I've been to many hotels under the Hilton umbrella and only the Tru brands have pool tables...and a little less than half have a swimming pool. Lastly, I was in the fitness room using the treadmill...another person came in to use the other and another couple of people came in to use the weights...the room felt full and there was no AC just a fan! This hotel is clean, modern, and comfortable. On top of that, the price point is extremely affordable, and includes free breakfast. Perfect for a road trip or adventure. The rooms were extremely clean and up to date. We were able to use the digital lock system on the Hilton app which was convenient. The showers were great with high pressure and various settings. We had adjoining rooms and requesting them was completely hassle-free. The common breakfast area was clean and minimalist, the food was basic, but good. They had a pool table downstairs and coffee available all the time. The swimming pool was indoors and was clean. The location is pretty convenient for the area including Timpanogos and other activities. Overall we had an excellent experience with this property and would stay here again. read more

Great place to stay. Hotel is neat and clean and the staff is outstanding. Comfortable beds and very nice rooms. A great value.

I grew up in the 70's and 80's and was raised by parents who were a lot older and grew up during the Great Depression. They were middle class but aggressively thrifty so I've stayed at a lot of one story, back up to the door motels with ancient, crusty shag carpet, mysterious sticky spots on the furniture, multiple cigarette burns on every surface in the bathroom and mattresses where you roll into the crater in the middle of the bed. The beds all had that coin slot promising a massage that would rattle your teeth. The smells were always horrifying and I can only imagine the hellscape nightmares I might have seen had I carried a black light with me back then. This place almost makes me miss those sleep dumpsters. We're long term Hilton Rewards members and we frequently stay at their properties. We'd never stayed at any of the Tru branded spots though. I'd seen the lobbies of a few and they do have kind of a cool rec-center/employee break room at a tech company vibe. Once you get to the rooms though, you realize that it's like a Mustang with a Yugo engine. On our honeymoon, we stayed in a hotel 2 blocks from Times Square in NY that had a similar vibe. The lobby was very elegant but the rooms were tiny and dingy. Tru's rooms aren't dingy but their rooms have all the charm and amenities of a dorm room at a lower-tier state college or European youth hostel, but smaller. There is not a drawer or closet to be seen so you have to live out of your bag and our stuff was laid out on every available surface so we didn't have to rummage through our bags to find stuff every time we needed something. The rooms were tiny and the bad had this crappy frame with hard, sharp edges protruding into the small walkways around it that I have banged my shins on repeatedly every time I walk around the bed. There's only one nightstand and a tiny round pedestal thing on the other side that's too small to even set the stuff you need to charge over night but still have within reach. The desk is so small you don't have room to use a portable second monitor with your laptop and you definitely don't have room to use a computer and a notepad simultaneously. There was something wrong with ours and it was unbalanced. If you leaned against it wrong, it would pitch forward, dumping your stuff on the floor. They did replace our desk but I have a massive pet peeve with hotels that have broken and damaged stuff that I have to waste my time dealing with or scheduling times for maintenance people to come in and deal with. We're way past the days of the $6 Motel 6 or the $8 Super 8. These places charge a lot per night and problems and issues should be rare. We're getting to the point where I have to deal with stuff at 9 out of 10 hotel stays, and as I stated, we mostly stay at Hiltons. The TVs are nice but a general annoyance I have with all hotels now is that we're way beyond the excitement of staying at one of the sleep dumpsters I spoke of above with a sign promising "Free HBO!". No one gives a crap about that anymore. We all have curated viewing habits and we want to either just cast to the TV from our mobile devices or plug a Streaming device into an HDMI port so we just have access to our own