, which I forgot to explore since I was just too excited, a la Jessie Spano I ordered the small king cake as this is a New Orleans-style sno ball truck, after all. It was a perfect purple sno ball with unidentifiable sweetness. I don't know what king cake is supposed to taste like, but I do know that there wasn't a tiny baby in my sno ball like there are in traditional king cakes. That would have been super creepy. It's finally (maybe, hopefully, finger-crossed) summer in Minneapolis and this should be at the tip-top of everyone's bucket list for the foreseeable future.

We hired Kurb Side Ice for a small corporate event and don't have enough good things to say about…read morethem. They reached out to confirm the event multiple times, and were a giant hit with our guests. Their old-fashioned truck is adorable, and their sno balls quite literally had people coming back for more. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again for a future event!

To my dismay, they've expanded their brand and added Coco's Market right next door to the restaurant. AND IT'S SO FRICKEN COOL INSIDE!! You can find almost anything in there and it's a great place to get authentic Mexican souvenirs such as hats, keychains, belts, aprons, and so much more. Apart from that they also sell grocery items like avocados, limes, rice , canned items, rice, tomatoes etc... and get this, you can even send money to different countries!! The true definition of a one-stop-shop! TALK ABOUT DECOR!! This place will uplift your spirit from the moment you enter through the double doors. I love how much attention they put into making the space feel and look stunning. One a cold wintery day like today, the little things like this matter most. Seating area is nice and the noise level was adequate with a touch of Mexican cumbia music! I wasn't really in the mood for meat and I love that their expansive menu can accommodate my peculiar eating patterns lol. I started off with a HOT bowl of Mexican Menudo, then a plate of Mexican rice, beans and tortillas on the side with cheese inside.. Y-U-M-M-Y!!! This was followed by a platter of picadas (that I shared with my partner), a cup of Mexican prepared corn (esquite) and washed it all down with a glass of horchata! Overall it was to die for! I've spent a good chunk of time in Cuernavaca, Mexico and the food here reminds me so much of the food there. Coco's roots trace back to Maltrata, Vera Cruz in Mexico and I love how they've blessed the community here with a taste of home. It's located in the heart of Northfield on a strip that can be considered their downtown, so there's lots of petite mom and pop shops that you can browse. Decent amount of parking in the front area, otherwise you can also swing in the back of the building and find more parking. Going to Coco's is now a routine whenever I'm in Northfield and one that I can get used to :) Fast service + family-oriented + hot and freshly made food = Coco's Place. Once again, I left a happy camper ;)
