The good: the hotel is clean and tidy. The bad: 1. The HVAC unit remains on all of the time. Even when you turn off the A/C or Heat, the fan, which is quite noisy, stays on. On a girls outing to see Fall Fest 2025 at their new amphitheater. The hotel was not bad and in the center of everything. What made our stay especially great was the breakfast hostess. Everyday she saw to our needs. For the life of me I can't think of her name but she was short with glasses and I'm pretty sure she is Hispanic because of her accent. If you're a college student used to a small dorm room - you may like this very small 'king sized' room. If you are an adult, you should go stay somewhere else, if you can. The staff were nice. But, I suspect very underpaid. There is a pool table in the lobby. Why? I can hear a baby crying down the hall. With the door open. And, with the a/c running. I guess the chain is concerned someone may take a miniature bar of soap. So, they replaced them with squeeze bottles glued to the wall. Hmmm. I'm not a fan of the decor, either. It reminds me of 'A Clockwork Orange'.. Sterile, sparse, and very unnatural. If you want coffee while you get ready in the morning - go downstairs to the lobby in your skivvies- there is no coffee maker or coffee pot in the room. No ice bucket, either. There is a dorm room fridge, tho. The pillows are horrid ! The sheets are not cotton or linen - they are the synthetic sateen - cheap uncomfortable garbage ! Brand new property, however severely understaffed. First, the website states that there are pet friendly rooms for an additional fee. We requested a pet free room when we booked. Upon arrival, the one clerk in the entire place informed me that there's no way to tell which rooms have pets, so he wasn't sure about ours. Second, the following morning, housekeeping woke us up at 9:30 to ask if we were checking out. Third, the breakfast was out of all options and only one person seemed to be "working." However, we didn't see him at all. Horrible experience. On a positive, the rooms were comfortable and clean for our quick, one night stay. Can't recommend and will not ever stay at a Tru again. read more

When our front tire had a catastrophic blowout just outside of Macon, we had to find a place to stay, so that we could replace the tire in the morning. As a Diamond member, I was glad there were several Hilton properties nearby. Not being familiar with the 'Tru' brand, I called ahead of time to find out more. Lady told me it's like a "Baby Hilton". As it turns out, more like a toddler learning to walk. I was pleased they had reserved parking for Diamond members. In terms of style, it's more like a Home 2 Suites mixed with a touch of Hampton Inn. As a brand new hotel (6 months?), there are lots to like in terms of 'freshness'. Style is definitely more casual - I mean, if you're staying more than a night, 'refreshing' your room requires a request, before 10 a.m., or else your room doesn't get serviced. The 'full breakfast' did comprise a couple of hot items, but otherwise, sort of 'industrial grade' amenities. Our King bed was comfortable, especially those big cushy pillows, but the bathroom layout is decidedly 'casual'. Those squeeze bottles are a little rude because they are harder to dispense (they're even in the public bathrooms - not well-advised in these Covid times) - says squeeze gently, but if you did, nothing comes out; and when you're a little less gentle, out gushes a big glob of stream-stifling phosphates. The pool table in the lobby is a nice diversion. The gym is standard, small-size edition, but there is a fountain with filtered water outside - you can buy a bottle if you didn't bring one yourself. Check-out time is standard 11, though, but you could ask for a later check-out, especially as an elite Honors member. read more

This was my first time staying at a Tru and I loved it! We stopped in on our way down to Florida. The hotel was clean and everyone was very friendly. The lobby had all sorts of activities for adults and kids. My sons loved the giant connect 4 board. They also had tons of board games you could borrow. The room was different than most hotel rooms I've stayed in before because there was no closet or dressers. I didn't mind at all because really that is all just wasted space. How often do you really unpack your suitcase and put everything into drawers or hang it up? The room did have a mini fridge and there was a microwave in the lobby if you needed it. The lobby also had 24 hour coffee and tea. Our stay included a free breakfast which consisted of eggs, sausage, pancakes, bagels, fruit and pastries. My older son loved the pancake machine. You could see as the pancake cooked and moved through the machine. My only thing on what they could improve were the eggs. They were very watery. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for any future stops in Macon, GA! read more

If you like the Aloft brand, you'll enjoy staying here. Very hip, modern & clean. Staff is super friendly & helpful (especially if you just happen to have picked mangoes off your tree & share). A great area at the back of the lobby w a pool table for the kids. Darn good breakfast (Chioban Greek yogurt?! Wow - yes) only weird thing is the soap, lotion, shampoo, body wash & conditioner dispensers have cutesie phrases on them the designer thought were cool. Determining which dispenser gives you what, makes you look closer (or you'll get body lotion instead of hand soap no biggie, great for producing less plastic trash in the world!) Can't Miss staying here! Have dinner at the Rookerie in Macon beforehand & it's a win win read more

Happy accident I ended up here, the first two hotels I tried were booked solid. Took a chance and was so glad I did. Easy to find, front desk polite and efficient. Room was spacious and had what I needed a place to sleep and a place to shower. Love the lemon soap. Already recommended this location to a friend that will be in the area next month. read more