stuff. Is there seriously no one in the planning or strategy departments of major hotel chains that realizes this? Please make these options available. Your stupid WiFi login process makes using streaming devices either impossible or extremely difficult. Now we arrive at the main issue. If you have a sold out hotel on a long holiday weekend and the hot water heater breaks, don't just dismiss or shine on your guests when they come and complain about it. I'm not even willing to pay super low-end Hilton money to not have a hot shower for multiple days. The first person I told didn't take me seriously and said she was unaware of such a problem. This was in the afternoon of our second day there and after several cold showers. When I went to take a hot shower before bed at 1AM on day three and the water didn't heat up to any degree for over 30 minutes, I marched downstairs and read the poor guy who thinks he has it easy on the overnight shift the riot act. He admitted that by this point there had been quite a few complaints. They did have it fixed by the time I was ready for a mid-morning shower. I shower in the morning, before bed and any time I use the pool or hot tub. Speaking of those, they are amenities I pay for and expect to be able to use when I stay somewhere. If they aren't working, I expect a discount because they are part of my expectations for what I'm paying for. The hot tub had an out of order sign on it for the entire second day we stayed there. For the small stuff, the soap dispenser leaked all over my toiletry bag that I set on the sink. I set a paper cup under it and there was soon a puddle of soap in the bottom of it. I had a quick stay here while driving through Salt Lake (Lehi) recently. I only stayed one night, so I don't have too much to go off of, but my room was clean and comfortable, which is all I can really ask for! I arrived around 6PM, and left around 8AM, so very short. My room was on the 5th floor, and I was able to check in on the Hilton app ahead of time, so I didn't talk with the front desk at all, but they did greet me when I arrived. Location-wise, I love that this hotel is right off the freeway, but it's also kind of in the middle of nothing. I was hoping to find a quick restaurant walking distance away, but it's really just office buildings. I ended up having to drive a couple of blocks just to find any type of eateries. They are abundant near-ish, but not in the parking lot as I had hoped. Their continental breakfast is pretty standard, so I ended up just grabbing a bagel and a piece of fruit before hitting the road in the morning. Overall, my quick stay here was pleasant. My only complaint at all was that my room had some weird creaks that you wouldn't expect from a newer hotel like this one. Every few minutes, on no particular cadence, my shower would make a sound, almost like the floor was settling? I didn't find it to be worth moving rooms over on such a short stay, but it was a little disconcerting, especially in the middle of the night. This is a brightly colored, aesthetically pleasing minimalist hotel. Like many hotels, I think they put most of the effort into the lobby/shared space. There is fun artwork, interactive activities (pool table, board games, magazines) that invite you to come hang out with your friends. Once you get to your room, it's a different story. The decor is still attractive, but a little more understated. And when it comes to little touches to make your stay more comfortable, there are few. There is no closet, just a few hooks to hang an item or two. You also won't find a coffee maker-you're encouraged, instead, to go down to the lobby. The coffee downstairs wasn't very good though-it tasted burnt or over-brewed. The bathroom is also very minimal-the soap, shampoo and conditioner can be found in wall-mounted dispensers. I don't mind these usually; in fact, I appreciate the reduction in waste from the individual bottles. But the design of these dispensers was tricky. You squeeze the bottles as they are attached to the wall to dispense the liquid. It felt awkward and like I was going to break it. The beds are nice and comfortable, however be very careful getting in our out of them. The bedframe juts out-ready to attack unsuspecting knees or shins from the dark corners of the night. Overall, this is a decent place for young tourists who don't require much to be comfortable. A quick pass through town or a place to lay your head at night-it will do fine. read more

