As soon as we checked in the room had a dirty sticky floor
    Kathy K.

My son and I are both Hilton Honors Diamond members and stay almost exclusively at Hilton properties. This was our first time at a Tru by Hilton and we were very disappointed in the quality of the environment in our room. We checked in late at night after a long day of flight delays and just wanted a clean room. As soon as we walked in the room had an awful smell. The cleaner they use has a strong chemical odor. The floor was sticky so he took a washcloth to wipe the floor and it was filthy. We asked the desk the next morning to reclean the room but when we returned the floors were still dirty. The staff were all very pleasant but something is definitely wrong with the cleaners they use in the rooms or they need to upgrade the floors.

Quite a nice view from my room of the ocean. Make sure to spend the extra $25 and get the ocean view rooms. The other side of the hotel is on the street. Issues included a cold hot tub and a freezing pool and only one pot of coffee available at breakfast. Staff was mostly great and the rooftop bar was nice, but volume should not be at Rockstar level. Great location in a growing beach area.

They have Electric Vehicle chargers, but there are always non-EV cars parked in front of the chargers. I have talked to management and they do not do anything. I live nearby and want to recommend this hotel to my friends but not if my friends cannot use the chargers. Why can't the front desk staff enforce their own parking rules.

Location is almost right on the beach and has many stores and restaurant in area. Hotel is clean and well maintained, employees were friendly and helpful, breakfast, food services and roof top bar was very good. Although parking wasn't in same building it was fairly close to hotel which made going in and out easy. building was near. Although Pompano Beach isn't an area I would stay often because Ai live in South Florida, we do visit every so often and stay for business purposes and highly recommend this place to any tourist or businesss traveler as well.

The views are amazing, the drink options are abundant and the ocean breeze is romantic. Be sure to ask for Brittany.

Will not recommend this rooftop me and my wife went on a honeymoon to get a couple of drinks afterwards and the service was horrible being that we were Hispanic we felt like no one in the staff wanted anything to do with us... waited 20 mins and no one even Acknowledge that we were there.

Great staff all around. Gorgeous view from the 4th floor overlooking the pool and Pompano Beach Pier. Pool area superb! Breakfast staff (Tiffany!!) was off the charts amazing! Food warmer wasn't working, but staff ensured we got hot food even when we showed up at 9:50AM! Ease of check in and out great. Rooftop area was wonderful for the evening to just finish off the nights. Also fun tidbit, there is a filtered water fountain up there to refill all your bottles and save on money and help the environment. Wife is a team member and there weren't TM available rates, however the price we did pay wasn't too bad for the view and area. Lots of fun in waking distance. Room was a bit tight, but this is our first time in a Tru by Hilton. Having a balcony to sip coffee and cocktails was a plus. We navigated and got the hang of it. Just wished they had coffee in the rooms and a small microwave. We didn't rent a vehicle, so we didn't have to worry about the parking. We will definitely stay again if in the area.

It is an ocean-view king room. This means the room is on the side of the building but still had a great view of the ocean. You enter valet on the northern side of the building. The valet Matt was quick, friendly and helped with my luggage. Valet is $44 a day. There was a short line at the front desk but there were two employees working and it went quick. The $45 resort fee covers chairs and umbrellas on the beach and two complementary drinks. You can pick from a small list of drinks including beer, g&t and wine. They also offer a morning exercise routine. Monday was yoga by the pool. The room was large with a nice modern design, a small couch and side table and a nice balcony with two chairs and a table. There was a coffee maker and fridge but no microwave. We ordered room service and had breakfast out on the balcony one morning. There were games setup in one of the meeting rooms right outside the pool and free popcorn was offered daily. The pool was large with plenty of chairs but people did save seats early in the morning. I went down at 9am and there were about five seats not claimed and only around eight people at the pool. Everyone else started showing up to their saved chairs around 10am. The pool did get less crowded with fewer children as the day went on. By 3pm there were more open chairs available. The beach is right outside the gate. Along with the chairs and umbrellas there is a sand pit with toys for the kids, a tiki bar and volleyball net. The hotel is very clean with modern decor. It is in a very residential area so there aren't any shops or restaurants around to walk too. Everything is about a mile south near the pier. It was the perfect place for rest and relaxation which is exactly what I was looking for.

Housekeeping staff are super kind, and anything we needed arrived quickly! The negative: Don't waste your money! We paid $400+ per night (amenities included, valet separate) and found out the hotel sells $45/day passes to non-guests. We had an issue with our room, and the hotel could not move us because it was full. We were told we'd get 2 chairs, access to the private beach, and 2 welcome drinks. No chairs, all 4 days we were there (party of 8). The welcome drinks were gin, non-ach or wine... Service was extremely slow, the pool was overcrowded, and the staff was so cranky/rude that everyone seemed to dislike their job. For a hotel marketed as a remodeled, luxury spa retreat, this was disappointing and not what we paid for. The icing on the cake was waiting 30m+ to valet our car due to the influx of people coming and going, oh, and having to bring our own luggage up and down due to no carts. Spoke with Ricardo about our entire stay, and he just stared at my husband, then proceeded to say, "Well, when you go to Disney on a holiday weekend, it's going to be busy." Sir... when I go to Disney, I know it's going to be crowded because it's DISNEY. You're a Marriott selling $400+ rooms a night and over-crowding your hotel, causing your guests to not enjoy the amenities you're claiming to provide, then when we say we are unhappy, you don't even bother trying to work with us; you looked annoyed. I wish we read the comments before staying because it seems to be a recurring theme.