Stayed at this Hotel this past week in My Hometown of Macon,Ga. The Hospitality was Excellent!!!!!!!. The whole staff From the time you walk in the door until till the time you walk out. LaQuita the front desk representative made sure mines and everyone was welcome. Assisted me and my family for anything that was needed. The Continental Breakfast every morning was outstanding. Would have liked those Georgia Grits everyday... tho. Lol ...This Hotel is very clean. Alot of things to do for adult and kids. Price is very reasonable. I Give this Hotel 8 stars!!! Booked a reservation 2 weeks prior to our stay with my family for spring break and at check in, I was notified by the attendant that Hilton cancelled my reservation since my 'credit card was declined'. She also said they had called me for several times so I decided to look at my call log and guess what... NO CALLS! NO EMAILS, NO TEXTS, NOTHING! Oh, and my credit card worked fine just before and after while booking another hotel! What a joke. If this is how Hilton treats their members, I'm going Marriott all the way. As Hilton Diamond Members, we expect a better response than we have received from Hilton. This review is for Hilton management not the facility. We stayed at True by Hilton at Macon North for a meeting my wife was attending in October. The facility was clean and well maintained and we enjoyed the stay. When we returned home, we discovered that we had left something behind. I contacted the hotel and they agreed to send it to us right away. I waited about a week and then contacted the hotel to tell them that we had not received it. The manager was very polite and said they would go down and check at the post office that day. I called the next day and was given a message by the front desk that the manager said the post office had said the package had been delivered. I asked to be transferred to the manager because we had not received the package. I got the manager's voicemail and left a message requesting that we be sent the tracking number. This started a long process of me leaving multiple voicemails and finally even sending emails to the manager and never receiving a response. Eventually I had to contact guest services who also contacted the manager. The manager told them that they had sent the tracking number to me, which was not true. Eventually the manager stopped responding to guest services. Finally, after more than two months of frustrating interaction I asked to be put in contact with the supervisor of guest services. I then received an e-mail from a person reporting to be a supervisor who told me that they had carefully reviewed my case (obviously not true) and that there was nothing further for them to do. They suggested that I contact the hotel and that the hotel staff would be glad to help me. If that were true, I would not have spent more than two months making fruitless phone calls and sending unanswered emails. Is it too much to ask a hotel manager take a few minutes to either send me a tracking number or to explain why they were unable to do so? read more

Stayed here last week, rooms were clean front desk was very helpful and polite. I absolutely loved the maintenance gentleman, had an issue with our tv and he came up to fix it with all smiles. Great staff, well almost . there was a young lady (Jessica) who was very loud and using profanity in the hall. I asked her to keep it down and she rolled her eyes and continued to talk to her associate, she was very unprofessional. Other than that my stay was great, will be returning. read more

The hotel is 6 months so Fairly new. It was very nice and clean nothing too fancy but very dorm life like. It's not a place for long stay and they do not have dressers in the rooms to unpack. I know so folks stay a while and like to unpack that is not the case here. There's no closets in the room either but many hooks for you to hang up your clothes. It's a quaint cute little stop spot. The beds are very comfortable and soft the pillows were awesome. I wonder where hotels purchase their pillows? I didn't get a crook in my neck and they weren't too fluffy or too flat just perfect. There's breakfast that complementary to your visit not extravagant but enough to make your belly full and get you on your way. Bagels, pancakes, hot & cold cereal, yogurt and fruit. Oh there's bacon and an omelette. The lobby is very nicely decorated with bright colors and fun things to do a very large connect four game to play and a pool table they also have a gym. But again, it's not a Long stay place it's a short stop place. We had a great experience here the location is up and coming they are building all around. If I could give this hotel a "0" I would for horrendous customer service. Made a booking for this hotel in October 2021 for late December. Stopping on our way to Florida. Got to the hotel and they said Booking was suppose to call me - they cancelled our reservation 30 minutes ago. Yes - 30 minutes before we arrived at 8:30 p.m. Tough luck was basically all they said. Tru blamed Booking.com - Booking.com blamed Tru. Booking found us another cheap rate hotel for more money - not even kidding. Did you know all hotels can do this? If you dont book direct, they can cancel you at the last minute. I heard from people who got canceled from Booking, Expedia, Hotel.com, Priceline. I did not know this and have been a Booking.com customer for awhile. Booking.com tried to help us - Tru by Hilton did not. I have never had such poor customer service with no response. Be careful what you book if you book with this hotel. read more

Maybe give this place a few months to get in its feet. This is a beautiful brand new hotel. Our room was great. They are small but perfect for our family with young children. The beds are so comfy and we slept great. Breakfast was good. Lots of options and the area was so clean. They had a lot more workers in the morning and everyone was so busy. Now the reason for the 3 stars. We checked in at 1am after driving from TN. There was a line at check-in and people waiting with all of their luggage in the lobby. They were so short staffed, they were still cleaning rooms from 3pm checkouts. Nyqueshia was working the front desk all alone while everyone including the manager cleaned rooms. Nyqueshia was so calm and taking care of everyone. We waited about 20 minutes so we were fine. The other family had been waiting over and hour in the lobby. Finally other workers came down and helped handle the crowd. The line after us was at 5. They told people they were overbooked. Not good for a short staffed hotel that's brand new. Definitely a corporate problem. read more

Do not stay at this hotel! I left an item I had purchased for a wedding behind the door in the bathroom. Within two hours of checkout, I called and the hotel tells me the room had not been cleaned yet but the item was not behind the door. Getting nothing but attitude from the hotel manager, I decided to call corporate and file a complaint. Corporate requested the cameras be reviewed and that the hotel would email me within a few days. Never heard from the hotel. Called corporate back and they were unable to get the hotel on the line. Then corporate disconnected me and I had to start the process over again with another representative. Still no luck in reaching the hotel. Corporate assured me they would return my call within 24 hours and it has now been 48 hours. I even requested a refund with all the hassle and loss of a wedding item. I have now committed to never staying in a Hilton owned hotel again. read more
