It seems like there's plenty of nail techs available and they are all friendly, however they don't really attempt to make conversation unlike other places I've been to. Quick story short: I wanted a full set- first time i go in with an appointment and get sat down right away I have nail polish on my actual real nail and instead of removing it like a normal nail tech the lady starts drilling away at my nails and cuticles!!!!!!!!!!! This is my go to place to get my nails done! I live in Andover and I refuse to cheat on my nail lady. I always ask for Hanna! She is always efficient and very particular about how I feel once I leave the nail salon. My biggest pet peeve is having gel or dip on my fingers or not fully on my nail. I also have never liked dip before. Gel is my go too. But I felt that my nails just weren't growing no matter what I did and if they did grow and I picked up the gel one would break etc. Hanna asked me to try the dip to see how I'd like it and it's all that I do now. I have been going here for about two years now and honestly at one point it was my favorite place to go. Sol was always very sweet and attentive. The place was always immaculate and the girls and occasional boy were very friendly. Shoot it was the first nail salon that I knew to hand out little bottles of water which was a very sweet touch. But I do have to say the prices have gone up and the quality of service and kindness have gone down. Its more about the bottom dollar instead of giving clients what they ask for. Also the employee turn over rate is so high now there isn't an opportunity to find a favorite manicurist cuz poof in a few weeks you get told they are gone on vacation and somehow they never return. Just left as a first time customer - awesome service! From the moment I walked in I felt very welcomed & comfortable! He did an awesome job on my nails & I will definatley be back! I originally had a 4:30, but ran late at work so I called at 4:20 to let them know and see if I could come later, he with no problem at all said that is ok and took me right when I walked through the door at 5! I hate hate leaving 1 star complaining but save your money. I just moved to this area and thought I'll give it a try. I just wanted a pedicure and a full set. My pedicure was her cutting down my nails, scrub and nail polish. No filing my toes or cutting my cuticles.... She also realized that she didn't. But her look was more concern about customers she knew. It was rushed and my toes looked uneven and sad. My full set was ok and I kept looking at my feet. She charged me $85 for both...... I've never paid so much for a half a job done. Should I have complained and made a big stink maybe. But at that point I just wanted to get out she clearly wanted to do her friends nails that sat next to me the whole time. Save your money girls and spend that $85. read more

Love this place! I work in the area and have been to a couple of places in Billerica to get a gel manicure. The other places were okay, but, New World definitely takes the cake! They're sooooo clean! I'm a germ-a-phobe, so this is a perfect place for me. The people are extremely friendly and know what they're doing. The only complaint that I have is that one of my nails had chipped after only having them done for a week, BUT, I called them and they took me right in to fix it and didn't charge me. I had a walk in apt on a Friday afternoon around 230. They took me right away. I needed to get a full set but I also needed to be out of there in under an hour to make my next apt. I told the woman this and she said she would work quickly. At first I was sooo nervous that she would rush and not do a good job. I was pleasantly surprised, my nails came out fantastic. She did a great job. I love the way they look! Now I want to point out that every time I have ever gotten acrylic nails at least one would pop off before my next apt (2 weeks). Well today is officially two weeks and all of my nails are still on and look presentable. Which is alot to say especially since I was on vacation last week in the sand, sun and salt water. There's no point in calling in a for an appointment because they do not record it and you always are going to wait which is very frustrating as a customer. Just moved to the area. Went yesterday based on Yelp reviews. Mine is mixed. The owners were very nice and the place is spotless. One tech started my pedicure and then Jenny finished (I wanted some nail art) and then did my gel manicure. I am very happy with the manicure and my nail art. The reason I gave this a three was because the first tech tore the skin around one toe badly, causing it to bleed. I still have a dried blood pool the next day. I work in the area and for convenience, I figured that I would give "New World Nail & Spa" a shot and I was presently surprised. First impression, the salon is clean and well decorated. Not like others with cheesy 80's nails posters and Adam Sandler or Jennifer Aniston movies on replay. Everything is are very neat and the polishes are high quality and very organized. I was greeted by "Sunny" with a bottled water as I sat for me pedicure. Nice gesture and added bonus. The chairs are very comfortable! Sunny showed me the tools were coming directly out of packaging, clearly a sigh of relief. I reluctantly admit that I have had contemplated a tetanus shot or two after some salons. I had a basic manicure and pedicure and it was amazing, though I was convinced that I was going to get bopped with the spa pedicure fee when I checked out. It was that good. They take their time, but not where you feel held captive. Trust me, I have less patience than the last kid in line to take a whack at a piñata. I nicked my nail and chipped it on the way out and they