I called the store, selected option 5# and got routed to the store - or so I thought. The call abruptly ended. So I shouted out the door and asked if she could turn the machine on. She made no attempt to come down the hall to address my issue. She yelled at me so I yelled back. The machine finally turned on. I did my spray tan and on the way out let her know that the phone tree wasn't working and I apologized for yelling. I believe in treating service people with great kindness and respect. Desert Sun, given the state of the economy, your services are a luxury, not a necessity. Do better. I do want to give a special shout out though, to Domonique, who not only was about to close on a rainy, slow, Sunday night, but graciously let a frazzled, "fresh out of the shower," hoping to get the very last spray tan of the night lady, in without one single complaint or eye roll. Knowing what time it was and knowing that I had an amazing, (thank you TT for your deals!), spray tan coupon that expired tonight... she let me right in, even after already having taken apart and cleaning the machine for it's weekly maintenance. What a GREAT, FANTASTIC and INCREDIBLE employee you all have in Domonique! Little does she know that this little act of kindness and not making me feel like I was, "putting her out or adding stress to the end of her night," mean SO much to someone who has just been through some really hard and sad times. I reached out to the company to confirm if this was a rule or not and heard nothing in return. Very disappointed in my overall experience. Unlike many others I've been to which may or may not leave you feeling sticky... :P ;) Clean and a modern aesthetic. Very calm vibe... music is always great and on a rotation! Country, to Hawaiian reggae, to classic rock and everything in between. Now to the good stuff: The tanning beds are all luxury and KBL. Red light is incredible and definitely works. For reference - This is unlike many tanning salons, where the girls are usually distracted, seem bothered when you ask them questions about services, and are generally just kind of rude. NOT HERE! Actually warm and friendly women. Products: honestly... They stock some of the best items for Tanning/red light therapy in the industry and most are top sellers and are all backed up by science and research. Varying degrees of prices for products for everyone's budget. But sometimes... You get what you pay for! Then had to redress so she could ATTEMPT to fix the issue, there are signs on the doors that say "be mindful this door doesn't close properly and may open mid session". But my biggest complaint is the staff lacking knowledge. I tried to cancel my membership and she made it impossible. She claimed she didn't know how the process worked.

Although, nothing was wrong per se with the salon itself, I feel the pricing is completely off for the beds and service. Normally, at a tanning salon you're paying for the customer service involved. Not cleaning your own bed, being able to ask them to restart the beds if it auto turns on and you run out of time getting lotion on, no door access needed, or hassle calling someone who may not answer, and ID checks for minors. It also seems that setting up and getting started is a bit of an issue virtually. It took about an hour to an hour and a half to get started and when I came out to do my red light session, another couple was getting set up and I couldn't wait another hour. Also, you can't "cocktail" or do red light and tan and go from room to room, you need to stop and clean and then send the time in to the room at the front and get undressed again. I also don't feel very safe with the location of this area as the abandoned Häggen is a seedy area to be vulnerable and alone in. Anyone with money can get into this establishment, they do not check licenses or ID as nobody works in the store, that's a violation of RCW 18.370.020. The highest level beds are just decent, one has some bulbs out (that they're working on) and the other is out of order (also being worked on). They're also replacing the lower tiered beds with mini saunas with red light which is cool, but cuts down significantly on your tanning ability as you need to hop in different beds to get a great tan. Lotions are priced great, but not sure if they monitor their expiration dates (12 months) as Dylan told me over the phone that they're actually good for three years or as long as they "smell good". My husband reached out about a refund less than 24 hours after we had gone as I feel VERY unsafe and dissatisfied with my first experience and Dylan asked he call to discuss "options", but we don't even have an account created? Dylan never texted my husband back, I thought it was 24/7 service? This place feels unsafe and like an easy scam.
