I picked up a coffee special request recently and while waiting at the opportunity to talk to two other customers. The service was not only courteous and friendly, but just exceptionally impressive. They perfectly processed my special request a chocolate coffee with a courtesy and friendliness and service that is out of this world. I witnessed the other two customers also getting their orders filled and they were also impressed and thankful for the impressive friendly service. The worker was friendly and really tried to get it right. One problem, Java Jungle doesn't open until nine, and when it opened, they were waiting an additional 15 minutes for the house coffee to brew. "it's very large drip machine " I asked for two 20 oz coffees, two add shots in each, because based on yesterday's experience, the Coffee is pretty weak. In this lovely little town, the coffee options are very limited. At one point explaining my request, I use the term "shot in the dark "in addition to two coffees each with two add shots. I ended up getting two very week, overly watery, 20 oz large Americanos (two shots, hot, steaming water, no coffee.) She mentioned that shot in the dark was terminology that they don't use.... Half hour later, I walked out of Java Jungle with subpar, weak coffee and an eight dollar charge. read more

I have been visiting John Day for weeks at a time for work. I get my morning latte here every day. The service is great, prices are very reasonable, and fantastic lattes! I have really enjoyed getting to know the baristas and browsing in their gift shop. I found this place and didn't need to keep looking. It is located right on the main road, and there is plenty of parking right in front of the business. Easy in and out! If you are looking for a consistently great cup of coffee in a great atmosphere, this is the place! Remember to ask for a punch card if you will be in the area for a while. :) read more

Dang good coffees, regular, blended, and other mixed coffees, sandwiches, cookies, etc.. They also have a card to buy 9 get the tenth free. Which is a great deal for getting more drops of coffee for your buck. Free WiFi and other products for purchase too! read more