fixed it immediately. They even offered to touch them up for free if it happens again. The prices are great. I was a walk-in and had to wait a little bit because all of the nail techs were busy. I didn't mind waiting because I hadn't made an appt and it's was a Sunday. I got a gel pedicure and manicure. One of the cleanest nail salons I have been too - which makes it a much nicer experience. My friend got married and we decided to have the bridal parties nails done at the salon - So went ABOVE AND BEYOND! He setup a table with fruit, water, snacks, and let us bring in champagne to celebrate! He shut down the salon for just us and went out of his way to make us feel special, and we sure did. I'm staying nearby for a few weeks and decided to get a mani pedi. I usually go somewhere in Somerville but thought I'd try out something new. I found this place on Yelp and the prices were reasonable at $25 for pedicure and $22 for shellac manicure (or other way around not sure). I called and made an appointment for 20 minutes later. Showed up and Jenny helped me. She did my pedicure and manicure. She did such an amazing job! I thought my go-to place was good but she is even better! At my go-to place the shellac has come out uneven before or the tips were thinner than the rest but Jenny did everything so evenly I am so impressed! I absolutely love how my nails came out. We arrived as a party of 8 (bridal party) for manicures and pedicures, were immediately tended to, and all received high quality services. I highly recommend the spa pedicure - it was totally worth the price upgrade. After a long week on my feet, the massage and exfoliating was just what I needed. I was also very happy with my manicure. 5 stars for the salon itself and some of the manicures I've gotten, 3 stars for some of the others. I've been here about 8-10 times and based on overall experience, I chose it over my regular local nail salon for a special occasion (brother's wedding this weekend). Unfortunately the mani I got today was one of the 3-star versions... nothing that would make me go back inside to get it fixed or take it off, but not what I was hoping for. I've had a mostly excellent, careful and perfect manicures here, which is what made me decide to trust them with my wedding manicure. I always get gel here and it's $22, which is a few dollars less than most places. They don't cut corners on their equipment or supplies. They only have OPI, China Glaze and Essie gel polishes. This is a good thing - I hate how some places try to trick you into getting a cheap gel brand that doesn't last long by having all their selections on those plastic tabs by number. They have those at New world, but they also have a wall you can look at to pick from the bottles, and the numbers on the plastic tabs match the numbers on the traditional polishes so you don't have to guess. They have a really extensive selection (200+ colors) of OPI gel. I never have to wait long when I walk in and everyone is very polite. That said, a few times I have made an appointment here (thinking that will get me a better technician or something) and been kind of disappointed. Once the nail tech was in such a rush to leave, she actually got out the door to her car before I did. Not a great mani that day. Today was kind of similar. I was in and out the door in less than 30 minutes. I'm sure some people appreciate that, but I felt the tech was rushing and the results are just not as perfect as I had hoped. My nails look fine, but she didn't cover the tips with polish and I suspect the mani will be destroyed within a few days. That said, I have had some epically time-consuming manicures elsewhere that have also turned out to be not that great, so I don't know if there's any correlation. Overall I would definitely recommend New World to anyone, and I will be back. I wish some of the technicians would slow down a bit, but most are very good. In the future I'll try to get the name of the great ones and stick with them. read more

I went in for a simple polish change. Worst polish job I've ever had. Not only was it to thick but you can actually see the different layers of polish on my finger nails. And I don't know if it was because it was end of day, but I was left under the dryer for 15 minutes before I got up myself and paid to leave (they were all to busy doing each others nails). I've been coming here for a few years now. My friend recommended this place to me and I haven't gone any where else since! I even got my mother to go here and she even said it's her favorite nail salon. I'm bothered by the bad reviews because I have never had a bad experience here! The nail techs are super nice and hold conversations (if wanted) pretty well! They don't all speak great English, but who cares - they are pleasant and nice - which is what matters. The girls (and one guy) who have done my nails are very particular and make sure that my nails look amazing. Once in a while I'll get a nail polish that starts to chip or peel before the 2 weeks is up (I always get gel), however, I think that it is the type of polish and not the techs fault. They are very clean and organized. Even if I don't call ahead they almost always can fit me in - sometimes I have to wait 10-15 minutes, but that is how the nail business is! I'd rather wait a bit then have them half ass another client just to get me in! I've also had pedicures there - and let me just tell you it is super relaxing! They have a few different options for pedicures but regardless of which you choose you will feel very pampered! I say go for yourself and have your own experience before you decide if it's worth it! OH and did I mention that if you use cash a certain amount of times they will give you 10% off your next appointment?
