I went for a wax on my face and a pedicure this afternoon. She was so quick and harsh with my waxing. I thought she was being timed. I looked in my mirror at and saw the blood on the side of my face. I just found a couple other bloody spots on my other side when I got home. She literally ripped the skin off and I've had to put oil on the spots because wax is mixed in it -too painful to take off. I yelled "ouch !" A few times while she was waxing, but did not anticipate she was ripping the skin off. She put (aloe?) on my waxed areas in seconds at the end, and I had to apply additional oil to my face at home. She obviously saw the blood after it bled in 4 places. She also walked right by me a few times when my feet were drying, and during my pedicure. If she had owned up to her harsh tears, and took care of my bloody spots, I may have thought a bit differently, but would still expect my $50 back. I went back here because the other woman was so good at waxing my face. I am livid and will demand at least a refund. I will post pictures. read more

I always ask for Vikki to do my pedicure. No one else. During COVID, they were not open before NH nail salons. I really needed a pedi and went to NH salon. Not the first time I have needed to go elsewhere because of travel/now COVID. NONE of the other salons I have been to has been as good as Tropical Nails and Vikki. She takes a lot of time for foot and leg massage and is really good at it. I never go elsewhere anymore if I am in the vicinity and not traveling. read more

I have always been so thrilled to have Sue, the owner of Tropical Nails do my mani/pedicures. She has always does such a beautiful job and I always get complimented! Today, she actually came to my home in Groton, in 10 degree weather because I am on Hospice and unable to leave the house now! She'll be coming back whenever I need/want her! So very kind of her to close her shop 15 minutes away and lug all her stuff to me. She's the best!! read more

I love tropical nails! They are COVID SAFE! They do an excellent job. They even go the extra mile to let you know if anything chips in a day or two to come back. I really enjoy my appointments. Also my gel manicure lasts longer then ever before. 5 stars. read more

Could not disagree more with the previous reviewer! I have been going here for manicures and, mainly, pedicures almost exclusively since it opened. I have never had a hard time with communication and my pedicure stays fresh for 6-8 weeks-- almost double the time that my (3 times the price) Elizabeth Grady pedicure lasted. Usually the movies aren't the best, but they have a huge magazine selection, accomodating and sweet nail techs and I've never felt like the location was anything less than sparkling clean (which is clearly my most important criterion). This is my favorite local nail place. I started going here when I moved to the area based on the last review. My nails always come out nice, they have a bunch of magazines, and usually there is a cheesy chick flick playing that I love! Susan is my favorite. The only thing that stinks is they aren't open on Sundays. read more

Poor customer service and uncleanliness. I have been coming there for a few years but the place has gone down hill. First of, I had an appointment with my daughter at 4pm to get a mani-pedi done. We were sitting in our chairs getting our pedicure done for about 5 minutes. In comes another client and the owner stops and tells me she will finish me up later since this other person that walked in had an appointment. WTF? I had an appointment too and I was already here first! She said, soak your feet for 15 minutes while you wait. I think not! If the business cannot handle the customers they should simply NOT make the appointment and book for later. Another thing is their equipment is never cleaned in between the customers. Take a note where they put the nail clips and utensils. They never go into alcohol cleaning solution in between and this is unclean. I am taking my business elsewhere. The health department should really take a closer look. read more

just got my nails done here and had a horrible experience. the nail tech kept getting up to help other clients during my manicure. the sides of my nails & free edge aren't painted. cuticles are sloppy and ragged. I felt like I was rushed out. also paid $28 for just a gel mani.. usually I pay it's $20 for color and $2-$5 to remove gel at plenty of other salons.. I wanted to give this salon a chance. I came in with bare nails (so no gel to remove) and left with crooked and sloppily manicured + painted nails. still tipped her tho. read more

Looks like any other run of the mill nail salon, but what sets this place aside is the people's talent and dedication to detail. I've been here multiple times, always with a great experience. For prom, I went to another salon (in Acton) because my friends already made an apt. there. I meant to get a mani and pedi, but the person couldn't even do a proper French nail and didn't have the polish color (metallic gold) I wanted. So I cancelled the mani (had to pay for the pedi) and knew I had to come here. The man doing my nails did an AMAZING job. I gave several pictures on my phone as an example of what I wanted. He was so unbelievably precise and to get several different layers he ended up doing about 5 coats until it looked exactly the way I wanted. Of course I gave a generous tip and I've been meaning to leave a review so here it is! Highly recommend. read more

Communication is high up there on the list of priorities as far as my nails are concerned. this is the last place i would ever go again. I was out of town on a Saturday and it seemed to be a good idea to begin with. They had crappy magazines and crappy movies playing, but the lady cut my toenail down so much it hurt and didn't even apologize though she knew she had done it and looked directly at me after having done so. As I was getting my first manicure here I observed used instruments coming out of manicurists drawer rather than sterilized envelope. Aren't there laws about autoclaving or sterilizing tools? read more

I usually am pretty patient with people but the women that work here don't listen to what you want and do a bad job. I had gel polish on my nails and they went to go use the drill on my ails to remove it...I said stop and she argued with me about using it! Then I went in and asked for a polish change and they started to do a full manicure...I said no thank you just a polish change...the nail technician said "ok well I will just put lotion on after".. And then they charged me for a full manicure when I got to the counter to pay! I hate this place. read more

Awful. The salon itself looked dirty that's probably why no one was in there. The woman doing nails used the drill to get the gel polish off my nails instead of using polish remover. When painting she was getting gel color all over my cuticles. She started filing my nails after she had painted them too. Just awful. The finished result was very sloppy looking. I will not be going back. read more

I went in for a fix and they charged me $7 dollars when the sign said $3. Then today I went for a fill and she cut my nails after I told her not too! Wouldn't listen to a single thing I asked for. I ended up having to take the nail extension off my acrylic because when u told her no she continued. Will never go back horrible horrible place read more

I love it here. Susan does an amazing job with liquid gel manicure. You need to have a little over an hour if you're going to get gels or a basic mani/pedi. There is usually a movie playing and it's an excellent time to relax and get a little pampered. read more

I've gotten my manicure done at Tropical Tanning and Nails 3 times. I haven't been disapointed. They have availability to get a Saturday appointment and the gelish manicure is awesome and really lasts for 2 weeks. I'm a tough critic in finding a place to get my nails done and having tried many places in the area I'm glad to have finally found a place close to home! read more

I just walked out of Tropical Tanning and Nails in Westford, MA because the girl cut half my toe nail off. She said she was trying to make it even because one side of my toe nail had cracked and was really low. I said I'd rather have an uneven nail than be bleeding. The time before that she cut my fingers while doing a manicure multiple times. I will NEVER GO BACK THERE again. They are awful. read more
