They even RXed medication given this lack of complete medical history knowledge! My daughter's patient portal only had stepmom's name, cell, and address?!?!!?!? Not even my daughter's dad's name listed! WOW! On top of all this, just to put a cherry on the top... they of course recommended my daugther's regiment be inclusive to all of their med spa product line!!! Simply said, a 12 year old who has normal hormonal acne (not even that bad?!?!), does NOT need to be using the same cleanser, with tons of active ingredients, that her mother does as a 52 year old!!! PERIOD!!! Shame on WLD!! If a practice is this hap hazard on such basic HIPPA and patient care guidlines with regard to seeing minors wihtout parent consent, are you really going to get your cosmetic surgery done here?!?!?

When did patients needing medical care become unimportant; why are we dehumanizing needs of patients? Somehow going to the doctor has become a profit driven 15-minute visit scheduling problem. It's a moral one. It reflects a system that values documentation over dialogue, billing over bonding, and efficiency over empathy. It's the quiet erosion of what medicine used to be: a conversation between people who trusted each other. If we want to restore that trust, we have to reclaim time, not from patients but for them. We have to re-humanize care by giving space to the parts that don't fit in a drop-down menu. Sense of impatience, the hurry, and the sense that the doctor is listening but not hearing. Being told "We'll have to schedule another visit." "I'll only bring up one issue today." Nobody cares anymore about the patient. Did you go to medical school to help people or to help the broken system? Because when we finally stop pretending that 15 minutes is enough, we might rediscover what those minutes were supposed to mean.

The entire WD team has been nothing but upfront with me about all bills and expenses, and the staff is truly incredible. I cannot sing their praises enough. From the consultant to reception to the nurses, anesthesiologist, and surgeon, Dr. Chike-Obi, everyone I've had the pleasure of interacting with has made me feel like I am in the very best of hands. Dr. Chike-Obi's team has also been extremely communicative. They have responded quickly to all of my emails, called in prescriptions I've requested same day, and one of the nurses, Nicole, even gave me her direct number so that I can conveniently call or text with any questions/concerns. I don't want to say I've been needy or high maintenance ... it is my body and a permanent procedure, so I should feel empowered to ask any and all questions that I have. But I certainly have reached out a lot, and I've been really pleased with the care and attention I've received. Most importantly, I am certain that the WD team is totally and completely dedicated to their clients' health and safety. I went in for my procedure, and when the team realized that I had a family history of malignant hyperthermia, they immediately reassessed and rescheduled my procedure to a date and time when every possible precaution could be taken on my behalf. Rob, my anesthesiologist, was so empathetic -- he answered all my questions and assured me that the new course of action would prevent any adverse reactions to the anesthesia and even make my recovery a bit easier. I've not yet had my surgery, but thanks to the WD team, I'll be going into it with very little worry. I feel confident that my procedure and the recovery process will be as pleasant as all my other interactions have been thus far. If you're looking for bargains or quick-turn procedures, this isn't your place. But personally, dermatological care and cosmetic work are not things I'd ever want a bargain on, nor would I ever want my care to be rushed. This is a top-notch practice. The lapse occurred just as I was changing jobs meaning their miscommunication caused me to lose access to my medication until my insurance kicked back in. Her response -- "oh well we can see you in a month". Clearly you can't I just said I have to wait for new insurance to kick in. I'll be finding a new derm at that point.