Really cute hotel. It almost has the college dorms type setting. There is a pool table in the lobby, and a event and places to go board by the elevator. The breakfast as decent, and had a good amount of choices. The rooms were small with a refrigerator. Good size for no more that two people but better if only one. You can tell the floors had not been swept nor mopped in awhile, or at least that day. I normally don't walk on any floor barefoot, but I got up in the middle of the night to use the restroom and couldn't find my slippers in the dark (big mistake)! The floor was sticky in some spots, and I can feel the crumbs, dirt, and other residue on the bottoms of my feet. Late night freak out to the full extent with a few choice words. Some eeww eww eewwwws, a heavy WTF, a well emphasized OMFG, and quite sure it was a OH HELLLLL NAH in there somewhere. Found my slippers, and rain straight to the shower. There was no way I was putting my tainted feet on the clean sheets. I felt so violated lol. Any hoo, great location for food and shopping. I would stay again. read more

This is a really nice hotel overall and I really wanted to love it, however, while the rooms and facilities are really nice, the customer service is horrible. First of all, free breakfast is promised as part of your stay here. I understand that during a pandemic, there's not going to be a wide selection of products since every hotel I've stayed at is doing grab and go breakfast. The problem here is that they run out of everything each morning and barely have anything available at the front desk despite telling you that breakfast is served from 6 am to 10 am daily. They know how many guests are staying here each night so there shouldn't be any issues with running out of items every single morning, hours before breakfast is supposed to end. Another issue we had is with the front desk staff. Although they are really nice and polite, they never seem to write down any of your requests so nothing gets done or communicated down the line. After our 2nd night we requested our room be serviced or at last new towels be replenished in our room and our old ones removed. The girl at the front desk told me no problem and repeated my room number to me to confirm. Well we left for the entire afternoon and when we returned guess what? Nothing was done and I had to go back to the front desk to request fresh towels. The guy at the desk reiterated that rooms are only serviced upon request due to the pandemic. Yes, I did request it but the girl at the desk in the morning didn't seem to make a note of it! On the morning of check out, I asked the girl at the front desk if we could get late check out since our flight didn't depart until late at night. She said the best she could offer was 2 pm. I said great because anything helps. I told her my room number and she turned to her computer and started clicking while at the same time confirming the room number. I thought she was putting in my request. However at around 12:45 pm we received a call on our room phone asking if we were planning on checking out today. Uhhhh yes, we had late check out approved this morning! The fact that a miscommunication happened 2 days in a row, goes to show how bad their service is and how the front desk staff never seems to take notes or write anything down, which causes issues down the line. Overall Tru by Hilton is a really nice hotel and concept. The beds and sheets are super comfy and the lobby is brightly decorated with lots of seating and hang out spots. Their fitness center is really nice as well. However, this particular location needs to train their staff better on communication and customer service. read more

Stayed here for 3 nights - 7/16-19/20. Room was comfortable but the service was bad. ROOM Absolutely hate the squeeze bottles for hand soap. It hurts my hands to squeeze hard enough for the soap to come out. I can't imagine if you had a disability how you'd use their soap / lotion / shower products. Sheets were extra comfortable. SERVICE After two nights we verbally requested at the front desk, for our room to be serviced or at least be given new towels. Lady asked for our room number and we left for the day. Came back, no new towels and room hadn't been refreshed. We requested late check out at the front desk. Again, gave lady our room number as she checked on her computer. Still got two knocks on our door and a phone call asking when we'd check out more than an hour before we were due to check out. Included breakfast offerings are limited despite advertising hot breakfast sandwiches on their paired back Covid menu, in addition to bagels, yogurt, doughnuts and fruit cups. Coming down for breakfast before 8 & 9 AM and they were already out of hot breakfast foods. When you show up at 7:30 for a breakfast that ends at 10 and they're already out, it seems like someone isn't purchasing accordingly. read more

This was my first time staying at a Tru. They decor was nice and the staff was courteous. Unfortunately I had someone next door that kept slamming the door all night and it seemed like the walls were paper thin. I could literally hear a some of the awkward conversations. I didn't hear a thing from the outside traffic just the neighbors.... Breakfast was very basic and left a lot to be desired. I have stayed at hundreds of other hotels and this one was on the lower side. Housekeeping did a great job and want to let the Mgr know they are doing a great job. Just suggest having more sound proofing in the room!!! I think I will stick to other Hilton products before trying this again. read more

Just ONE major FLAW: 1) an on-demand switch for the bathroom exhaust fan. I have both the automatic and traditional exhaust fan in my bathrooms at home. I couldn't find a switch for the one in the hotel room both inside and outside the bathroom which leads me to believe this one is an automatic. For a family of 3 or 4 taking turns in the morning getting ready for checkout, if the fan does not turn itself on when it senses a person or rise in humidity, it causes a scent problem for everyone in the room. Overall the bed is comfortable, the AC thermostat on the wall is very modern and easy to use. Also quieter than most hotels. The decor is very modern and tasteful. I don't mind the several coat hooks on the wall and bathroom BUT WHY DIDN'T YOU PUT A HOOK NEAR THE TOILET OR SHOWER DOOR? Have to walk across to the bathroom door. read more

