Do NOT use!!!!!! HORRIBLE service!! I called and they told me they could come out and measure the broken window the next week. I called back after 6 days and they then told me it would be another 2-3 WEEKS before they could even give me a quote! I proceeded to tell the man on the phone that the first person I talked to said it would only be a week for someone to measure. He was insanely RUDE and said no one would ever give that timeline. We've left messages and when someone does answer the phone they say let me check in to it and get back to you and no one calls back. We came in the summer, picked the door that we wanted and was told someone would go out and look at the job and let us know if its doable. I can't speak to their work but their communication leaves much to be desired. After nearly a month of waiting for someone from Truckee River Glass to come out and take measurements for a shower enclosure (and a reminder phone call) I've heard nothing from the company. The gentleman I spoke to both times assured me someone would be in touch shortly to take measurements. I believe it's common courtesy to refer a customer to another business if their's is too busy. After 3 calls back to them following up, they said "oh, were not sure we want to do that job, its too difficult". 4 windows are too difficult? Think they may be in the wrong business. I rarely write reviews, especially bad ones, but I could not be more disappointed with my experiences as a customer. One year ago I contacted them for a window replacement that a neighbor child broke. Luckily it was the inner pane of a double window since it took them several months to come out and do the bid and then they did not bid it for replacement with a slider as I had requested. Asked them to give me a bid for what I had asked. Multiple calls over the next 4 to 5 months did not result in the promised visit and bid. Not sure why but in the spring over 6 months from when I contacted them, I asked them and they did the bid. It took them two months to order and install my window after multiple phone calls asking about the install after I paid in advance for the window. They damaged the screen during install and did not let me know that they took the screen and the good window they had replaced to match the replacement. They had on the job order to leave the good window pane which we replaced to match the broken one. I had to call them at which time they informed me they had the screen and window and they would deliver them to my house, this was four weeks after the original work. No delivery and I went and called them today and was told they had my screen and window. When I arrived I was told they had thrown the window away. When I asked him why they would take the window from my home and then keep it and say they would deliver it and they did not deliver it, his answer was I really wish they delivered it so he didn't have to "PAY" to throw it away! Absolutely unapologetic, horrible service after paying them well over $1300+. As I said I rarely write reviews, let alone bad reviews but they deserve this and more. I hope others see this review so they do not waste their time and money and if anyone asks me, I would recommend they absolutely not go here for any glass service. read more

We built a house recently and used Truckee River Glass for our windows. The prices were good, they beat the big box stores by about 5%. Other than that, this place was a disappointment. The customer service was terrible. It's the type of place that makes you feel like you should feel lucky they are taking their time to help you. There was a problem with our shipment that was going to cost us thousands in wasted labor and Truckee River Glass couldn't have cared less. There has to better places to spend 20K+. My first call was in early April, before the summer rush in Truckee. They have never called me back, and have never showed up despite promises to "get out next week", and "get to it when we can." Zero. Customer. Service. Last week I called Mountain View Glass. They came out as promised, called me back as promised, and my window is on order- all within a week. The worst customer service ever! I've never had a company make me feel like I'm unconvincing them by giving them work. Every time I call they are rude. The actual work comes out good , but not only does it take forever and you have to call repeatedly to find out if it's ready, but they will also make you feel like your bothering them the whole time. If you expect any kind of half way decent customer service, I would suggest trying some other glass company. I called to set up a shower door install, they took all my info and said they would call back in a couple day to set up someone to come out and measure the shower. 2 weeks later I had not heard back. I called them again and They took all my information again and again said someone would call in a couple day. Another 2 week past with no word. Then they showed up a week after that without calling. My daughter happen to be home and let them in. By this time I called nVision glass in Reno for another option. So another 3 weeks went by and TRG finally called with an estimate. So if you don't mind waiting over a month to just get an estimate then go ahead and call them but I went with nVision glass in Reno instead and had my estimate within a few days and installed glass within a few weeks. read more

Called to order a piece of glass to replace a broken window pane. Spoke with the owner and he told me it would be ready same-day. I ended up not being able to make it that day -- called and let them know. Went and picked it up the following day, and I was quickly on my way with a new piece of glass. I purchased a replacement pane of glass for my home. Two months later while heating up the home, the inner pane cracked. Nothing struck the glass. This was my first time to purchase from Truckee River Glass. I my surprise they extend no warranty. The offered no compensation. Wow I do not understand the low rating. I have usedv TRG on three ocassions during the past 12 years for a corner shower, a large walk in shower and most recently to install 5 second story windows and a shower window. There have been times I thought the guy in the story at the old location could of been a little more friendly My most recent experience was excellent. I was teatrd wirh couresry. They measured the windows when the said they would and installed them when they said the would and they were even here until almost 7PM installing the second story windows and returned the next morning to install the shower window. They have also given quick estimates and did the project the day they said they would on my other two projects. I am happy to give them 5 stars read more

These guys are the best. We're newbies to roof snowslides and within 24 hrs of our window shattering from an ice dam, Jake had a quote to us, as promised. They also went ahead and installed 3 days later from quote as promised. In addition, the installers offered logical suggestions for minimizing window damage from re-occurence in the future. I have been waiting two months for some screens for my house.When ordering windows doors ect. for clients you expect to have them done within a reasonable time frame, this will not be accomplished here. TERRIBLE service. I called last week and they said it would take 1 -2 days but they would call me. I had to call them and they said they hadn't even gotten the glass in but they would let me know when. The weekend passes and I have to call back and check in. I asked for them to give me a call THAT day or the day after to update me. They promised they would. 3 days later and I had to call them again. When I called and told them who I was they hung up on me. I called back and asked where the table top was and they said they still have to finish it but they'd call back. TRG has moved to 10970 Industrial Way in Truckee. It's a small space but it's easy to find. I had a shower door installed in my condo and I'm very pleased with the finished product. James the installer arrived on time and although there was a problem with the size of the glass he assured me I could still use the shower and he would order me new glass. The office called me a few weeks later and arranged another appointment. Phil showed up on time and installed the new glass. The shower door looks and works great. read more

Not sure why my yelp reviews keep getting considered as not relevant but people need to know the truth about this business. The owners are the most rude and unprofessional people I have ever met. I will take the only recourse I have and take my business elsewhere. On my latest and last experience at the shop the owner had his elementary age son in the office with him. The son experienced the way the owner was talking to me and will probable get the idea that is how you speak to people. Such a shame. I hope people read these reviews and take there business elsewhere. I have lived and worked in the this community for 20 years and it supposes me that this company is still in business. read more