The main pool had plenty of seating, a water slide, and a little kids areas. The rooms were spacious, especially for our large family. We had a two-bedroom unit with a full kitchen, separate living area, and generous bathrooms. The extra square footage made a big difference. There were a couple of minor downsides. Some of the common areas and resort amenities felt a bit dated. There was also an elicit or in the main building that was out of service. Our room did not have a washer and dryer but there was a nearby laundry room. All in all, a solid 4-star resort that delivered on space and pool variety. Great value for a relaxing Florida vacation!

We have participated in…read moreWyndham timeshare presentations in the past, so we knew what to expect and understood that the purpose of the presentation was to sell us a product. What we did not expect was the level of pressure and the complete disregard for our repeated requests to leave. We were told that the presentation would last approximately two hours. We listened to the presentation and declined the offer multiple times. However, rather than accepting our decision, the representatives became increasingly persistent. At one point, we were even told that we were "making a mistake" by not purchasing. When we were finally brought to the person who was supposed to handle our exit, the pressure continued. I clearly told her that we were not interested and that we needed to leave. She continued to push, so I stopped her again and explained that the presentation was supposed to be two hours, that we had already been there for approximately two and a half hours, and that we needed to leave to meet our family. At that point, we genuinely felt like we were being held hostage. We stood up to leave, and a supervisor approached us and asked us to stay for "five more minutes." After everything we had already said, we felt bullied into staying yet again. Eventually, we were allowed to leave and were taken to the gift desk, where we encountered another couple who had apparently experienced a similar situation. We understand that Wyndham has a product to sell, and we expected a sales presentation. What we did not expect was to have our repeated "no" ignored, our time disregarded, and to feel pressured and uncomfortable simply because we declined to purchase. We have stayed at many Wyndham properties over the years and have generally had positive experiences. This experience at Wyndham Palm-Aire was very different and extremely disappointing. We will now think twice before booking our next vacation with Wyndham. A company that values its guests should respect their decisions when they have clearly and repeatedly declined an offer. I hope this complaint is taken seriously and that the management at Palm-Aire addresses the way these presentations are being conducted. No guest should feel pressured or intimidated into staying after they have clearly stated that they want to leave. #wyndham

When we came to the Beachcomber I was beyond disappointed with this "resort". "Resort" is a very Lise term. I booked and paid for my stay on line. And the end result was "Total with taxes and fees" of which I paid in full. I was informed there would be a $10 additional fee per day for parking. Ok, I understood that and I was told that ahead of time. When I got here they added an additional $45.20 PER DAY for resort fees. That was not mentioned anywhere. My TOTAL with "taxes and FEES" did not turn out to be the total. They gave me a piece of paper to sign so they could have an additional $135 for my 3 day stay. The Manager Aaron was completely disrespectful. He blamed the 3rd party vendor Expedia, for not disclosing that. They allow Expedia. It is their job to make sure their customers are given the correct information. He had me go through my receipts and email confirmations that I received to show me the "resort fees" were shown to be an addition. It wasn't. So now what? My confirmation showing "Total taxes and fees" should be the total unless otherwise explained, like the $10 parking fee. So, Aaron would have been gloating if there was a statement on my receipt stating additional fees but it wasn't there. He refused to honor my receipt. So then I see on the paperwork they gave me, showing it was a King bed. I requested 2 doubles. I said I requested 2 doubles and he waved the paper in my face and said, "See, it says King". I then had to show him my paperwork showing 2 double beds. All I got the was "Oh they must have made a mistake" who is "they"? Surely not Beachcomber. My hands were tied. I have my Mother's burial in the morning and I did not have the emotion energy to find another place. Although faced with the room issue coming up, I should have. I specified a balcony. Would be nice to have a view of some kind. So where does sweet Aaron put me? On the first floor with a balcony alright. A balcony that sits on the ground, next to the pool "entrance" with screaming kids, I can not open my windows because of people passing by a staring in my room. HORRIBLE. As I am right now writing this in my ground level "balcony" room I am crying. Too many emotions building up. Aaron you should be ashamed of yourself for treating a customer like that. I actually just noticed another reviewer had a similar experience with not disclosing the additional "fees". Gee, Aaron stated he would get in touch with Expedia for "their" mistake and get it straightened out. If Aaron or any staff in charge would actually read their reviews, they would see a pattern. But I guess Beachcomber doesn't care about their reviews with dissatisfied customers.

Hubby got unexpectedly stuck in Pompano Beach for several weeks while there on business, and they have treated him like family from day 1. He is absolutely not easy to please, but they have surpassed expectation and been absolutely wonderful to him. My boys and I went to visit this last weekend, and every single staff member we passed greeted my husband by name with a giant smile and a pleasantly helpful attitude. I think, besides hiring great people, this boils down to the manager of this hotel, who is stellar. He's got a great demeanor, is extremely knowledgeable about his trade and his hotel, and has trained his staff to a level surpassing much more expensive venues. The building, itself, is showing signs of its age, which is not unusual for a seaside place like this. The doors don't always want to open because they stick, the locks are finicky, at best, floors on some of the hallways have peeling paint here and there, and the bathroom leaked from above ours while we were there this weekend. THIS BEING SAID, however, every time we mentioned an issue, the staff was all over getting them fixed asap. They even went out and bought the hubster a coffee maker for the room when he complained that he didn't have one (evidently they aren't typically provided) AND they gave him a second mini fridge for some special meds he has to keep cold. I mean, who does that these days??? Nobody but them! When you are planning to be in the Ft Lauderdale/Pompano Beach area, try this resort-style waterfront hotel. They'll take good care of you and your family, guaranteed.