I am totally disappointed with the lack of cleanliness with the soap dispensers. OMG they are a happy spot for Covid and other germ favorites. I can't believe what lengths the hotel has gone to save a dollar. These dispensers are refillable and have an open cap for anyone to put anything in them (Yikes). The pictures tell all. Very disappointed with Hilton for their lack of customer care with the little things. It gets better with the beds, the mattresses sit on a wooden box that hasn't ever been cleaned at any length. The amount of filth underneath the mattress is overwhelming on all levels. What is this world really coming to. This is not the first time Hilton has disappointed. Lesson learned. read more

We needed a quick one nighter for us and our parents. The location is convenient (right off the freeway). Clean! Both of our rooms were clean. Nice size this. Bed was great for us, staff was nice and there is the bonus of a snack shop right at front desk. The atmosphere is chill with comfortable places to relax in the lobby. We didn't have time to use the pool or fitness room. I appreciate the water fill stations for our bottles. Breakfast had a lot of variety and clean and fresh. A group of friends and I received outstanding service here! We were visiting a couple who were staying the night, and decided to hang out in the lobby. They have tons of games available for you to play and a lot of space to sit and visit! The worker at the front desk even offered us free drinks and helped us with anything else we needed. He was incredibly kind and accommodating and it made our experience so great! The hotel is also new, so everything is barely touched and in great shape. The common areas and room were fine - the walls so thin that I could hear the bodily functions of the guests in the next room. The biggest problem was the front desk/billing. I had prepaid/booked through Hilton.com and then was again charged after checkout. It has taken me over 5 times on the phone with Hilton Hhonors Gold customer service for Hilton to get this resolved, and it will take 30-60 business days for me to get the refund from Hilton Corporate as the hotel GM NEVER RESPONDED. Not recommend unless you are desperate. The rooms are very small. My wife and I and constantly bumping into each other as there is not even room to pass each other around the room. No extra space. No closet, very small desk, tiny fridge that is warm with no controls and the list goes on. They claim to have an amazing breakfast.... I've never been so disappointed in my life. With the options they do have, they can not use COVID as an excuse to have reduced options. With they have offered, there's no reason to have a full normal breakfast. Current options already go against most COVID restrictions in the states. They could have easily had more options with no increase in exposure or Covid constant issues. A great place to stay. Great value too. I booked a room at this hote on the Hilton Honors App. It was grandma's and my first stop before heading up to Montana for a family emergency. Arrived there pretty late but staff member was manning the drint desk and greated me. I handed my ID and CC and rushed to rhe restroom to releive myself. The restroom is nice and clean. And the soad dispensers makes you read it all. I wish i took a pic of it. It looked like a big yellow tube with lots of wording. But when you finish reading it, it tells you what it is and how to dispense soap. I went back to the front desk and was all set and was given my room key. It was room#420. I was rolling. Grandma and i went upnto our room and wow. The room sealed with tape and checked marked what was all cleaned inside. Felt like bteaking the seal to a CSI scene. But it was very very clean and modern. Huge walk in shower, lots of clean towels, a desk area, a long bech below the wall mounted big screen, lots of open storage areas, and since it was about 30° outside, nice and toasty with the heat on......... The next morning the hotel had breakfast for the guest. Mostly grab and go foods. While eating some hot oat meal. The sun began to rise over the snow cap mountains. Oh and also. The women that checked us in on 12/21 was a local gal from Hawaii. She knew.my grandma was from hawaii cause of her Foodland cooler bag she carried. 2 stars relative to it being a Hilton that normally charges around $100/nite (and certainly higher if something is going on). This was my first Tru, I knew it was Hilton's relative "low end budget" brand but I'd seen pics of other ones and they looked like nice enough midscale places with good-size rooms. Well ... not so much. Way more budget than it should be for the price. This brand looks like what Hilton does with "distressed" older properties with small rooms that it buys, tries to cover them up in some dormitory/hostel type "shabby chic" design (emphasis on "shabby") for the younger demo. Definitely not a serious place to put business people or whatever. Room issues: - Thin walls - Only a small mini-fridge, no coffee maker, no microwave (coffee in lobby all day, but no communal microwave) - Computer desk that was a little too small to be comfortable, and sat so the chair has to be RIGHT in front of the wall AC/heat unit. It's on wheels but there's really nowhere else in the tiny room to fit it. - No drawers, only shelving, and not really an adequate amount for clothes - No proper stand to open a suitcase on, you can kinda partially halfass it with the weird little bench right beneath the TV, it didn't fit my modest 24" suitcase right though - TV picture was washed out, and has that 90s-style digital channel preview scroll that doesn't match up with most of the actual channels - Bathroom ventilation poor, if something doesn't agree with you in there it's gonna be hanging around the room for a bit - Bed platform ideal height and placement for wanging you in the shins as you move around the small room if you aren't really careful. Location also not great, most of the other hotels back here are near Frontrunner & some restaurants, this one is in some odd isolated spot where it's a long walk to anything. It is right on the 850 bus line that goes from the Lehi station to Provo, but that's about it. If it were charging budget rates all this would be OK. At $100 and up a night it feels like a ripoff. No more Trus for me I think since this seems to be their standard room design. read more

So here's the deal. I didn't even stay the night here and had such a fabulous experience. We had some friends that were staying here and wanted to pop in to say hello and hang out for a few minutes before they flew out the next day. We ended up hanging out in the hotel lobby for a few hours and had a great time! They have fun games, cool couches, plenty of TVs, and a free coffee/hot chocolate area. The worker there was so kind and friendly and made sure we had a great experience. I know I haven't actually stayed here, but I had the kind of experience here that made me want to get on here and write a review anyways. So yeah, it was that good. Ummm everything was looking great until until I lifted up my bed sheet and saw hair and dirt underwear. The room was untouched, NASTY. On top of that we went to the front desk to ask for them to clean our room and all the employees "when home". They ended up just giving us new sheets and telling us to figure it outs. Blonde hair ball under the bed. No trash can liners, trash cans were filthy, no shampoo or body wash in the one bathroom. I really like Tru by Hilton hotels, very clean, love the laminate floors, layout and always seem to be in great locations for stunning views. This one is well run, friendly staff, and well prepared breakfast's and the coffee is always hot and ready. They only get four as the views are great the on ramp next to the hotel leaves you wishing you had ear plugs instead of hearing cars racing on to the I-15 all night. Still a great value for the money but you may want to turn on some white noise sounds at bedtime or bring ear plugs. read more

We booked a room with two beds 5 days in advance for only an overnight rest before or final destination. OH LORD! Once we got here we found out that they overbooked and gave our room away! Unbelievable!!! We ended in a room with one king bed, and no other accommodations!!! luckily we always carry cots just incase of emergencies! But never did I expect for Hilton to do this to families. This was our first time staying at a Tru hotel. We usually stay at the Hampton Inn. Tru seems like it is geared more for the 20-30 year old crowd. Everything seemed very basic. No microwave or coffee maker. No closet, there was a rod to hang clothes and a few pegs on the opposite wall. There were only 3 pillows on the king size bed. Air conditioning worked great! Lobby was clean. The staff was polite. Breakfast was included and it was ok. They weren't cleaning rooms during the stay, which I have found is the new normal because of COVID. read more

Probably one of the most comfortable beds I've slept on in a long time. This hotel is super new, clean, and trendy. It's also very affordable. They have a streamline minimalistic look for the decorations kind of a modernized look so it feels very new and fresh. The staff is friendly, there is a grab and go breakfast in the mornings, there's TV, free Wi-Fi, iron, blow dryer, a mini fridge. Also an indoor pool and hot tub, a gym, and a pool table in the lobby. They're only a couple things that I see that could use improvement the first is that the bedframe that the mattress is sitting on sticks out a bit from the mattress and so we kept bumping our knees on it especially in the dark. And with the streamline look there are no closets or dressers but there is hooks on the wall for your jackets and six hangers on a bar if you want to hang up some of your clothes and there's also storage under a bench and under the bed if you want to stick your suitcase under there. The whole staff was unprofessional. The room was not cleaned even though we asked to have room cleaned numerous times. Spoke to numerous staff members and nothing was ever done. Staff needs education and a lesson in professionalism. I've never even received a call or contact from anyone after making numerous complaints. They don't care about you. Just your money read more

This was probably my worst experience in a Hilton property ever. Walls are paper thin, the wind kept us awake all night. The smoke detector was blinking so bright it lit up the entire room, my kids and wife couldn't sleep. Just a terrible building and terrible property. read more
